I am personally not a fan of the ARMA enginge, nor am I an ARMA player to begin with. BUT Rocket is a modder that has experience with the arma engine and got hired by the company that made that engine...so what the hell do you expect? -
I dont know if some randomly appearing snow wouldnt be too awkward, but fog would be great.

I had no problems finding guns without server-hopping. Just takes some time. Server-hopping kills the game for me, so I dont do it. People complain that there is not much to do but gearing up and then they even want to shorten that part :) I dont quite get it.

Military bases is where the usual crew goes. You can find mainly M4s there. If you are smart search the cars (especially the blue ones). I found stockpiles of Mosins on the seats of car wrecks.

Good evening people, I would like to make a litte list of items you spontaneusly want to see in the SA. I know such topics already exist, but I personally got some ideas in my head after playing my first hours of DayZ. Rope and grappling hook: I would like to have the ability to lower myself down from a roof instead of using a ladder. First because it is cool and second because some buildings have no ladder to climb down. An additional possibility could be to climb up walls of buildings or destroyed stairways with the thrown grappling hook.

Everybody loves hot chocolate! I saw them in May in a very tiny club here in Germany. 300 people and the house was full. Pure insanity, the crowd went ape-shit. At the end of the evening me and my girl were dripping of beer and other mens sweat. I love the band and am listening to their whole discography ever since. I think its an absolute difference in atmosphere if you see a band as support and if you see them in front of a crowd that actually is only there for them. -

There is a reason why Clutch-Songs are as well in Left4Dead2 and The Walking Dead. That dirty Stoner is just too fitting for the post-apocalyptic setting. Clutch - The Regulator (The Walking Dead Season 2 finale) Clutch - Drink to the Dead Clutch - Electric Worry (Left 4 Dead 2) Also one of the greatest bands you will ever be able to see live :) -
The mosin, because it feels way cooler as a weapon in a zombie survival game. I just need a pistole aside of it and i am good to go. I dont hunt players, just to clear that up.

In my opinion this issue should not have any priority at the current stage of development. There are a lot major bugs to fix and content to add. Lets just delay weapon balancing issues down the line. I personally cant understand the obcession. Get a mosin. It shoots pinpoint accurate til 500+ meters. -

I am more convinced of this booby-trap and security meassures idea. I personally thought that there could be AI soldiers barricaded in the NWAF, effectively securing "their" weapons, but that would conflict with the "NO-AI"-policy of the game. In the end I really think that such stuff could be added to military buildings and areas to increase the risk of going there, without breaking immersion. Landmines, booby-traps, Barbedwire Fences, electrical fences? and maybe armored (tactical vest, helmet etc.) Zeds. -

Problem is obvious, everybody knows about it, everybody has an opinion about it since 2011. Could we stop having anymore topics about this, because there is not even a need to discus anything. -
step 5. Grow some balls and come over this server hopping bulls*** I dont know, but for me there is plenty of loot if I spawn or wander further inland. Sometimes the server is just running for some time and the coastal towns are all dry. In the beginning I would not try to focus on hotspots, because those are probably looted by some server-hopping genius like the one above. "20 baracks in 20min hell yeah I am the best survivor in the world!"

I personally hope that the game wont have modding tools...Spreading the playerbase out so much like in the mod is something that leads to no good on the long run.

Hmm...y I can understand your point to an extend. Its right that players are no threat if they disconnect, but hey you want to have their loot right? Its pretty difficult to be a good bandit in the current state of the game. I can assure you: If you would try to rob me I wouldnt disconnect. I tried to see only the best intentions in your post, dont let me down now ;-)

My best moments in dayz were some very tense mexican standoffs. I would never trade that in for the times I got shot by some basterds. The player interactions, good or bad, are absolutely worth the risk. I personally think that everyone that just kos every player denies himself and his fellow survivor some of the greatest parts of the game. Think about it.

Hmm when talking about KOS people tend to use the terms "kill" "pvp" and "kos", as if they meant the same. I am against kos and I am discussing it since the beginning of time. At the same time I am absolutely against PvE servers. There is a difference between shooting someone for a reason (greed, afraid, feeling threatened, starving etc.) and just killing everyone on sight because its "fun" or because you dont care about others and want to eliminate he slightest chance of loosing your gear.
