Now in my opinion that is how it should be. You'd be at an inherent disadvantage at night, resulting in the inability to see. That is why we have glowsticks/flares and NVGs -

I am in no way saying remove the option to change brightness, I'm merely speculating. -
And I never asked you to. And such things are not possible in video games. Adding more "realistic" things will not help. The game is extremely immersive with all the possibilities. Players that want that atmosphere will take it to the game. Such as crazed axe-murderers roaming Cherarus, groups of traders, or, anti-bandits. I can go on with the numerous things you can accomplish.

Hopefully this gets bigger, but you'll definantly need a way to be unified. Treat it as a clan and not a collective belief, and it'll be much easier to grow. Perhaps have patrols sent into bandit territory, etc. Would be quite fun to see. I'm a bit of a dark grey, so I won't be joining the cause. I tend to turn to banditry more times then not, though I may help someone. -

I do not believe a player should be able to do ANYTHING in a game. There are plenty of unique situations that can turn out. As said previously you could be captured by slavers, or perhaps capture slaves of your own. Maybe attacked by bandits, or saved by a medic. You could be robbed by a thief, or steal a car. I have even seen a video in which somebody is taken and forced to fight another player to the death, in order for a chance to join a group of survivors, or be given NVG's. Those situations are what makes DayZ special. Not horrifying NPC encounters.

What emotions do you believe are attempting to be conjured up? I feel it does a great job of fighting against all odds in order to survive.

It's much harder to train your eye to spot camo, and bet on the risk, that maybe, that really is just a bush, much different than a giant green sign saying "I'm over here! Here!" The issue with changing your playstyle to deal with the unrealistic benefits snipers have, is not realistic and can break immersion. The ability to see yourself on the map destroys the need for a gps (A rare piece of loot), and the crosshairs destroy rangefinders and the need for a spotter (Unrealistic and another rare piece of loot). Why add these things if it was intended to give these advantages? -

There is also the issue of the zombies becoming near negligable, you can see their and makes avoidance 10x easier. Certainly the PvP is an equal playing field (although anyone with a sniper is nearly invincible). Considering that they can hit anything with an exact reading of it's distance. Would it not make much more sense to all use the same kind of server? Besides the fact that you may play and never run into a player, making the npcs the only threat. -
Was this before the nerf to the double barrel? Now it does such a small amount of damage, I'm not sure it would knock you out. I don't exactly see how this was karma, though. Seeing as he still got all your loot. At least you made off with the UAZ. Any loot inside it?

Respawn button is gone, and once alt-f4 is fixed, it won't be an issue. Sorry, I forgot the title of the video, but I blieve it was linked somewhere on here. Search "DayZ slaves" on Youtube perhaps?

This game isn't meant to be friendly to any gamer. While I hate the term casual, rocket has called this an anti-game several times. -
I haven't read the comics, so I wouldn't know. But i do enjoy the show. You are meant to survive the zombie apocalypse in this game, This game already has the ability of slavery (I believe we've all seen that video). This game is a sandbox, if you want to capture fresh spaws and force them to fight to the death, that is a possibility. I do not see what needs to be added, that would not be unneccessary and drive players away.

I play FPS games occasionally, just not on the PC(I play this game and occasionally another), so yes, perhaps that is an issue. But I'm positive every kill you have is not a headshot. Headshots are inherently difficult, which is why it is so valued. But go ahead and try to take on a player with an AKM or Winchester with that M9. You will not win, unless you are extremely lucky with a headshot, or extremely good and can focus on hitting him in the head while being riddled with bullets. I know I wouldn't bet my life on my ability to hit someone in the head with the M9, while being fired on.

I've always preferred a deeper feeling of horror, rather than just simple "Boo!" and gore scares. I'd love to watch a movie like this game, look at The Walking Dead, I Am Legend, or The Book of Eli (with zombies). Those films give an authentic feel of suspense, rather then selling itself out for a cheap scare.

I love a good horror film. I don't play too many horror games, as quite frankly most of them aren't frightening and are rather boring. I do not consider DayZ a horror mod at all. Not too many people play this game for the horror aspect. This game isn't frightening in the "traditional" method, but rather highly tense, which evoke feelings of terror. Such as being fired upon, or seeing that glowstick in the distance.

It's meh for Zeds, and after the nerf, it will do such a small amount of damage to players it will be laughable. Try headshots on a player that is moving, and firing back..

3rd person was in no way made to be exploited by seeing past cover. It was made for those more comfortable with a 3rd person view, not for exploiting past corners... -
The positives outweigh the negatives. Seeing people constantly suicide so they can get Balota/Elektro/Cherno is extremely annoying.
