Loot spawns when you are close. But if you log in and there have been no players recently in the area, lootspawns close to you will not appear. You need to wait.

I'm a hero. I have a big gun. Do you shoot me?
SillySil replied to HappyMushroom's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Kill everyone. No reason not to. -
You are a massive idiot if you think that's the only thing that backpacks do. Both changes would remove something important from the game, increasing the difficulty dramatically. But it's not difficulty. It's inconvenience. Horrible mechanic. You can make the running mechanics like in QWOP and if you fall you break a leg. Wouldn't that be awesome? That would be so much more challenging and all the codfags would leave the game.

Why Do People Kill Unarmed Players
SillySil replied to Gulrix's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Because there is no reason not to. Nobody's gonna feel bad for killing you in a video game. Your ingame life is as significant to me as cow's life. -
Why Bandit skins are a terrible idea.
SillySil replied to RaxUK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The bandit skin is here to balance bandits and survivors a bit. But it's not doing good job at all. People who kill on sight assume that everyone else does it too. Nothing changes for them. Only those who like to befriend and then backstab people are punished because eventually they will get a bandit skin and people won't trust them. But they can just respawn. The only change is that those who are friendly won't try to befriend serial killers (who don't have camo/ghillie) but shoot/avoid them instead. But again, not all murderers have the skin. So it's not that big of a change. There needs to be a reason not to kill other than making up your own rules of engagement. Because not many people do that. The reason for it is that most people don't transfer their morality into a virtual world. -
Why does every sniper I shoot at ALT-F4?
SillySil replied to Jackftw's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Because that's the best way of not dieing that's in the game. People will ALWAYS do what's best for them. -
So no continuity? Nothing to do but kill random people and hack?
SillySil replied to Hysterics's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's not that I demand something from them like I'm entitled to it. I'm not, I didn't pay for the game so they don't have to give me anything in return. It's sort of a trade. They give me a fun game to play or a feeling that I'm contributing and I give them as detailed info about bugs and broken or missing features as I can. If not, then I'm out because I have no reason to stay, and I don't expect them to stop me or miss me. But if they do want people to test and give feedback, they need to give something in return. Nobody's gonna waste their time on an unplayable game then waste more time on posting feedback just to be insulted by fanboys and ignored by devs. -

SillySil replied to Hysterics's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah they have jobs. But come on, making a post on the forum about what they're working on and what they know about wouldn't take long. And they probably already have a list somewhat like that anyway. Plus, it would really clean up this forum. Lots topics are about the same thing. And yeah, people who don't actually say what's wrong with the game, clearly haven't been in any alpha/beta test and have no place here. But, if they do say what's wrong, they shouldn't be flamed or anything. They are helping after all. -

SillySil replied to Hysterics's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Ohh yes I love this kind of posts, lets break it down. If they didn't want people to test this, they wouldn't have made open alpha would they? Oh I want to be a part of the development stage. But every time I came here to point out what's wrong with the game, fanboys like you would flame me, call me a codfag or whatever, tell me to stop complaining because it's free and that it's supposed to be unplayable because it's alpha. Doesn't really want me to contribute anymore really... Plus if we don't hear anything from devs, how am I supposed to know that I am helping at all? Maybe they don't care about all that at all? Maybe there is no point posting feedback on the forum because nobody cares? Flow of information only strengthens your feel of contributing and shows you that you're doing good job. Very good reason to keep testing and giving feedback. No they don't. You can't read apparently or think that taking what I said to a retarded extreme will somehow prove my point wrong. I said that a topic of known problems and things that are being currently worked on, would be great and fix a lot of uncertainty as well as it would significantly reduce number of threads about the things that they already know about. This is an alpha test. Important part of the testing is giving feedback. People come to the forum and post what's wrong with the game AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO IN AN ALPHA TEST. Because we are working together? They give me a feeling that I'm helping and I help them track bugs and help them develop the game. Plus what am I getting for free exactly? An unplayable game that's no fun to play? Well, either work with me or give me a fun game. Otherwise I have no reason to help you developing the game. I don't need to be a painter to tell you that this http://i.imgur.com/OgCV6.gif went wrong, do I? -
So, when can we expect a real helpful update?
SillySil replied to opulenceguild@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Even if I said "see? dayz patches influence FPS too" the message of my post would still be the same. -
So no continuity? Nothing to do but kill random people and hack?
SillySil replied to Hysterics's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah I agree. Demanding flawless game while being an alpha tester is retarded. But if they post what the problems are even if they do it in an angry manner, it's a good, valuable feedback. No need to flame those people or try to prove that they're wrong. Just tell them that this and that is a known problem and to calm down. And that list of things that devs know about, would be a lot of help. But it's okay that they talk about it. Thanks to that devs know that the problem is still there. And the bigger the problem the more people will post about it. Why? He gets a lot of feedback, even if people do it in a demanding or angry manner, they pinpoint the problems pretty good. What is he loosing by having open alpha? Plus it got many people to buy standalone. I can't see any disadvantages. -

SillySil replied to Hysterics's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It makes no sense. Take a look at this I don't need to give you suggestions on how to fix it. Hell I don't even have to know how this shit works. Yet I still can say that it's not working properly, can't I? -
So, when can we expect a real helpful update?
SillySil replied to opulenceguild@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's not certain that it's DayZ problem and not his settings. But, if he can run arma fine and in dayz he has low FPS, then it's probable. And it shows that it isn't very probable that it's arma2 problem. So, if he can pinpoint the problem and it's within dayz or devs already know about it there can be a dayz patch to fix it. It doesn't need to be arma patch because there are FPS issues that come from the mod itself. Now instead of admitting at the start that you maybe are wrong (which would keep the conversation on a civilized level), you resorted to incoherent backpedaling and calling me "dawg" among other bullshit. -
Kill people. Otherwise you'll just run around the map for hours and die by a backstab from a guy you were trying to help.

SillySil replied to opulenceguild@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I called you a clown because you behave like one. And this post just proves it. You were wrong that only ARMA2 patches can influence FPS which I pointed out and then you posted some incoherent crap that makes no sense followed by calling me a "dawg" and now you run away from the argument trying to act all cool, but again making no sense. -
So no continuity? Nothing to do but kill random people and hack?
SillySil replied to Hysterics's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have no problems comprehending what he thinks is wrong with the game. Isn't that what feedback is? If not then how the hell do you imagine a "feedback" post would look like? "I love this game, everything is perfect as it is now, there are absolutely no problems with the game and I think it doesn't even need more features unless Rocket says so because I just love the guy and I support everything he says"? -
So, when can we expect a real helpful update?
SillySil replied to opulenceguild@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If he's not meeting the minimal requirements patching ARMA wouldn't help anyway, would it? And there are things causing FPS problems only in DayZ so ARMA patch is not the only thing that could have influence on FPS, you clown. -

SillySil replied to Hysterics's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
How about asking devs to make a pinned topic of known issues and direct all the spammers there instead of flaming and constantly saying that it's "alpha" like it's supposed to be unplayable? Wait what? This is open alpha. Devs expect people to test the game playing it and give feedback about it (which you constantly fight against doing marvelous job at missing the point of alpha testing). Now. If they want people to test it, they either have to make the game fun, work with us, or pay us. If they don't they will be stuck only with fanboys who'd constantly praise the game for being perfect and devs would never know what needs work or what's broken. -

"why won't you do it better yourself" is one of the dumbest arguments out there ever. -

SillySil replied to Hysterics's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You fanboys forget one thing. Nobody pays us to test this. I need a reason to keep testing it. And when I'm not getting paid the reason will either be fun or feeling good about contributing and watching the mod grow. Well sorry but fun is out of the question. As OP described. FFA DM on a big map while being repetitively killed by script kiddies is as good as this game gets. Now about helping this game grow. With the constant flaming from you fanboys in every topic that criticizes something in this game and almost 0 communication from devs I don't feel like I'm working on something and contributing at all. It's like playing a game full of bugs and broken things, coming here talking about those things only to get flamed by you while you hide behind "alpha" and "antigame" and other bullshit while the devs do fuck except adding things nobody cares about and breaking even more things. In conclusion if you want me to test your "alpha" and if I'm not getting paid and I don't really feel like I'm helping this game's development at least make the testing fun. -
Why Bandit skins are a terrible idea.
SillySil replied to RaxUK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nobody forces you to kill anyone. But that's the most profitable thing you can do when you see someone (if you're not looking for friends.) -
Why Bandit skins are a terrible idea.
SillySil replied to RaxUK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Bullcrap. Everyone have been shooting on sight before and is shooting on sight now. Regardless of the skin. Reason for that is that there are bandits without the skin as well as friendlies in the bandit skin so you still don't know who's who. I think the whole skin system is flawed and will never be a reason to stop shooting on sight. And I also think that this game needs something that will make me think "Do I really want to kill that guy?". -
Why Bandit skins are a terrible idea.
SillySil replied to RaxUK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Except most people have a gun on them so you're never going to run out of bullets? The game gives no reason whatsoever not to shoot on sight. Right now the mechanics fully support FFA DM. -
Why Bandit skins are a terrible idea.
SillySil replied to RaxUK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
People still shoot on sight because there is still nothing to loose except few bullets. If they're trying to balance bandits and survivors they should give me a reason not to shoot on sight. Because changing my skin doesn't mean anything if everyone is shooting everyone on sight regardless of skin.
