    Yeah mate, was wandering from vehicle spot to vehicle spot on a server yesterday. Ca 15km total. Got 14 spots and not one single freakin car. Will now head back to my camp, get some firepower, 3 Jerry Cans and will wander along the edge of the map. Stealing one car and blow up all the others. Its freakin hilarious how some clans seem to hide the whole vehicles somewhere -.-"

    You Sir came to a discussion and made an absolutly unneccessary commentary without any use for the actual topic, just cos you feel badass. Either you just dont write something in the first place or you make a valid statement. Anything else is just making yourself look stupid

    XWhitemouseX: Exactly my point mate +1 Even if I am a friendly player, who doesnt want to shoot you, I have to make the assumtion, that you as a stranger have no benefit from not shooting me, so I best shoot you first. Its the vicious circle we are in actually and it can just be properly stopped when there are reasons for me to believe, that the person on the other side of my weapon sees me more as a partner than as a threat

    Yes indeed a good start. Thats what i mean. Banditry, murder and robbery make this game the fun it is. But at the current state teamplay has to be encouraged more to make is a viable possibility.

    Hmm it seems not many people here get my point or agree on it. I cant hear the useless advice: "Just shoot them first" anymore. For me this is the main part of the problem. If anybody (atm its like 85%) plays via this philosophy this game is just plain boring. Same goes for "gear up at some other spot and come back to make everyone pay". There has to be some reason to not paranoidly shoot everything that moves. For me this is not the meaning of the game.

    The main problem is actually not bandits vs survivors for me. Its the general shoot-on-sight. I play this game because its freaking awesome in its mechanics and gives much room for creativity. I encourage everyone here to ask himself: "When did i have the most awesome moments in this game?" For me its definetely some rare standoffs with some survivors where after a second someone was talking and all were lowering their weapons to have a talk and team up for a time. This is not possible atm, because 90% shoot-on-sight not because they are all evil, just because the game enforces them too. Banditry, robbery and murder for equipment and even while feeling threatend is absolutely ok and cool, but there has to be a reason to not shoot at each other. Otherwise this awesome game becomes a lame FPS like all the others and that would waste much potential. I never murdered another player til now, but atm i just try to avoid people as far as i possibly can, because there will be no interaction, neither in NWA (haha) nor in the freakin woods. Someone sees me, he puts a bullet in my head. No questions, no reason, no reward. And this is a thing that has to be changed, not banditry. So team up mates and be real bandits and real survivors and try to figure out a solution to this problem if you agree with me. PS: some guy here at the forum picked up some bloodbags and bandages a week or so ago and was running arround cherno unarmed offering medicals over VOIP....he got shot by 3 of 4 players :D

    Dont browse servers via the sixlauncher. Just start it, update and press launch. Use the ingame launcher of ARMA2 to browse servers.

    The medical part sounds interessting to me, but i really think that there are enough high-tier weapons in the hands of idiots in the south right now^^

    Enfield or Winchester?

    Winchester hands down for me. Its a solid gun that can be usefull in the most situations. If you want to hunt players for the lulz get the Enfield, but they will take it from your cold dead hands soon ^^ Am I the only one who thinks assault rifles and other high grade guns are much to common in the game? Not to talk about the hills of amunition. I think reducing both would add to the fun.
  14. I like the way this goes. Seems like the most intense moments in this game are interactions with other players. Sadly they are so rare -.- I was on my way to loot the supermarket in stary sobor together with 2 RL friends. One was having the overwatch with a DMR, the other was our axe-murderer and i was just carrying my m14 arround. We approached the supermarket from 2 sides and suddenly my mate said over ts: "I can here voices in there" and when i finally came to the back of the market i heard some guys talking in german about one of them having an infection and how they dont know how to cure it. Me and my friends discussed for a few seconds about wether we kill them or try to contact. I myself got the most believe in humanity and started talking to them over VoiP and yeah indeed they were pretty scared, but claimed to be friendly. When i entered they were pretty tensed but everyone stayed calm, it might have contributed, that I told them about our Sniper targeting their heads since 2min :) All in all they were quite nice and sadly i couldnt offer them antibiotics, but at least i could give them some tipps and send them for a hospital. For me this was one of the most memorable moments in DayZ so far, because it was intense, risky and it did actually work. I cant understand all the people here boasting how they kill other players for fun. Maybe i am too good for this game.

I do really appreciate the work of the trading groups and I dont want to create rivalism with this people. I will try to have an eye on the trades goin on here and on the persons misusing this platform to betray others.     THIS is how the game should be

    In theory a good point, but let me first loot a new notebook ^^ My game is not working smooth with the current state of the game and i have to find small servers to play...with that fictional changes i could give up playing this. I guess i am not the only one.
  17. Yeah, Clans are some pretty greedy bastards, sitting on a mountain of vehicles like a dwarf on gold. Save the repair-time and effort and just pack 2 cans of gasoline and start wandering the edges of the map. I have been told that it could pay off in finding a clans little garage. Take the most beautiful car and blow the others up :) I am a friendly guy, but i think it is ok to sabotage this vehicle-hoarding
  18. Yep sucks hardcore and i am still waiting for the obligate "Man up pussies its dog eats dog! I would shoot every fucker on sight in a real zombie-apocalypse! This is realistic and i am badass!" -post by some guy just dropping by from his last rounds of the well known military simulator CoD :P At the moment we have to deal with the vicious circle of friendly people getting shot for no reason ----> getting super paranoid and angry-----> shoot other players for no reason I just can encourage every friendly player to not fall into this, but just suck it up and try to stay mature and play the game as he thinks its supposed to be. You get shot by assholes, but you will also get some pretty desced and fun situations out of it. Just had a mexican standoff with 2 friendly guys in a supermarked and we all came out alive.

    Absolutely NO I personally think this takes the topic a bit to far and furthermore i dont want an open discussion in the media wether or not this game should be set on an index. The adding of killable child-zombies is unneccessary and really ethical questionable and will lead to more problems on the long run.

    I honestly doubt. Maybe i got more faith in humans, but i am pretty sure they would meet each other with paranoia and a lot of respect, but would not shoot any other human beeing on sight. That scenario is hilariously unrealistic i think. I am the last one stating that PvP should be removed. Its what actually makes this game, but PvP should be more weighted up than it is now. A playerkill should matter. At the moment i kind of have the feeling that a huge group of people shoot players like they shoot zombies. And now i got to work ;-) Have a nice day

    I myself are pretty concerned about the direction PvP is moving in DayZ. This game offers you great room for emotions and atmosphere what is generally the thing the most people love about it. Many of you are talking about not to punish murders because it restricts the player in his decisions. Thats absolutely right. BUT at the moment many players that wanted to play quite friendly survivors at the beginning are forced into the life of a paranoid murderer, because they made the experience, that they get either sniped without any reason or get shot on sight by other paranoid madmen. There is no weighting of pros and cons or decision making process wether to reveal yourself and talk to a stranger or just shoot him in the back of his head. For 75% of people its shoot on sight. 25% just like to play it deathmatch-style, the other 50% are just super paranoid because the last 3 times they tried to contact a player they got instantly shot. This is the main problem and i think it kills much of the games potential and fun actually. I am absolutly ok with bandits that kill players for their equipment...but there has to be sence and decision behind it. I hope you got my point. We dont need punishment for bandits, we need more reasons to team up and to not shoot people. Maybe i am just one of the altruists, but instead of busting arround with: " I racked up 13 murders just with an axe last life" I say: "I never started a firefight until now" and i am pretty proud of that. Btw: Thanks to the cool germans inside the store, who did acutally stay calm when me and my friends entered ^^ Was kind of a mexican standoff but these situations make this game great
