Humanity hasn't gone away only the clothes aspect of it, which sort of makes sense. I believe at some point it will be revisited and who's to know what impact that will have. As has been said, the clothes aspect of it pretty much removed a lot of the discussion in a situation, it made everything black and white and that doesn't seem to be a thing that DayZ does.
