Met a hacker... and I pity him

Actually, I've never had a request for a sniper rifle. That's because sniper rifles are almost exclusively used by bandits for PvP, and the only interaction I have with bandits is them trying to shoot my helicopters down. I have nothing but disdain for bandits, and have not yet killed anyone except for bandits (and that was before my "hacking" days). Irregardless of who I hand out weapons to, your posts have offered an interesting perspective showing me how players that are committed to actually playing the game are negatively affected even if I have friendly intentions. However cliche or dumb it sounds, I really did set out to help, but it appears I have had more negative impact than positive. I'm done with hacking things in for a while, and not just because setVehicleInit and CreateVehicle functions are now logged.

To the homosexual Brazilians on us 1088

I'm still confused regarding how duping and admin abuse = homosexuality.

I get global ban for nothing

You probably tried to run a fake hack that ended up stealing your CD key. If you never ran any kind of software that was supposed to be a hack or tried to make one yourself and sincerely think this is an unjust ban, contact BattlEye support and they will investigate your problem if your request is submitted correctly.

Met a hacker... and I pity him

I don't need that immersion, I am not a hardcore player of this mod. I have no interest in building up a character, only to have it destroyed by malicious "hackers" or some sniper that picks me off while I am fixing a grounded helicopter. That can be your playstyle, but it is not mine, and it is foolish to assert that yours is the only way to play and enjoy this mod. I get the same feeling of success and pleasure from beating the anti-cheat system plus helping other players. Same thing as above, essentially. Especially the part about playstyles, or in this case, completely avoiding intended playstyles and making my own. I'm not going to waste my time with parts of the game I'm not really interested in, mainly the getting sniped after I spend days fixing a helicopter. There are parts of this mod that I really like, and that is why I still play it in my own way. Neither I nor any other "hacker" will just "go play another game" because we play differently from the way you think is correct. Also, I don't think I'm a hero. I don't think I'm anything other than a player that is playing his own way while actively trying to help others. As I stated, I only give weapons and / or items to those that ask for them, my only other function is to provide transport. It is also important to note that it is not particularly important to me whether or not others consider the way I play to be "right". I'll continue to spawn my helicopters and provide transport and items to newbs on the coast, and I won't force things on people like you. I know that posting my opinion is one looked down upon by those that frequent these forums, and bias will be almost entirely against people like me, but that's the consequence of getting involved, I suppose.

I don't mean to sound self-aggrandizing as I have done it myself, but friendly hacking is the epitome of selflessness. In many cases (including mine), these "hackers" buy ArmA 2 just to play DayZ. For whatever reason, they decide to start scripting. They are risking their account / money in an attempt to help you and make the game more fun. I have only ever spawned weapons for players that ask for them, but I have flown up and down the coast in helicopters I spawned to give players rides to wherever they wanted to go. It isn't a plea for attention or thanks, I just like helping people, and "hacking" makes that much easier.
  6. I don't care if someone else thinks my weapon requires "no skill" if it is in turn possible to blow their head off while they are taking time calculating my distance and proper mil-dot.

I was killed by a rock

Chernarus is the home of a rare species of rock known as Trollrock Fuckericus. They lie in wait for unwary players and have a strange penchant for breaking their legs and devouring them whole. They are mainly attracted to players with high-end loot that have rocks as the last thing they worry about.

    A new level of hack.

Yes, the limitations are ridiculous. There are thousands of servers to play on. Sure, some will have abusive admins, but the vast majority don't. If you could hand out global bans, of course the restrictions make sense - but these bans only affect one server. Why is it so bad to allow administrators to administrate? These rules are removing the threat of admins for those that only want to troll other players.
  9. Derp around in the city closest to where I spawn until I gather some loot and head north.

    I love Green Mountain!

The thought of supernatural forces can make anything more interesting. I know there is nothing on or special about Green Mountain, but I enjoy thinking that the rustle in the bushes was an unknown entity rather than a rabbit. A few days into playing the mod, when I was a noob playing at three in the morning, I walked up there to grab some loot. It was dark, and I didn't have NVG's. While leaving, I scanned the area nearby with my flashlight and suddenly saw a dark figure walking slowly towards me from further down the hill. I zoomed in, and it seemed to look at me. Then, it disappeared, but was accompanied by a sudden, loud shriek from some sort of string instrument. Naturally, that gave me a momentary fright. It was only a glitchy zombie and suspense music I had been playing in the background that had coincidentally been almost perfectly timed for the event, but still...I feel like I shouldn't go there.
  11. I don't see why this is such a problem. He is not going around shooting noobs from a helicopter, he is playing the game how he most enjoys it without ruining the experience for anyone else. The level of dumbfuckery in communities like these is what drives people to cheat, anyway. I did the same thing on a previous account, and made the game that much more fun for people by flying around giving people lifts in a Huey. It isn't people like Thadeum that ruin this game, but you all hear "hacker" or "cheater" and suddenly it's a shitfit ragestorm of hate and you bunch them all together into the thunderdomers and teleporters.

    Finding a Home.

I've been on both sides of various anti-cheat engines before, but DayZ's appeal to hackers is grand and somewhat atypical due to the relative ease of finding or making a BattlEye bypass / clientiside radar. Thus, I don't consider any permanent location safe and will never stay in one spot for long.

    Looking for Solid Server

Highly recommend US 898. There are not overly many players, but there are plenty of good admins from what I've seen.

It Sounds Like It's Not Even About Zombies

Zombies can be a very large part of your game, depending on how you play. They are only found near settlements, which players avoid if they are not looting, so encounters can be completely avoided if you live in the wilderness. It is possible to survive out there completely self-sufficient as long as you don't get shot. As far as bandits go, I try to be positive when I am killed, knowing that someone will benefit from the loot they steal from me or at least that they enjoyed blowing my brains out.
