I usually try not to engage hackers, but this one was special. I usually just esc, abort as soon something is fishy. i.e. teleport, SD burst coming from thin air right next to me. You know, the regular hacker shit.

I honestly hope for the out of map teleport now. That way, I'll just abort and spawn in on the coast with all my gear. Thanks for the teleport, assholes!

PH are popular now, yes. I myself used to hate them. But, since the rise of scripters, I have chosen to play on private hives mostly. The last time I went onto a live hive server I was in Cherno for 10 mins with my FAL guy and was teleported to Lopatino with a box spawned in front of me. Out of 45 players, the hacker picked me solely to teleport. I hit esc, abort, almost instantly. I then went to a different server and ran toward Stary (haven't been there in months) and looked around for heli crashes (need FAL mags). I am now just sitting in a bush outside of Stary with my FAL. My live hive char is about two weeks old now, I am guessing. The private hives are much better suited for this hack fest we are going through. They actually have the right to protect their server. As for admin abuse on private servers. I am sure there is many abusive tactics used by private server owners. I do not care, as long as they don't teleport me or strip me of my weapons. Anything besides that they will need to face me and I am willing to oblige.

Around the same, if you are going to connect to southern west coast servers. But, higher than 200+ if you want to connect to a northern east coast server.

It's quite funny how OP's thread is bringing out the "best" in people. OP is 100% correct with his assertions. The funny thing is, most of you are so far up Rocket's ass that even the light of logic can not, and will not, ever reach you. When this hot"fix" was first released on 8/10. The statement made, was that the real patch (1.7.2.3) would be out within the week. In fact, I remember it clearly. Rocket posted some snotty thread about how we bitched enough for it, so here it is. Followed by a statement about how we should not bitch if we could not find a server to play on, over the weekend. I also find it funny. How Rocket went from this guy of the masses. A real down to earth Joe. Then, when the game concept sold(out), Rocket decided to flip the script and slowly but surely (not so slowly) he became the very thing (seemingly) that he stated he wouldn't become. A corporate h00r. Now, I know I'll get a lot of guff for this, but it is the truth. It's been almost a month since the last "patch" and over what, two months since the last build patch? Enough is enough. I say to you, Rocket. Stop flying around to dinky conventions peddling your BS and start flicking those coding fingers. Or, better yet, hire a team with all the new found BIS money you have gotten. And don't BS -- I bet you sold the concept for a pretty penny along with creative control -- good on you for that one. The whole thing stinks and is on the verge of fizzling out. I'll laugh when a few developers, with real creativity and drive beat you to the punch and create something leaps and bounds above anything you could have thought of. I personally have lost faith in Rocket's words and I know I am not alone. It's time for Rocket to start owning up to his original statements. It's time to start placating to the right people. And, the fair thing to do would be to finish what you started. No, not the standalone at another premium. But rather, finish the mod build and also put forth all your efforts into the standalone. I know this would take a team twice as long or just having a larger team working on it. Frankly, we don't care how you get it done. We just want it done. We are the consumer. We make or break you. Don't get shit twisted. This isn't about entitlement. This is about what is fair. DO NOT GO THE WAY OF CORPORATE BS. I will boycott just out of principle, if you do this. So, what have we learned? Well, we just want what is fair. We bought a stale game, to playtest a mod that is in Alpha. What is preposterous, is the fact that this mod will never leave alpha. I mean, why would it? From a business standpoint it doesn't make sense. Basically, JUST DON'T! Just do what you originally said you were going to do. Finish the fucking mod, and complete the stand alone for those that would want it. As it stands now, I will not buy the standalone unless you finish the mod, first and foremost. This should be everyone's stance. That is, if you are a real human being and not just some sycophantic pleb. That is all.

No, there really shouldn't be. It is my choice if I want to take someone out, for a variety of reasons. Why do I have to be labeled as a "bandit?" It makes no sense. Especially if you are vying for realism. In the post apoc, there would be rampant murder everywhere. Most wouldn't trust anyone and opt to either hide or be extremely wary of anyone they would see. This game is not a DM, I agree. But, it is a PVP based game, first and foremost. You think Rocket took away guns for the newbies? No, he took them away because he thinks this game is still too easy. If you don't believe me, read up on his comments. He has said numerous times that this game will never punish "banditry," as well. The best you can hope for is a skin (which I feel is going too far in placation but, whatever). This argument is rather tedious and you are never gonna make any headway. Face it, we are both here to stay and I bet money that 8/10 times I will get the drop on you. And, in the end, that makes you and anyone like you, QQ. I'm sorry, but I'll try hard to miss every other shot to give you a chance to enjoy that hatchet you just picked up. The only reason for this, is because they are a better players. So, let's mark them for distance visual queues, right? If the carebears had their way, the bandits would glow bright pink and be stuck in a prone position after taking shots. Also, once they hit one of the carebears, it would be reverse damage, because how dare we ruin their fun. =/ Do you see the slippery slope? I hope so.

You are not your pixels. With that in mind, go out and have some fun. Understand that this mod, will never be fixed. Nor, will it ever even leave alpha stage. The new standalone version is being released in the next few months as a prebuild alpha product for another premium. (I say another, because most of us bought ARMA 2 for the DayZ mod) With that said, just play in and around the coastal cities. Don't worry about gathering supplies or weapons. You will eventually find a groove and can find enjoyment in something, in the game. If you can't, then you are an unimaginative motherfucker and need to go back to CoD.

This can happen for a variety of reasons. One, there is code that tracks your interaction with loot on previous servers (live hive servers only) and makes you wait when you go to another server. Two, the server is lagging and/or the hive as well. Three, there is a script kiddie in the area. When this happens, you will usually see loot and zombies alike disappear right in front of you, among other things.
