DayZ is FailZ (Lacklustre Infected comment)
Combine (DayZ) replied to Spidey (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
May have missed a similar reply but as for zombies and punching: It kind of makes sense. These are not your classic ZOMBIES ("undead") but INFECTED. I rather like to think of 28 days later than Romeo. -
MY IMMERSION

Kinda funny. Because realistically I'd associate people with military gear to be friendly, considering we also have some military groups (and friendly-ish) operating out there. But that's far from the general DayZ mentality and reality, however. It's simply better gear, also to go unnoticed meaning that you'd be rather perceived as threat, as it's also common. Some more "distinction" could be nice. In the end I guess we should wait for even more clothing and customization. If you'd ask me I'd say that - on first look - people with civilian looking gear might appear more friendly. On first look or glance, that is.

To mods or any other people: Is this really "new" that people demand (being emotional) without really understanding the work or also things like christmas? Also the tags :D

If they don't comply you can still apply lethal force fully or partial after some warnings. Or rather, that's the only option next to "ignore / let them go" if they don't stand still.

Specific question about players freeing themselves, if anyone knows: Does the time® stack or do you have to complete it? In other words: Do you have to wiggle / struggle for the minimum amount of time with no interruption to break free or could you theoretically struggle briefly all the time until you were to reach said minimum time even with interruptions in between?

Stuff will be added eventually anyway. Why? First, due to the sales and some other stuff I can't see this "project" fail any time soon. Which means that 2) the planned features are therefore expected to arrive eventually. And that includes building. Possibly not just player structures (existing or custom things they can place around), but it may also include new places added to the map. Just like the bigger Cherno for example. To be honest, it would be pretty neat to be able to make your own medium or bigger structures. Or to add general places to the map anyone could explore, like said plant or underground areas. Labs. Etc.

Looking for 18+ Mature Group Based in the US Time Zone
Combine (DayZ) replied to Kaiokhen's topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Not sure what you're really looking for, so just a tip. Maybe this group could be something for you: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154457-cqf-chernarus-quarantine-force-recruiting-for-sa/ And no, I'm not a recruiter. But the experience seems nice. -
Dayz - Tried to high-five a guy coming out of Grishino
Combine (DayZ) replied to ticknesh's topic in Gallery
To be honest, I see no real point in taking the video from the other guy and then uploading it on your channel with credit (or did that come after people noted it?). What's the point other than to get views yourself perhaps? -
How would you feel if this happened to you???

DayZ in a nutshell. -
Kill on sight... my group is doing it now
Combine (DayZ) replied to Nariquo (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Kinda funny to read threads where people complain about something but then begin to embarass themselves in the process. Sucks, eh? -
The earlier we mention it, the better, though. Can give more ideas for the future. Also, to avoid copying "messes" into house types I'd advise some sort of manual editing of the landscape / map. You don't even have to do that to every place. You could start slowly by adding that stuff to major areas such as Cherno, Electro, etc. Smaller places may have seen less chaos, were simply abandoned, etc. That way you avoid copy-pasting the same into every house type but also avoid having to place it manually across the whole map. Just an idea.

I support this. Could have more "biohazard" feel instead of "war came and left" or "central anarchy party". Put the Z in DayZ, if you know what I mean. I mean, it's good and all. But could be slightly better.

"DayzOfficialTV" (Youtube channel) ?

It can actually happen quite a lot or well... randomly at least. Saw it myself. If you get the jump on people or a group they're usually compliant. Well, usually. People have to remember that all of these epic moments we like to watch on vids or in the game are not gonna happen if all just DC right away or so. And rotten food sounds nasty.
-
Tear gas? I can see the pun in that name and all those various threads since the mod :D Speaking of gas masks, kinda clipping. Would be nice if, eventually, meshes adapt to masks (if possible). Even if slightly. What else could work: Add other models (will probably happen anyway).

I think no one really wants to ->completely<- remove PVP. (Some) People simply want some aspects that lower the "needless" (as perceived) PVP, or rather, things that directly or indirectly encourage more social interaction, even if just out of despair.

"Bandits" A rant about certain people
Combine (DayZ) replied to TheRedScare's topic in General Discussion
Thing is, it's still a game. And people want to have fun (and / or thrills). You CAN shoot / swing at ANYONE you meet. Yes, you CAN, in some way it's part of the game. But that does not mean that you always ->should<-. The "lone surviva rambo KOS dude" logic also can have some flaws, depending on the situation. Strength in numbers. You can achieve more if you have (competent) people with you. Obviously, in other situations, being on your own or careful can have its advantages. It's wrong to claim that one side in general is the way to play the game or "right". Because it depends. -
While the robbery system is nice it won't work.
Combine (DayZ) replied to ThirdSinger's topic in General Discussion
I like how some project their experiences on the overall game or community. "Yoo, dat is how DayZ yo fuggin carebears" or "Screw yo KOS deathmatch bandit people!". No. Just no. DayZ is not "This or that". It's what you make out of it. You decide. I can do the same: Handcuffing works. Simple, isn't it? But in the end, it's somewhere in between. Fact is: Random people are likely to shoot up others anyway without going so far. Other bigger groups (more than 1-2) can act different. Saw the handcuffs in action a few times already and no, the person was not shot. -
I could actually imagine having two slots max. Still not sure about it all though.

Is it bad to ask people to say heads or tails?
Combine (DayZ) replied to HCommando's topic in General Discussion
Now this is kinda funny. Well, albeit I felt kinda sorry for the guys who supposedly made it but got shot anyway. -
Yeah, it'll probably be there. But also stuff you'd expect a bit less. Firefighting gear or whatever. At least that would be ideal to have in the end: A wide selection of clothing / gear. Customization, it's your story, yadda yadda.

For some reason I only get thirsty. Never got hungry so far. Or maybe that's because I used to eat on a regular basis while in town. Still, after going north I only got thirsty. Hopefully (for us) it will be adjusted by the next update.

where to get blue staff vest
Combine (DayZ) replied to drunkenteddybear's topic in General Discussion
Next time, yell "I'M A JOURNALIST. FREE PRESS MOZZAFAGGAS" as you fire at people. Or fail horrible doing that and getting captured by bandits or so. -
I'm sure the devs got it on their radar. I mean ... it's a zombie apocalypse, so basically anything could be used (clothing-wise). And probably anything can occur. I do like the idea of "biohazard gear". We may have seen some masks, but perhaps a suit (or other equipment) could be added. Less bullet protection but good for avoiding disease (or chance of it), for example. In the end, I imagine many possible sets to allow for customization but also tactics. Just add as much as possible (okay, maybe no clown outfit, but heck, imagine any civ clothing, military clothing, police / firefighter stuff, casual stuff... list goes on. Actually, about that clown outfit ...
