The moment I realized it was a perfect 1:1 correlation I was dumbfounded to say the least. The gridlines on the dayzdb.com map are 1km apart. As you move your mouse across the map you get another number, those are in intervals of 100m. So for example Stary Sobor is in coordinates 06 07 or about 6km from the west borded, 7km from the north. The more precise coordinates are 061072 - 6100 meters from the west, 7200 meters from the north. The first, larger scale coordinates (06 07) are what you get when you are zoomed out on the ingame map. The smaller scale ones (061072) are what you see ingame when you zoom in on the map and what your GPS tells you where you are. Navigating has gotten quite easily since I know that :D

I don't mind hiking long distances, I even enjoy it. When my supplies are depleted (which they are right now) I'll take a trip to a hospital (which I'm doing right now) and fill my backpack to the brim (which I hope to do in a few minutes :D ) to be ready for another assignment. I tried setting up a camp with surplus supplies but I already lost too much. Dozens of blood bags, morphine injections etc. disappeared from my tent. Not that I really mind losing medical supplies if they are actually taken from a tent. Supplies taken by somebody who needs them or me taking them to him because he didn't have any on him doesn't make that much of a difference after all. However I'm fairly certain that the server ate a lot of the items I stored so I stopped trying to build my little depot until the items can be stored more reliably.

I laughed SO hysterically at this. I suppose I need to work a little on my bedside manners :> Mercian I'm somewhat nearby but I just used my last bloodbag on my previous patient. I can get you some morphine and try to find some food to you get on your feet. Sorry I couldn't find you on Steam - please add me via my Stead ID page

Zombies. essentially 1 hit kill without a weapon.

My personal preference is to look for a hatchet first before I do anything else do prevent such situations. They have a good chance to show up in farm buildings like barns or stables or any industrial site. Once you have your hatchet aggroing a single zombie is no big deal anymore. They might get in a single hit which might still cause bleeding, but since you only need a single hit yourself and you won't attract any further zombies, making a small mistake while stealth moving becomes much less of a problem. Until you find a hatchet I consider it absolutely critical not to get the attention of anything. Out of my about 150 killed zombies so far at least 130 died to the blade of my hatchet and I feel really vulnerable if I happen to lose it due to a glitch (which happens quite frequently).
