A guy with an AS50 and a Ghilly-suite? What would one want with an AS50 in the zombie-apokalypse if not snipe other people? .50 rifles are a more than clear sign not of Bandits, but of rampant murderers. I am a friendly survivor, but I wouldve dropped you in a blink of an eye with my Shotgun. I dont use L85blabla holo-softice-machine weapons. -
Hall already said that different illnesses and special antibiotics will be part of the SA as far as I can remember. I am happy for anything that shifts the games focus more on surviving and player interactions and away from just rampant pvp.

Different Clothings with different uses (isolation, more pockets, armor, weight...) they already started this with the option to put things in your pockets. Rarefication of military weapons and removal of a good bunch of that stuff. I want to jump off my seat when I find an AK-74u or an AK47. At the moment every experienced survivor is building stockpiles of assaultrifles that are not powerful enough for his taste :D More civilian/police weapons. Shotguns, bolt action rifles, pistols and smgs (not neccessarily more fabricates just more in comparison to the number of military weapons). The option to get crafting materials out of items to repair/build other stuff. I want a reason to scavenge small villages in the countryside. Either much more zombies in the cities or some valuable loot to be found in the countryside. At the moment you just run past all theese small settlements. A great variety of utility items to shift the focus of the game back on survival, crafting and scavenging and away from rampant pvp. There are so many options, that can be used to make surviving fun and difficult again. -
We need fewer military grade weapons and especially ammo for these babies. I hope thats what comes in the Standalone, so we can evolve from this military-simulator stuff to a more survival orientated gameplay. If I would find an AK47 I want to look like this: o.O Not like it is now: "If it has no CCO optics its garbage"

In the end the players shoot everyone on sight because they were shot on sight before by other players. Problem is that this creates a vicious circle and kills most of the player interactions that would make the game far more interessting. Players that just sit there and shoot others because of boredome are like tiny little motors spinning the wheel even faster. So I agree with your guys: Give the players more to do, make the game harder and more rewarding and they might do something else. AND reduce the absurd amonth of military grade weapons (snipers assault rifles) :D

I definetely lived longer than some minutes, but after all I wasnt able to properly shake the zombies. On top of that the overall controls and the f***ing inventory freaked me out. I never played ARMA before. I read a guide and than I made my much more successful next steps :) -

Because of my crap notebook I havent played DayZ for some months now. New machine arrives tomorrow, but I guess I might be dissappointed by the game by now^^ Never the less I am really looking forward to play the game with more than 15 fps. Might join a private hive. -
I agree on Angels post. The majority of this cal.50 AM-rifles is not found, its hacked in and then found, by some guy who thought: "Yeah baby yeah, that things goin to make the biggest holes ever!" I personally would hide every single one of them... Maybe we will see a decrease in stupid sniping with a decrease in scripted high-end military equipment... I hope so.

Don't you think the Hitler-comparison is a bit much? In my opinion this should be a game of survival in which the players are struggling together or against each other. I have no problem with a bandit killing me for my Coyote Backpack or because he likes my weapons or because I frighten him. I got a problem with the Deathmatch attitude that, so do i believe, a minority of players are forcing the majority to play. There are some people that think lying on the Sniperhill with a A50 is cool, but I guess the majority of KoS-players is just frightended because of bad encounters in the past. Thats pretty sad and kills a lot of this games potential in my opinion. It is no real backdraw to kill a player, because there is no endgame-content that would encourage teamplay. And on top of it there are all the duped weapons and ammunition making this exact thing even easier. If they fix the hacking and the Alt+F4 in the standalone it will be much harder to engage a player and therefor the pking might drop a bit. All in all I encourage everyone to overthink if he really likes the current KoS-policy or if he feels kind of forced to do it. Maybe the one or the other will change his ingame attitude... -

This could be way more interessting than a pure Deathmatch arena, but in the current state creativity is often killed by greed and k/d-whoring ^^ If you guys wanna play reasonable(no meaningless kos), I am not talking about pascifism, try to stick to it, but if you start doing the same shit than the others, you are not better :) "If everyone KoS I do it too because I am so greedy about my gear." Is an argument, but a rather weak one in my eyes. I really had the hope that this could be a survival game, where a playerkill is a decision to take, not some Quake-Arena on a big map. Sadly the mods best side is also its worst: Players make this game and this is where they brought us. -

I love that commend: "If he is armed I shoot him." That means basically "I shoot everybody." I cant hear the justification "I was shot so often now I kill everybody I dont know." anymore. This is what makes the game experience as worse as it is from my point of view. Either you are a true survivor and only shoot at people you really wanna shoot (Equip, feeling threatened) or you are just a frightened baby without any sort of code. I cant hear all the excuses anymore...basically the most people shoot others without warning because they are so greedy about their equipment that they rather destroy the game progress of some other friendly guy than take a risk of loosing their own virtual stuff. And thats about it. Say it how it is. I dont say we should stop PvP, but kills in this game have to matter to make this game the intense experience it should be. -
Yes, but I as a wounded player would rather PM a whitelisted medic, than posting my position right on the forums waiting for some random guys response :-)

When was the last time you tried to do something new in this game instead of just shoot somebody down? It might be a different point of view, but I rather stay with my opinion of them kidnappers.

Yes it was an armed robbery, what is a good thing, because it shows that there are still people out there who have creative ideas instead of KoS. Just shooting them is increative and punishes them for a really intelligent and brave idea, so yes I blame him.

Referring to a famous quote of "The Wire", I would like to ask you survivors and even bandits alike: Do you have a code? Mine is pretty simple: Dont shoot first. Could stick to it for my weeks of DayZ so far.

In my opinion this story started pretty good with some actually creative robbers. Pretty descend stuff if you consider Snipers that Alt+F4 as soon as they hear return-fire the standard. The guys that tried to kidnap you get my beans for sure. The story is good until the point when you shoot them all. I might be expecting to much from this game and its players, but wouldnt it be much more fair and satisfying to rob their stuff and let them live? Considering that they were really creative and tried to make this a better game? No, you just shoot them down.....like thats the only playstyle in this game. SHOOOOT ANYTHING DOWN THAT MOVEZ!

Sometimes you have to make a step forward, to kinda put the flashlight up in front of you. Sometimes that thing is working pretty messed up.
