    DayZ PC vs Console

I guess assuming all versions being equal, then I'd go with console because it'd make for the easiest accessibility for me, as well as for others around me. Not having to deal with the stigmas associated with pc's would go a long way with casual players in terms of getting them to join in.

    The SA release date.

When does the SA release you ask?... :P

    Is it worth buying now?

If you're not really interested in playing Arma 2, just DayZ, then you'd probably be better off waiting a couple more weeks for the SA. I doubt you have much disposible income if you're asking this question, but if you do then I say try it out; no harm no foul.

    Explain Your Avatar!

I found a pic of the 1979 Dawn of the Dead cover zombie but wearing a french hat. It reminded me of the Mythbusters zombie in DayZ.

    DayZ Standalone. Pay again?

We pay again since we technically did not pay for DayZ MOD specifically in the first place, but for the ARMA II: CO which in turn we use as a base to run the FREE DayZ mod off of.

"Code of Conduct?" Isn't that the popular phrase people put on their xbox gamertags? :P

Rocket, will we be seeing dogs with the initial release of the stand alone?

    Need help with this

It's your graphics card dude, a nvidia 610m is pretty bad. Then again you probably have a laptop so it's best if you just build a desktop pc specifically for playing games or wait until you can afford to.

    Jelly beans!

Well let me put it this way, If 99.9% of bloodpacks in the game had the generic label "bloodpack", except for 00.1% labeled "AB- bloodpack" then chances are experienced DayZ player might ask themselves "Why the fuck would the developers (Rocket) go out of there way to add such an innocuous item?" It doesn't have to have any meaning on a practical level in-game, it would just be a tool for players to potentially use when constructing their own narrative - and isn't that something Rocket and the gang are aiming for???

    Jelly beans!

I like it. Also, how about a super rare bloodpack that contains type AB- blood (the rarest kind on earth)? This could kinda play into what Rocket said about letting players create their own narrative. So a person who finds this might be like, "A type AB- bloodpack? "WTF?! is this somehow related to the infection?...perhaps even lead to a cure?" and another could be like "WOAH?!? Maybe this bloodpack gives me special abilities or something?". This would be a subtle yet powerful way of getting more crazy lore/theories about DayZ going.

    Standalone Poll: First Person Only?

I think it should be up to the individual States to decide their policy on this issue.

    Standalone - worried?

Really? Aww so cool! Thanks for telling us,

    Standalone - worried?

I say let's start QQ'ing only AFTER (if and when) Rocket fails to release the SA before the year is out, and not a second beforehand.

    Build IED

Sounds like a great idea, but why not throw in some fecal matter for good measure? Players have a chance of getting sick this way and therefore need to get antibiotics, etc. - Dat biological warfare.

My ideas for plausible NPC survivors.

-Spawn near player like zombies would. -Maybe also spawn with random loot on them. -They don't have to be uber intelligent. -Basic abilities like being able to crouch/go prone to try and avoid zombies. Pick up items, perhaps just for the sake of picking them up (like cans and whiskey bottles) though some items like food, water they might actually use either on the spot, 1,2,3,4,5,10 minutes later, or not at all (basically at random). -Upon visual contact with a player, the npc survior will try to run away or crouch away - it depends. If the player has a melee weapon equipped and is a good distance away, and there are zombies near, the npc survivor will crouch/crawl away until he's out of the zombies range AND THEN commence to run away. BUT, if the npc notices that the player is holding a gun, then he will run regardless of the danger from the zombies. -When the NPC loses sight of the player, he will go back into "roaming mode" and continue exploring the world. -They automatically go into "run mode" once they get hit, either by zombies or players. -If the player is a fresh spawn i.e. only has the default items and/or no weapons, upon contact the npc survivor will continue roaming around ignoring the player until if and when the player survivor becomes an actual threat...I know that seems cold and heartless, unrealistic even, but TRUST ME other players have done this to me multiple times in DAYZ so I don't see why it would be much of a strech. -If for some odd reason two npc survivos make contact, they will not acknowledge each others existense OR they will act as they would with a player survivor. Either way. (wild ideas) -If npc survivors get a broken leg and you give them some morphine by dropping it near them, then they will for a couple of minutes become friendly torwards you. You will then get the options when you click on them to either use a bloodpack (If you or the npc has one) on you, perhaps be able to ask them which way is north and then the npc points to the direction north, maybe they can drop a can of beans on the ground as well. -But of course if you are the cause of an npc's broken leg, then they will just keep crawling away from you regardless of your 180 degree change of heart! (Or they could take your morphine and then they'd run away - hilarious). I know I'll come up with more ideas on this, so I might edit this later on :P.

Straight forward logic about why we need a morality system

In principle, I don't agree with a morality system because that will only pigeon hole people into playing a certain style if others know how bad or good they are - at least that has been my experience. Players shouldn't be seen as black and white, but preferably in shades of grey. THE ONLY morality system I would tolerate would be one where AFTER you kill someone on the sidebar it will only say "bandit killed" or "non-bandit killed", and that's all. Yet, we also have to find a way to curtail the current 99.9% chance of KOS. With that said, I'm confident that as the amount of things to do in DayZ increases, the KOS will slowly but steadily decrease.

My ideas for plausible NPC survivors.

But DayZ already uses human A.I. with the zombies, virtually the same found in vanilla Arma 2 (albeit a bit modified if I remember correctly).

    Triffids in dayz

Yes, Jurassic Park aka Lingor Island might be a suitable enviourment for this type of idea. Why not.

Boat wars anyone? Perhaps even - and this is a bit crazy - illegal gambling on international waters?
