Come on rick, its all good. Honestly, i wasnt trying to be a smartass, its just the truth. I want a good game when beta comes and to do that the alpha needs to be an alpha and actually fix bugs. Everything the OP is complaining about is already coming in due time if he would just do the research.

no more forum love....test already on a side note if you knew the answer why ask the question? You are not a player, you are a tester here to test bugs, that is it. Enjoying the alpha is just a bonus. If you dont get that then that is your problem.

the number is arbitrary and can be adjusted to whatever they need. I just didnt want to get flamed from carebears that want tons of loot. Just saying loot respawn should only be done once there is a way to actually keep rare loot rare. I never want to see a tent with nothing but 12 DMR's and ammo again. (Horrible Mod flashbacks) adjusted my original post a bit, i was just throwing numbers out. They system is the important part. -

Im all for loot respawn, but not like the mod. There was way too much loot. Im thinking loot respawns at server restart, then maybe every hour or so. I also think there should be caps on high value items (example: the cap for m4's on any server is lets say 10, If you have 12 m4's on the server, on a person or at a loot spawn, no more will spawn, but if there is only 6 on the server during a loot respawn phase, then the server will spawn 4 into areas with the proper loot table.) of course the numbers for the caps could be adjusted as needed. also if the number of items gets over the cap (from players joining) it wont despawn anything, it just wouldnt spawn anymore into the loot tables till the item count drops below the hard cap again That being said, i would be perfectly ok with loot as it is. I never have a problem finding loot, i just have to go out of my way a bit, which is exactly how it should be. -

I agree with OP to an extent. Im definatly not saying dont put them in, but i think zombie count would be priority as far as server load is concerned. My thoughts would be as follows ( remember just talkin server load) 1. Get zombie count up (yes they are broke and will be fixed in due time, but again just server load here) 2. Add in persistent storage objects (tents, backpacks, or whatever else) 3. Hunting (Game animals like the MOD) 4. Basic crafting (bow/arrows, spears, backpacks, etc) 5. Maybe vehicles 6. Barricading buildings 7. then if servers can still handle things, add in the companions, preditory animals, more detailed crafting, and other extras ONLY after the core elements are in gameand the servers can still handle the load. Again this is just my 2 cents. I dont have a problem with them putting in whatever they want, I just dont want them to get carried away to quickly. What would you rather have? Roaming zombie hoards or stray dogs to tame? Both would be ideal but servers can only hold so much. Stuff it full sure, but how much is gonna be full? and lets be honest with ourselves here. We all can make an argument for horses or whatever (GO Unicycle!!!) if we wanted, but who thinks horses right after you think survival or dayZ -

What differs between pro and noob? besides playing hours and your ability to learn from mistakes, i guess its pretty simple. Noob = comes on forums to post about being pro Pro = if they post, its usually helpful stuff IN Game = you wont see pro's unless they want you to -

I love the x-factor, i just think it would be fun to develop knowledge of the world you play in like you would in reality. I dont expect to know everything, i would just like the sense of slowly growing familiar with people, locations, habits, etc. of course none of it is set in stone. Maybe you ran into a friendly in polana and got seperated by a restart? i would just like to think maybe, one day, i can find him around here again( like u might in real life) instead of the actual odds of finding someone on 1 out of 100,000 servers again. Clan servers dont have a regular community except for the clan. I think there is very little community at all IN Game right now. How many times do you see the same players regularly as servers are now? I wont be angry with public servers, i just think public servers add a little immersion breaking to the world.(not to mention combat logging, ghosting, server hopping) I guess in all reality i might just miss the old MUSTY servers.(minus the added in stuff) -

I love how people claim to throw away their life savings or something. i got my 30 dollars out of this game long ago, i'm already in the bonus. Also by the time dean leaves the game will mostly be ready for beta. Its not like he is doing much besides pr at this point anyway. I always assumed this is how it would go since he sold the rights to dayz to BI in the first place. -

My least favorite thing about public servers is the complete loss of community. While i hate custom private servers, if admins powers were severely limited, i could see private hives as a better solution. I often dream of servers where everyone knows your name(cheers) , there are known groups that claim areas, or just community in general. I think it would be great to plan a trip to northwest airfield and have to factor in maybe an established clan might like to hang around vybor and because ive picked this up after playing on the server awhile i can adjust my habits, kinda like you would in real life as you become more familiar with a place and the people around it. -

I hate to go straight to the alpha argument, but ALPHA man!!!! They are going to break the game at some point, they are going to add things in that u cant cure, or fix, or prevent, they are going to make it almost unplayable at some point during optimization. Thats the point of alpha!!! You arent here to enjoy the game (although it might be a side effect), you are here to test...TEST!!! p.s. just read second page of thread and realize logic and facts are beyond op....sigh -

"Tired of being friendly, i now play easy mode"...............fixed it for you there. Seriously though, even friendly players typically arent friendly at airfields and military bases. I've always played friendly, to do so you just need to always have the upper hand when you let people know you r there, dont be afraid to shoot them if they are acting shady, and the best tool of the friendly player that never gets used.....running away. -
