  1. Hi everyone, I’m looking for a group to play with around a UK time zone. I do prefer to play as a survivor and would like to do some team play were we look to help each other out. Like most people, I would like a team who play serious but want to have a laugh also, it is a game after all. I know some of the groups on here have some strict rulings as to who they will play with so I’m posting my details below to find any interested parties. Basic information: Age: 24 Location: Scotland Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/ruffleader/ Twitter: @ruffleader – good place to get in touch with me as I’m on there a lot. Microphone: Yes. It’s a phone I use for Skype and it works great over Skype for interviews that I have done but I have yet to test it in game with someone. I have tried direct communication with players before and I believe they have heard me due to reactions but I had no response. Skype: Yes. My username is EspyRock but please add a message if it is DayZ based as this account is used widely and it means I can group users based on the game. Other communication software: Willing to install to play with group. Style of play: Survivor. I want to play with a group who are looking to survive and we can work together. Experience: I am relatively new to the mod with a few days experience. I do have plenty of Arma 2 experience from the past and recently played around 3 hours just to make sure I have the feeling of the engine again. I have watched a good few hours worth of DayZ video content before deciding to join the game. I’ve read plenty of guides and watched some video guides also which have helped me to just jump into the game. My first few games I struggled to find a weapon and water supplies due to players either killing me when I’m unarmed or buildings being occupied by zombies, so I never got too far into the game. I did manage to find other loot such as an Alice pack, maps, compass etc in order to give me some different advantages but lack of daylight and supplies worked against me. Other times I have made it so far with weapons but met my demise through player killings or losing too much blood. When the server went offline due to hacks I set up my own private server, works completely fine with character saving and I have set it up for team play online use through Tunngle (has yet to be tested with another player but it is ready). I’ve spent the last day playing on my private server and have had a lot more luck in my playthrough. I’m currently still alive with around 70 zombie kills, a weapon, food etc. I’ve learnt to cook meat and warm myself up while hiding in the forest during rainy nights. I have played in full pitch darkness but it has resulted in several deaths and scares, the first of which when I ran into a cow haha. The only problem with a private server and a solo playthrough is that the zombies are not so widespread, so every village you enter there are around 20-40 zombies and it is hard to progress. I’ve managed to escape from zombies several times now; the biggest group was around ten that I managed to evade. Now that I have some more experience and the servers are back online, I’m hoping to team up with some people and enjoy a few good sessions.

Your most hilarious "obvious newb" moment..

I started off playing in the dark and I was moving along slowly to a village after finding a flashlight, a bandage and some shotgun shells. I kept looking around me trying to see if there were any players or zombies but it was obviously too hard to tell and I didn't want to use my flashlight. When I turned back around to the way I was meant to be going I ran into a cow. I didn't know it was a cow at the time, I just saw something next to me moving so I ran like hell before turning around and putting my flashlight on it. I calmed down after crapping myself but the noise of me running and my flashlight attracted a bunch of zombies who came up behind me they took me out. Damn that cow.
