Honestly playing with a team on this game can get you killed more so than being a lone wolf. If I play it realistically... I'll be by myself in an apt killing anything that moves for the next few hours. I have done this on Lingor as Calamar allows for this time of gameplay. As for a team I can trust? They don't play DayZ anymore because of the hacks and bugs. Even then, the word trust is loosely placed on some of them. Meaning, they wouldn't die for me so what is the point of them even being there? If I am on a team I will die for each of them. This is why I mostly play alone. Plus nothing beats taking on a group of people by yourself and winning.

You might just suck. I can run around Cherno balls to the wall vs 3 players on my own and zed all around and come out victorious.

The video is nothing special. Which is why he didn't post it in the first place. As for the dodo claiming 3rd person isn't viable, then how are we supposed to have spacial awareness? You know, that thing that tells as a human being you aren't alone in an area. That is the reasoning behind 3rd person. Also, if you think soldiers don't lay low and use mirrors all day every day to look around corners and over roof lips, you are high. This is also another factor for use of 3rd person. I love people that would castrate anything that is gold just to suit their needs. They would ruin their own pleasure just so others can't enjoy what they have grown fond of. Fuck you!

I don't care if they spawn weapons for themselves. It just means more for me when I take their lives. And Gunter is pretty fair as far as private hive admins go. I have played on LA private hive several times. One of the better private hives, in my opinion.

I'm sick and tired of all the BS that Rocket says that PVP in this mod is not intended. It is surely intended and is supposed to be as harsh as it is. For good reason, without that evident threat of losing your shit at any given notice this game is nothing more than a shell of it's former self. Case in point. Last night, I befriend a guy named Drew on a private hive. I deviated from my main style of play, which is just to KoS. We bantered back and forth and then I asked him a question... If I arm him will he turn around and shoot me. He seemed sincere, so I armed him with an AKM (I kept the AK74-su). He found another AKM right away and proceeded to give me back my secondary rifle and ammo too boot. Then, he is a like... " I wana go kill some people... I have been getting killed left and right." At this point I have at least 4 murders in Electro and about an hour of play under my belt on this char. We run into a couple of fools and he lays waste. Then we run into a hatchback and proceed to both light it up as it Tokyo Drifts past us. Without even realizing it, I killed two more people in this situation. We run ahead to the car and it is empty. I run into a courtyard in the Electro Industrial area and get wasted. I was tired and really stoned. The point of the story is, if you seemingly have power and the other person isn't a complete chode a partnership can work with complete strangers. Not to say, if I didn't give him a chance for a little bit longer he wouldn't have tried to kill me. But, seeming as I gave him plenty of opportunity to do it several times before I doubt he would have gaffled me. What am I getting at with all that BS? Play like you want, Rocket intended for you to create your own play style. One of his quotes about the Bean Wars strikes home when thinking of this perspective... "Oh, the Zombie Apocalypse isn't going the way you guys intended? GOOD!"

Joe Rogan's Forum - which I am no longer part of (long story). This Ukrainian kid posted the Survivors video and I bought ARMA 2 after only watching that video halfway through. The innovation alone was spectacular. I loved it. Alas, hackers suck. Which is why I barely play anymore. I have been playing the past two or so days for long stretches but mostly on Lingor Island.

Will the test be free (this time?) and will they actually finish it this time? Or, will it be another "mod" situation? "You paid for the alpha test... you didn't buy stand alone... blah blah blah"

If you ever mowed down a whole group of players from that side mounted SAW, you wouldn't be asking that question.

The bandit skin is bad enough. It's like... "in real life bad people would wear middle eastern garb in order for the 'good people' to indicate who the 'bad' ones were." I call BS! What the skin or indicators do, do, is simply create a more hectic environment. Now, with my bandit skin (not bitching... i don't care either way) I don't have a reason not to shoot first, ever! At least, without the skin, I could just go my way if I wanted too. Once again, not bitching... most of you can't aim for shit anyway.

I have been shot before from 7800K blood to 3.5 blood with no bleed out. I killed dude who shot me. I have also been hacked and I left the server only to log on with 1100 blood and had to bandage. 125 blood... whew...

The FAL is nice for both long distance and close combat. The only reason I would take it over the m14 aim is because of the CC aspect. The m14 is harder to use in CC situations. The red dot encumbers your vision for a split second while drawing on the target, whereas the iron sights of the FAL, do not. It is still a toss up, with the fact that the aim is an all around better weapon for everything else. I personally just like the FAL's CC aspect and the fact that one bullet, anywhere, will put you down. I have shot the m14 aim 5 times into someone and didn't put them down. I shot them in the ass, but that is neither here nor there. FAL all the way. In fact, it is what I've had on my live char for the better part of a month.

Honestly, live servers are done atm. I played on my live char last night for a total of 30 mins near Stary (courtesy of a hacker teleport -- it was actually Lopatino but that is neither here nor there). I saw no one. There were 38/50 players on the server as well and out of about 30-40 mins of sitting at Stary not one player came by. I know if I ran back to the coast I would run into someone, but honestly I didn't feel like it. I hope they have some plans for the live hives. But, in all honesty, it will be too little too late. This game will not be like it was a month and a half ago. Oh well.

For me it would have to be.. "Your parents are meth-heads that probably raped you as a child. That is why you hack." He decided to try to crash a helicopter into me, I survived. He then decided to drop satchels and grenades onto me (like 5-6), I survived. I was in the barn in Prig on the mid level. He teleported near me with an SD m4 and shot at me while I was telling him I am sorry that his parents used him as a fifi and probably traded him for drugs for rental purposes. I survived. He had the nerve to tell my friends, after I had left, that I was the dick. The nerve I tell you!

I started in late April. It was magical. So magical in fact that I had to tell a friend. A friend that I had not spoken to in over a year, about the experience. He ended up picking up the game and we eventually teamed up. We roamed around death after death to places like Stary and NW Air. I remember the first time I found the Stary tents. I didn't even know what they were. Or how dangerous the area could be. I cleared zombies with no concern for what other monsters it might attract. I also hid from players. The adrenaline rush just from that aspect alone, was intense. I was green, obviously. It was fun, though. Another person joined the ranks and we had a three man team that would play almost nightly for the better part of a month. This is when I started realizing something. Fire fights with other players were exciting and are not to be avoided but nurtured. There is nothing like engaging someone in a standoff. Especially if there is vocal banter between the two parties. Those are the cherished moments. Around the same time, I was accepted into a great team. Soon, one of my friends from our original group followed. This is where I learned the ins and outs of DayZ. I was still sort of new to the game (about a month and a half in) and didn't really realize then, that your gear doesn't mean shit. Your stats don't mean shit. The game is about experiences. Experiences, that you enjoy. I myself, love the uncertainty of a fire fight. Especially, if I am out numbered and under gunned. So now, I just mainly avoid zombies and stalk and hunt players. I don't want your gear. I just want to satisfaction of knowing that I outsmarted another person. And, when I do get jacked, no matter if we talked shit or not. I will almost assuredly say... "Good Fight." That is my DayZ experience.
