The players have to be within a certain distance. I think it kicks in at 80m but is very hard to hear. The closer you get to people the better you hear them. But clearly they need to reply by MSG or chat. NOTE: A lot of people don't like to comm as it tells people you are within distance to be hunted and killed.

The Backpark ALWAYS reverts back to what was in it about 3 hours ago. I got rid of all that stuff and replaced it with Meat. Played on for about 1 hour. Logged out. Logged back in later to find the meat gone and all my old stuff back. This only started happening today. If i move the meat to my other storage areas they stay there saved. Weird one. I wanna get a new backpack and see what happens. But it just happens that they are the most difficult this for me to find. Infact i don't think i have ever seen one. Always have bog standard one.

Make sure you update the '_runA2CO_beta.cmd' (Right click and Edit) file to contain a ';@dayz' within the 'RUN' section (At the end of the file) Should look something like this: "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca;@dayz" The .cmd file should be located here: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead Give that a go. Also download the latest beta patch here. http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php The first link at the TOP.

Did u update the.cmd file [cannot remember name right now] with ';DayZ'? If not it prob won't launch.

Ok, so i should always update it? right now i am a couple of versions behind. 94103.zip. Will that resist the servers i can join? Or does the Dayz version only matter there?

[/quote'] What exactly does the arma 2 beta patch do? It is completely seperate from Dayz in terms of it doesn't fix any mod stuff? I have installed it. Just wanna know what it does? 1. My aiming sights seem to have gone, any idea why? how do i get them back? (The green sight you see infront of you when you aim without right clicking) I use the M9 and AKM. Please help. Its so hard without them.

Well personally i always remove the older files and move the new files over to the "addons" folder' date=' Just to make sure of a clean install. As for knowing what version of days you are running .... I'm not too sure, I just know im running DayZ v1.7.1.5 because i remember downloading in & that's what servers versions i always join, I'm also running ARMA II beta patch v94364, This you can see when you first start the game in the bottom right. How long does it take to get a Car etc up and running. Not that i have tried this. But it seems like it would take a long long time. I have not even seen anybody use any type of transport. Are cars and Heli's the only types available?

Just so i know in advance. When a new update is released how do i update to it. Do i just download it and place the new files in the 'Addons' folder overwriting the old ones? How do i tell what version of Dayz i am running right now?

OK thanks for the help. Next time i login i will try this out. If i meet someone named DALLAS on the map i won't open fire, :). Not that i would hit you as i had no crosshairs on last time i looked. Impossible!!! Hoping its a server thing.

I might be playing on a server like that. i really need to look at the stats on a server other than how full it is next time. Is there anyway to Bookmark servers so i can get back on good ones without having to scroll through the whole list?

OK, so if i use F to change weapon (this works fine). Do i then change ROF by pressing F again? Can ROF be changed with AKM? Thanks
