I hate to be a nitpicker but this is inception: I assume the proper term would be conception or creation. On-topic: Yes, it is pretty sad that this is no longer as common as it was last year, but I'm hoping the standalone will give more incentive for players to be friendlier. -
If it's on public hives, then yes. Just like the rest of your stuff. Unless it's vehicles and/or tents, of course.

It could be that he's just playing a different mod. DayZero gives you a metallic dark grey inventory background. It's probably that.

idea for more secret stash places for hide loot

I think that #1 is a pretty good idea, but it seems like it relies more on having specific hiding spots available, rather than allowing players to create these spots without them having to be coding in. If the environment was more flexible and destructible, then I imagine that would work very well. But I doubt the engine would allow that. #2 seems a little too hard to spot. Nothing more I can say. #3 is just a little ridiculous IMO. Adding the option to look in the fireplace hole just seems way too specific, and people would look in every single fireplace for loot, thus making the very idea redundant. -

Meh, it would just be people complaining about getting killed. If you want something to aspire to, like maybe -1,000,000 humanity, then just set a goal for yourself. Try to slowly become the biggest bandit on your server, killing and stealing until the server population knows about you. Then try to top the bandits on bigger and bigger servers, etc, if you so wish. -
