Some doors are just unopenable. The only ones you can open are the ones that give you the option to open/close. There's a few loot maps that show you exactly what the lootable buildings in the area look like if you want to Google that. Sadly you can't interact with the axe in the stump (I've mentioned it before haha) nor can you interact with pumpkins. And yeah, no axes for gutting animals. Hunting knife only!

You would need to post your whole rig (specs) so it's easier to choose what would be best for your system.

Howdy, we recently got our hands on a DayZ server and we're wondering how we get vehicles to spawn. I've read around but most of the threads don't have any replies. The server is working, loot is spawning, people can join etcetera but I don't believe vehicles (and heli crashes?) are spawning. What can I do about that?

We've checked multiple spots, we're unsure whether or not they're actually spawning at all since the server is new. 1.7.2.4, 95389. Server has been running for an hour now with random players, it only just got setup. -
When you die, do you keep your Ghillie suit?

No, it goes with your body. If the dead body is wearing it, it cannot be stolen. Clothing packages can be stolen, though. -

Have you tried relogging once you have a broken leg to see if you can respawn then? -
I'm not entirely sure but I don't think DayZ itself would take any joystick compatibility away - it runs on Arma 2.

Haha, yeah. You just click on it and you can press "drop" on the bottom right gear tab - it wouldn't hurt to do that when you put on clothing.

No. Permanent death is one of the best features in this game and adds so much to the atmosphere and how it's played.

I've seen a lot of people using their custom face skins and eyewear on their player models just fine. I was told about it recently and found a few guides on how to customise your face/eyewear too. I don't think it's against the rules since it's only a little customisation - something that you can't really do beyond the face/skin of the player model you're using. If servers deny you entry that's fair enough - if they don't then it's clearly not a big issue.

I know some people will claim these confirmed changes like the ammo fix will somehow make this update "bad" because they can no longer get infinite ammo (if they admit that or not) but it's definitely for the greater good and will enhance the game experience for all once nobody can re-attain used ammo clips, etc.

I'm completely crushed about how this game runs on my computer, $30 completely wasted.

The optimization for this game is rather clunky and people with extremely expensive computers seem to even struggle. You should, however, be fine with some tweaking. Like the people above mentioned, play with the settings - ensure your 3D resolution is the same as your other resolution. Set everything to disabled or minimum and then you could adjust your settings higher one by one until you find whatever is draining all your frame-rate. I play comfortably with a i5-3570k and a HD 7870 on very high/high with some settings lowered or disabled by preference. -
I've had a hacker somehow kill everyone on the server or send a nuke into my area. Barbed wire can injure you from past experience too. The symbol you're talking about is "shock" which, as the guy said above, makes you unconscious if you log out whilst it's active. It's triggered from things like being shot at, falling a height or otherwise putting your character through a "stressful" situation.

Ghillie and camo were re-added in a recent patch - I've used two since then and my buddies have collectively used ~4 camo/ghillies. No immediate issues. If you're playing on a server running 1.7.2.4 and the latest beta, I shouldn't think you'll encounter any constant issues. However, logging off soon after using a ghillie may have replaced my pack with my old one (like time was rolled back) but that was either because I had to log off soon after equipping a Ghillie/server related or actually because of the clothing but other than that we've had no issues.

Why does this game take a year to load now?

It shouldn't do, from when I press enter in a server lobby I'm in-game in under ten seconds unless the server is bust. One of my past characters experienced a similar problem where I couldn't ever load into the game for some reason but I went on the last server I *knew* it worked on and got in instantly, respawned out of annoyance and then got in instantly on the server that wouldn't let me before. -

It does the same if you try and put extra stuff (beyond the limit) in vehicles.. or bags too sometimes from what I've seen.

If you have a feeling the PSU might be faulty, try plugging your girlfriend's one into your computer? Mix and match, see if it increases any performance or shows you the faulty part.

Fair enough, I imagine a reset would work, yeah. Try turning on a weapon flashlight or just the regular flashlight to see if it works to make sure the headlights can turn on too.
