They need help with what exactly? Zeds? Please, they are ants. Other players? Which ones do you help? And in the end you're probably going to be shot in the face anyway if they see you, even if you helped them cause they won't know if you don't want to kill them too. And even if they don't see you instantly you might get shot 30 seconds later by the people you've just helped. You are telling fairy tales sitting on a high horse trying to make yourself look better compared to everyone else. Since everyone else is playing "easy mode" according to you. -
Are zombies anything more than a nuisance?

Zombies are 0 threat. Just run around corners, bushes and trees with timed crouch running and they never hit you and you always loose them. They only thing they are good at is running/hitting/aggroing through walls and telling you if there are players in a town/whatever you're approaching. -

Like what sneak up to them and tell them you're friendly and then get shot in the face/back the moment you stop aiming at them? Try to avoid being seen by a guy you clearly see and can shoot? In the next few seconds you might loose the sight of him and he will shoot you instead. Of course there are those situation where you can assume the guy is no threat, like if he's clearly walking in an opposite direction or just spawned, but most of the time it's either shoot or be shot. If not right now then in the next 30 seconds. -

Just fix the server hopping, disconnecting in fight and duping, reset all chars and tents and set smaller spawn chances for military loot and it should be good. -
When? Right now endgame is "I'm bored, lets fuck with people".

So your definition of difficulty is just by how much you're dying? Cause that's all you're getting in your normal and hard difficulties. Following your logic running around electro/cherno with an axe is the hardest possible thing to do. -

Agree with OP. But first you'd have to get rid of duping and reset all chars and tents. If a group of 10 people finds a DMR, they all have it in a matter of seconds. Plus you'd need to fix the zombies so you can actually fight them in melee because right now you're just swinging randomly at randomly running olympic runners, unless indoors but that's to compensate for how buggy they are. Zombies are 0 threat. You just run around corners and loose them. Or crouchrun through bushes/pinetrees. Zombies are so bad you don't have to fight them unless there is nowhere to loose them and they are standing on something you need. -
My goal is to find a gun and kill people since that's exactly what this game is rewarding. It's the most efficient way of gearing up and surviving. Don't like it? Change the game. Otherwise it's just a few people trying to do something else when everyone else is playing FFA deathmatch, which is gonna end up in a disaster and wasted effort.

I love how DayZ invented survival, eating, freeroaming, permadeath, large map and zombies. You should add weapons to the list so you can say that wolfenstein copied dayz and they are lying about being first in development. -

People are bandits because there is absolutely no reason not to. Better chances of survival, better loot and you can shoot people for fun. Shooting people on sight is the supported playstyle. Free For All Deathmatch Unless You Know The Guy is the gamemode of dayz, not a "particular playstyle to choose". Something should be added to the game to make people think "should I kill that guy or walk away?" and another thing to make people think "Should I stay away from that guy or should I try to team up with him?" Nobody asks these now (unless it's your first day), you see someone you shoot him. -
Hahaha oh wow. Watch out we have a badass over here. A real ELITE of dayz. So first of all you are barbwiring every building in the game to make people better at the game? What a frigging joke. You do it only to be an asshole, there is no other reason for it. And the way you "oh lol adapt" to barbwire spam is to server hop through it. I see you are promoting healthy behavior. And "adapting" to "Free For All Deathmatch Unless You Know The Guy" is to do what other people are doing, shoot on sight. People already do it.

This is the reason most of the time for shooting on sight not that "he's a threat" smoke. Most of the time people could back off and avoid killing but they don't just to ruin someone's fun.

There is no penalty for killing people = no reason not to do it. They can have beans/water/ammo. = kill and loot They have a weapon and are too close for comfort = kill I'm just an asshole and want to ruin that guys day = kill for fun and never loot him

I want people who are telling people to "get a toolbox" to remove a wire from a small corridor. The dialogbox is the size of a peanut and if the wire is inside a building it often lands in a wall. How are you going to remove it then? Your super toolbox is useless if you can't access the dialogbox. And with the server hopping now the barb wire is not a blockade but a nuisance. You don't have to remove 3 layers of fencing to go through it. You just server hop through it. It doesn't help anyone at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't killing your own always considered bad? And since there is a handful of people wouldn't people try to avoid killing the rest of the humanity without a serious reason? Killing people for a bandage is cool for you. And crazy people don't know they are crazy. It's unrealistic to have a conscience and feelings and them having a negative impact on you. Are you that disconnected from reality? Oh I've tried and then I said, fuck it. Done trying. And I've never ever heard anyone saying "friendly". Plus all those threads saying "fuck it, going bandit" kinda prove that it's not working. And I'll start killing people for absolutely no reason. Okay. The entire "maybe he's a threat to me" is a smoke, when we're talking about killing people on sight. We're not talking only about situations where you are in danger.I have no problem with shooting people who pose danger to you. That shouldn't be penalized no matter what. But we're talking about killing on sight here. -

Someone's a threat/enemy you take him out. That's why there needs to be a good system that's going to punish only unprovoked killing and not too much either just enough to make people think "Do I need to kill that guy?". I've never met a friendly in this game unless I first talked with that guy on a forum or whatever. Ever. Seems to be everywhere I've played. Everywhere I've played it seems to be "shoot first or die" I've tried at the start to be friendly. People would just use the sound of my voice saying "friendly" as target indicator. -

So in an extreme situation people start killing each other for fun. Because that's what's happening right now. Killing, betraying, stealing, abandoning, and cannibalism is out of necessity not for fun (unless you're a psycho). And even then you are haunted by what you did, and might go completely apeshit. -

I guess the concept of morality is unfamiliar to you. And please don't go to that "is he a threat to me?" smoke. It's shoot on sight, regardless of someone being a threat or not, you admitted to that. See you don't care at all. You are a psychopath. You have issues in your head. People with issues in their heads suffer from a number of consequences and that's what we are asking for in the game. Wasn't the game supposed to be realistic? How is it realistic that everyone is a psychopath? Because maybe they didn't shoot on sight and got killed because they hesitated or tried to approach that person? Tried shouting "friendly" and go shot in the face? Did you think about that? -

What we want is people asking themselves "Do I really need to kill that guy?" before pulling the trigger and the answer to that question not being "Well, I don't care, it's not like there are any downsides of killing everyone you see" The question isn't "are they a threat to me?". There is no question. You see someone and you kill them, nobody cares. The whole "is he a threat to me" is just a smoke. And you also fail to realize, we are respawning. We live another life with experience from our previous lives. After getting shot in the face few time after shouting "friendly" you start shooting on sight too. So there are more and more people like that. And rightfully so because "free for all deathmatch unless you know the guy" is the gamemode of this game and if you don't follow it you die. -

Am I a threat running around cherno freshly spawned without any weapon? Am I a threat being 500 meters away and running in opposite direction? And is the law seriously the only thing stopping you from killing everyone on sight except your friends? And it wasn't an insult I'm trying to make you use your braincells since you seem to think that shooting everyone you see and trusting everyone completely are the only two options. The reason why it's "free for all deathmatch unless you know the person" is that there is no penalty for it, while in real life people (at least a part of them) aren't psychopaths and actually have a conscience which we lack in video games because nobody cares what frags feel. You want this to be more realistic, add the thing we lack in game, conscience. -

If law is the only thing stopping you from murdering everyone on sight seek help immediately. Murdering everyone you see without them posing any threat to you and trusting everyone completely are not the only two options. Is your brain binary or something?
