Actually, it has been suggested before. For the life of me, I can't find the thread, but I was surprised at how many people thought this was original. Just trust me on this one. Not that it's a bad idea, of course, but I think this would make DayZ just a bit (and I honestly mean just a bit, not being sarcastic or inaccurate here) too much like a pirate game rather than a zombie apocalypse game. I can already picture people making photoshopped images and jokes about pirate-related things and DayZ.

How about we just randomly select a person at the start of server restart, give them complete control over the server, and instruct them to try to kill as many people as possible? Because that is essentially what you're suggesting here.

In the zombie apocalypse, the thing people should search for the most should be food, water and weapons. It's as if somebody took a bucket full of creativity, dripped some onto the Suggestions thread, and drenched all the rest of them. And before you say that making them super rare would make them fit in, do you honestly think that making them rare makes them any less overpowered? That the mere fact that they will be hard to find and repair doesn't magically narrow blast radii, doesn't make flying a helicopter completely impossible, doesn't make appearing in any open space or condensed area any less a perfect spot for hellfire and brimstone? And most importantly, what in the flying fuck made you think anybody would even consider this?! Did you wake up today suddenly thinking that it is your destiny to make retarded threads, or did someone dash your skull against a sheer rock wall, and then give you a computer?

However, I think that why most people shoot on sight is that people they come across can: a ) wound or kill them b ) destroy/damage the vehicle they're in, if any c ) wound or kill teammates, if any d ) run off and alert enemy groups, if any e ) provide some nice gear

Yeah, the CZ550 is in there, but no high-grade weapons like the M14. Expect to be killed by hatchets and Lee Enfields most of the time.

First, crafting is confirmed to be in SA, and both of those things have been suggested before. And you have no idea how many times.

I always seem to carry way more morphine than I actually need, and on average, I'd say I only break my legs once per life, while I always carry around 4 shots of morphine. Even when my friends break their legs tons of times and I have to heal them, I always have 1 or 2 left over. Strange, isn't it?

You really have no hope unless you manage to get a laptop with a better CPU. not much can be done for that right now. The graphics card is also pretty weak, if you can get a better one than that, then do so.
