Some things that ruin the realism of DayZ.

Are dogs worth 2 months of development time?

Where's the option "I don't give a fuck about dogs" ? -
Is KOS really that big of a problem?

I don't mind loosing gear (although I rage hard when I'm killed in illegitimate way). But it's never about gear. Every time I die in this game I feel like I failed. That I fucked up. That I've could have done more. When I'm playing the game I do everything not to die but still put myself in challenging situations, like going to stary/NWA/etc. You don't need to have a death wish to not care about your gear. Trying to make friends in DayZ is like trying to befriend a wolf by binding a steak to your neck and walking up to it. -
urgent - I marked my camp on the map!

There is no subsonic ammunition in DayZ. The SD rounds still make a snap sound when passing next to you. Subsonic ammo wouldn't do that. Science fiction things can be realistic to an extent. The explanation could be "infection" or "magical curse". I'm tired of seeing this argument every time someone mentions realism in this game. The setting is "our current world + zombies". That means everything except zombies is supposed to be realistic. Just because there are zombies or dragons it doesn't mean people should be able to regrow limbs or fly without any explanation for it. -

It doesn't mean anything. You can make the game heal people to 100% for every kill and still call it a sandbox. Just because it's called a sandbox it doesn't mean that some playstyles aren't more valid than others. The point is to make playstyles equally beneficial in-game and then let people choose what they want. I chose to KoS because it's just more beneficial. Safest thing to do and once I get the gear I never have to scavenge again. I just pick up ammo/medical supplies/food everything from those that I kill. Survivors are in much worse spot. -

Your life in game is as valuable as some random zombie's life for me. You're closer and there is a bigger chance that you have beans. -

What are you going to focus on? Hacking and duping isn't going away from the mod. Only the standalone can help with it. -

I don't get mixed with randoms because the chance of getting a bullet in the face or in my back is just too great for me to bet all my gear on it. Even if I'm a freshspawn and befriend someone there is a good chance he'll want something that we'll find for himself. If I make friends in DayZ it's either by this or another forum or their teamspeak. And I'm already playing with friends. Looking for friends in game is like looking to befriend a dog by attaching steaks to your body and running through a rottweiler farm. The point isn't to eradicate PvP it would be boring. The point is to give people a reason not to shoot. To give a trade off to killing people. -

Why do you people assume that we're friendly? We KoS too. We're just don't like that the game favors it. And I don't see how the fact that you can choose your playstyle makes it impossible to balance them. Just give a downside to killing people, since there is no reason not to kill at the moment. -

The difference between getting shot on sight by 80% or 100% isn't something that would stop me from killing you, even if just in case. I already assume that everyone is not friendly. And I cover my ass at all times. -

I like to cry over senseless killing yet I kill on sight everyone except my friends and love firefights in electro. Right. -

That's false logic. It's like saying "the game leaves it up to the player to pick their weapon" in a topic about a clearly overpowered weapon on a forum of some FPS game. DayZ favors killing people. Simply because there are downsides to being friendly because there is always a good chance you'll just get shot, either in the face or in the back. While it doesn't give you any downsides to killing people on sight, except making noise, and that's it. Especially if you already have friends that you're playing DayZ with. It's not about punishing bandits, it's about NOT punishing friendlies. Both playstyles should be on equal footing and only then the choice would be a matter of purely personal opinion. -
Funny how you talk about HYPER REALISM and then talk about "spawns" and ignore everything that makes DayZ a game. There is only so much you can simulate using monitor and speakers and without forcing "players" to stay online 24/7. People would sleep in real life (and be very vulnerable in the process), here they disappear and appear. In real life people have feelings and conscience, here you don't. Even hardcore roleplayers don't "feel" everything you'd have in a situation of global catastrophe like this. If they did, most of them would have severe depression and half would just shoot themselves in the head. In real life, people aren't equally skilled, some run faster, only some know how to use a gun, very few people know how to fly a fucking heli or let alone repair one. Here we are all the same. Once you're badly hurt in real life or you break a leg, you're done. Here? A quick visit to a hospital and you're like new within minutes. In real life in a place like chernarus you'd find 2 handguns in civilian areas not a fuckton. And all the items wouldn't disappear and "respawn". It will always have a good portion of unrealistic things, things that only happen in video games. You can't perfectly simulate zombie apocalypse 24/7.

I am the one directing referencing our argument from the other thread? How about you mentioning everything we talked about in your first post in this thread? Are you just trolling me or what? Anyway, I'm out of this thread. If you want to continue this just post in the thread you made.
