Quick question about Packs and Tents

Well, we HAD 2, but we lost one of them to a hacker. We don't know when we'll be able to find another one so we're stuck on the one tent for now.

Is zombie agro broken since last patch?

Zombie aggro has been a little messed up for the last few patches. Its not uncommon for a zombie to spot you several dozen meters away even if you're crouch running in tall grass. The good news is, its now easier to lose zombies in shrubs and dense trees. They will actually stop chasing you if they lose sight of you in dense shrubbery and you can lose them quickly that way if you'd rather not gun them all down.

Quick question about Packs and Tents

So the Pack will continue to contain the items within it for a short while? Hmmm... I'm trying to maximize space in our one and only tent. It kinda sucks that a Box of Matches takes up the same amount of space as a CZ 550. Stocking tools in the tent is overloading it really quickly so I'm trying to see if there's an alternative way to stock tools. I'll test it with a single hunting knife or something next time.
  4. What happens when I put a Pack that has stuff in it into a Tent? I know that the pack will go into the tent, but what happens to the items inside the Pack? My friend and I have just set up our own tent and I'm wondering how Packs interact with Tents.

I've searched barns, airfields, deer stands, fire stations, all were filled with useless junk and ammo, but no actual gun. This goes on for weeks until Mr. A joins. And then in my first fire station I find an AKM. In my second fire station I find a DMR.

To my saviour in US 257

Unlikely. The shots sounded close enought that they most likely came from around the school, but the school area isn't clearly visible from the inside of that fire station tower. Also I was cowering in fear in a corner that obscures me from that general direction at the time. Aaaand I didn't hear any bullet impacts or shots whizz by. I don't know who, or what, he was shooting at, but it wasn't at me.

Lol, no. It was a really good rush. You were the first bandit encounter I've survived, and also my first player kill =P

To my saviour in US 257

If you were the bandit named 'Monk', then sorry, but you didn't. You wounded me, but you took a whole mag's worth of DMR rounds into your torso when you came up after me in the tower before you could finish me off. I thought I was still going to die to the zombie horde though, at least until someone else's rifle shots drew them away.
  9. About 9 hours ago, Elecktro, Server US 257. A short while after the hacker killed off a bunch of people, causing the server pop to fall. I was hold up in the tower of the fire-station, I had just emptied an entire DMR mag into the torso of a bandit, drawing every single zombie in the area to me. I was badly injured and I had only a single mag for a Revolver looted from my would-be killer. There was no way I was going to make it out through the horde. And then I heard what sounded like DMR shots coming from the direction of the school. I'm not sure why you fired, but you drew the horde away from me, and I was able to sneak out of the city a short while later. I just wanted you to know that you saved my life. You have my beans for that.

    DayZ Stories

So I have this friend who JUST started playing. Let's call him Mr. A. I'd been playing several weeks, and the best guns I've been able to find is a Lee Enfield and a Makarov. The instant Mr. A joins in, I find an m1911 eventhough I'm halfway across the map. "Oh... FINALLY!" I think, it was about time I found a better hand-gun. Little did I know that Mr. A would turn out to be a swirling vortex of luck, both good and bad. Within 3 days, we find ourselves a CZ 550, 3 AKMs, a PDW, a DMR, more Revolvers and m1911s, a Remington w Flashlight, and a tent for each of us. We even find our very first crashed helicopter, which sadly was already raided, but we looted the medical box for some much needed supplies. Finding the DMR was a funny story, I had ran into Elecktro's fire station to do a quick raid, having recently died to a hacker. While I was in there a survivor came in and started firing his Revolver at me, eventhough the whole station was filled with zombies. I made it up the stairs but not before he hit me once. I bandaged myself up while I heard him dealing with the zombies downstairs and prepared to fend him off with my Hatchet, and then I saw it. A DMR with mags lying right there at my feet like a gift from heaven. I picked it up just in time to see him pop up from the stairs, and I emptied an ENTIRE MAG into his torso. Overkill, I know, but I was panicking at the time. And so my first bandit kill ever comes from a dude named 'Monk'. On the fourth day, we stumbled upon a pair of survivors, proned in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by zombies. It turns out there was a ANOTHER heli crash site right behind them that they'd just looted. Mr. A panicked and killed one of them, his friend turned and killed Mr. A before I, in turn, gunned him down after picking up my downed friend's CZ 550 (I had no primary weapon at the time because we were planning on raiding Stary Sobor, and I was to keep most of my inventory empty). Sure enough, these 2 dudes were packing SERIOUS heat. I retrieve my friend's CZ 550, looted a G17, an M16, and an M4A1 CCO SD, with mags for all of them. I eventually met up with Mr. A again and returned his CZ 550. I decided to keep the M4A1 CCO SD, and dumped the rest in our home base. We decided to proceed with the plan to raid the military camps in Stary Sobor. On the way there, while crossing an open field that we couldn't avoid, we started taking fire! We weren't sure whether it was one of the dudes back for vengeance (Mr. A had spotted them running back to their bodies on his way to meet me), but poor Mr. A got hit. We barely made it to the tree line on the opposite side of the field with Mr. A bleeding out of every orifice and bullets whizzing by us. I managed to determine where the shots were coming from because the dude literally did not stop firing, and I returned fire with my newly acquired M4A1 CCO SD. I eventually took him out because he ran out into the open field for some reason, where he was exposed. Sadly we couldn't loot his body because he used the exploit that makes his own body immediately sink into the ground. So, that's the story of my first 3 legitimate kills after playing for weeks. Monk in the Elecktro fire station, Conscript next to a crashed heli, and some random dude whose name I can't remember in some random field, all within a few days of Mr. A joining...

    Zelenogorsk should have a Hospital

My buddy and I came across our first helicopter crash site the other day, just as we were starting to get worried about low blood and were down to our last 2 morphine. It was insanely risky, out in an open field, and neither of us were in great shape. But I managed to sneak in and raid the medical box that was still FULL of supplies. Sadly, the guns were already looted. You CAN find medical supplies inland, but its usually just as risky as heading to the coasts :)

Da fack happend to the M1911

Almost all weapons were nerfed. The M1911 and Revolver requires 4 body shots to down a zombie. The Makarow, M9, and other similar caliber handguns require around 8.
  13. Aite, thanks. I'm playing with a friend and the weapon nerfs caught us off guard. We ended up blowing almost all of our M1911 ammo. I considered swapping my M1911 for a Makarov so that there's more ammo to go around, but since it takes an entire clip to down one zombie, I think we'll just try to conserve ammo.

    what happened to the servers?

Some problem with the Six Launcher I think. Ther servers are still there, but the Six Launcher seems to have problems detecting them.
  15. Oops, I meant Makarov. How many body shots does the Makarov require?
