Oh okay I thought it would be automated. Won't that create a massive amount of labor tho? There's quite a lot of players. And sometimes I'm changing servers a lot cause they're either lagged, even tho it doesn't show high ping, or there is pitch black night even tho the name said correct gmt or I simply can't join and get stuck on loading. If this is going to be as accurate as you're making it look like I'm okay with it. -
Why waste ammo on zombies? Just run through a pinetree or a bush and crouch run for few seconds after you've passed it. You can do the same with corners around buildings. It usually takes 2 bushes/trees/corners to loose every zed.

This is even more punishing normal players. What if I'm trying to find a server and keep logging in and out (leaving due to lag, whatever)? Then why not "try" leaving the people on the server for 10 seconds then? After proper implementation, the one that doesn't kill the hive. Why not use the system that many other games use? I'm not getting it. So people with bad internet and crashing system don't suffer for it? Maybe they shouldn't play a game with permadeath? It's like playing diablo3 hardcore with a crappy internet. Yes some legit players will die because of that. That's the trade off, but the number is small. Unless you get dced in a firefight or really close to another player you should be fine. Zeds could do 0 damage to a disconnecting player if you want the legit players suffer less. -

I honestly don't believe that 84% of deaths are due to zeds that I can completely ignore. Okay. But not to the point where you threat them only as an indicator if there is someone in town. Once you get the hold of the game and can treat zeds as insignificant pest only the pvp is a challenge. And when you go to stary or an airfield you are not afraid of the zeds but of players. Agree on that but "zombies have little to none impact on an experienced player" is not a hyperbole. And this whole "zeds are a joke atm" is just a feedback we're giving after testing an alpha. Not whinning. -

Yes. Because I have a conscience. But I would do it only if it was justified i.e. defending my own or someone's life. I have no way of knowing how would I feel after killing someone, maybe I'd be traumatized and develop a mental condition, maybe I would cope with it well. No way of knowing. People with morality and conscience think that murder is wrong and they would feel bad about themselves ("I'm a horrible person") if they'd commit a murder. Kinda how you could consider yourself a good person but then tell someone who needs help to fuck off. You'd feel bad about yourself. There are norms, depends what you're referring to. If we're talking about morality, normal people can function within a society without harming others. It's something we have developed as herd animals over the years because we've always had the best chances of prolonging the species in a group that takes care of their own. And in order for the group to survive its' members needed not to destroy the group. The groups got bigger but the idea is the same. -

Yeah zombies are doing something to people that have no clue what they're doing and they are going to die several times before they learn. And then you have falling down from 3 steps and dying. Stepping on a rock and dying. Dying for no reason at all. Walls and doors killing you. Dieing on another server after getting shot and relogging. Maybe that's where the majority of PvE deaths come from? Because I can't understand how can someone die over and over again to zeds which I can easily ignore most of the time to the point that 84% of deaths would be to zeds. Players being the main threat doesn't justify zombies being just indicators that there are people in town. -

It's not about winning it's about bullying people. They get bullied in real life so they want to bully someone else, and the only way they are not getting their asses kicked is to do it via internet. -
Yeah we die that way but much less if we try to talk to people or let them roam around us and get shot when they see us. What does it have to do with anything? There's never going to be anything like that. Unrelevant scenario. People and supplies didn't respawn? I don't think anybody has done it yet but what do you think would happen if you'd put a bunch of people without conscience (since we don't sympathize with frags) in an enclosed environment with limited supplies and guns lying here and there? This game needs some kind of encouragement for grouping and disencouragement for killing.

What does everyone do in DayZ's "end game"?

PvP. There is nothing else to do once you no longer need loot. First, every game with development of your character has an endgame (minus story telling singleplayer games). Second, you don't start over, you have a camp with 20 weapons in it. And a secondary one with another 20 on another server. -
I don't mind not being able to recognize who's a bandit and who's not. I mind however how there is no downside of shooting people on sight. Adding "psychological" downside of being a serial killer would make people think twice before pulling the trigger. Of course that couldn't be too harsh, just enough to make half of the people to think "do I really need to kill that guy?" before pulling the trigger. Yeah from like 10 meters. Good luck checking if that sniper is a bandit or not.

This is one of the two impacts the zeds actually have. They reveal that someone is there. Which I think is stupid gamewise. We have running indicators that there are people in town. Just think about it. (if people are shooting zombies, they are doing it wrong) Unless you have your legs broken you don't have to shoot any zombies. Nope. Just run through a building or run around corners or bushes with timed crouch running. You can aggro 100 zombies and lose them in 15 seconds. The second real impact the zeds have. You can't stand on a street and shoot for a long time. That's it. The only purpose zeds have right now is revealing player position (even if they are sneaking don't aggro anything) and forcing you to relocate after shooting but only inside a town. -

What else you want them to do? They are either going to be deathmatching on NW airfield, stary, cherno or electro. There is nothing else to do after you have a camp with tens of guns and some vehicles. -

But their speed is retarded at the moment. It's gamebreaking since they run in zigzags too and clip through you and walls. Right now you can't fight zombies outside buildings or you make the zeds run in circles after you while your friends kill them. It's just much more efficient to lose them. Not only there is no reason to kill zombies but also fighting them in broken to hell. -

Except this game is not about zombie survival. It's about a bunch of psychopaths hunting each other on a large island with weapons and supplies dropped here and there, with angry, ugly olympic runners roaming near villages, but they pose no threat at all if you know what you're doing. -

You misunderstood his point. The game gives you one objective "survive". Well you can get a hatchet, a knife, matches and a water bottle and live forever. But that's boring, and like you said it's a sandbox so people [see his number 6] No sorry that's not the reason at all. I never dc to make zombies disappear and I very rarely shoot zombies yet I never sneak, I just run through the town like a boss. How do I do that? Zombies are piss easy to loose actually. It just takes a bit of time and brain to figure out how. And no glitching involved. Which makes your next point void. I've already explained why this is wrong. You don't need to shoot or sneak when it comes to zombies. They are zero threat even if you don't have a gun. This is actually not a bad idea but it would just end up with one guy running through the town and taking all the zombies with him while his friends take the thing and then do it for him. -

I just sprint through the town and from time to time crouch run after making a turn. You don't need ammo to do that. They run at 200% speed now. How does that change anything? -

I think they should run at 100% player speed but have way better AI and be able to run indoors and also they'd have to take much more hits to kill, there could be also more of them. -

Agree with OP on everything except his suggestions for lategame. Imo this game needs more team oriented PvP. Like 2-3 factions fighting each other. Less FFA DM. Sometimes I crouch run instead of sprinting. So much impact. 90% of the time I don't even have to shoot them. I just loose them. The other 10% is when I can't be arsed to wait few seconds for them to pass or I'm just too lazy to loose them so I kill them. It's like saying flies seriously affect you. Yeah you do flail your hands at them sometimes but they don't change anything. Zombies are trifling. Without them I just wouldn't crouch run for few seconds after passing through a bush or running around a corner. The only thing zeds do is slowing you down a bit. Gameplay without them would be exactly the same for experienced players.
