First of all, I dont like big discussions. It just ends up OT every time. So please feel free to add more ideas but please do not discuss every single post. Here are probably a few solutions to existing problems: 1. Disconnecting Simple solution - add a disconnecting timer. After a disconnect a player stays for, lets say 20 seconds, then disappears. If interacted with player / zombie / shot, the timer counts down from 5 minutes. Refresh repeatedly if under attack / zombie aggro (after disconnect too). Simple and works perfectly, look @ EvE-Online. They use it since 9 years. 2. NVG's overpowered Another solution - just add a weak point. Maybe you can't look directly into flares or you destroy your NVG (maybe not moddable in Arma). Or just make flares in IR-view super bright so you cant see a thing. After NVG take off your eyes have to readjust for ~1 min to the darkness. In addition, make them powered by batteries. You have to find batteries and a charger, charging takes a long time on a daytime-server. Maybe a solar charger or a fuel powered generator, loud, needs fuel, dangerous, stationary in cities ;) -------------------------------- AND make them (and other things) more random. So players cant just camp / search a few spots for them. -------------------------------- 3. More smoke on campfires 4. Stamina including equipment weight system, so you cant carry 4 wheels + a whole engine with you :D 5. Definitly the ACRE system with handheld radios and some bigger stationary ones with large antennas to be build. 6. Mory stationary stuff so you can settle down a bit 7. More realistic hit and health system. 8. BLOOD TRAILS! To follow players you shot. 9. Combat deafness. And more realistic wind effects on bullets. Makes sniper campers less powerful. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- And random possible helpful items: --> Wired flare traps. Helps players at night for example if they are looting a building. Trap for players with NVG in cities too. [More tactical gameplay] --> Signal pistol. Helps lighting whole areas or finding your friends. [More teamplay] --> Camouflage nets. Small and big ones. You need the net and the bars (out of metal scraps?), too large for one player alone. [More teamplay] --> Weapons that need more than one player to operate or transport / set up. [More teamplay] --> Rain clothes. Nothing more to explain :D --> Non-lethal weapons / bullets. Pepper spray, gas grenades? Slingshot? --> Gas cooker. Maybe to cook the beans :P --> Fueled lamps or small one use lanterns. --> Whistles. AND GAS HORNS! --> Body armor. --> A fishing rod? With accessories to find maybe. --> Exchangable maps with map marking + copy tools. So you can show your mates what you are planning. --> More more more item randomness and variations.
