    Waiting for character to create.

My brother was getting the exact same thing as you. Every time he tried to join he would bounce back to that screen. He had a new install too. I would see him join but finally saw why he was getting booted off to that scree, his anti cheat was out of date. When you launch Operation Arrowhead you can select the option to re-install Battleye Anti-Cheat. Doing this cleared up the issue.

I try not to be a noob...

....so when I was told of this game on another forum I was strongly cautioned not to be a noob and was presented with a guide of do's and don'ts. In particular, don't be the noob the runs down the middle of the road with a lit flare. So finally after reading about the game for the 2 days it was'nt working right I did lots of reading. Finally! The day arrives that I can jump in. It's night time and I have the whole survival guide in the back of my mind when I spawn. Stay low, be quiet, don't use light unless you must, don't open fire on every zombie you see. So I work my way inland a ways and come across some homes that I want to look around. As I'm quietly circling the perimeter "clomp, clomp, clomp!!" Turn around to see some dood springting down the middle of the road with a lit flare! "Ha ha, NOOB!" I'm thinking to myself, proud of the fact that I have not made that kind of mistake. My laughter turned to horror as the guy stops, looks at me and comes running over to me and crouches down beside me along with his "look at me! shoot me!" flare. I didn't even have time to type "dood, you're gonna get us killed" when BOOM!! Buddy drops dead. Great....I take off sprinting across the road to vanish into....whatever...I had no idea. BOOM!! I go down. Laying there broken and waiting for the guy to come finish me off. Tick tick tick, nothing, no one comes. So I figure I'd try my health kit. Hey, that makes me stand up! BOOM!! Dead...... So I get noob killed due to someone else being a noob. HARSH!!

    Arma AO

You need the vanilla version of ArmaII as well, not just OA. You will also need to download the mod files from the mediafire link here: http://www.mediafire.com/dayz I only bought ArmaII to play this game so I've always launched it through Steam. Assuming you are doing the same what I did was install both games, followed the instructions above for the mod files. Once that is done, launch OA. Once the game menu pops up, click on the Mods tab. In the mods tab, check off and enable all the mods in there. Once you click "ok" the game will re-start. Once that's done, click on multiplayer and search for the "Day Z" servers.

    Constant mod errors

Lol...ok then. I did actually spend that much time trying last night, polly will again. If this was a game I bought retail and was having this problem, I would say you are well within your rights to complain however it's not. The whole point of Alpha is working out bugs, guess what they are doing? Settle down son, it's just a game. You'll get in there soon enough. Oh..and the tone of your posts isn't likely going to generate much sympathy for you. You "demand" this gets fixed? Really?

Holy crap, one of the whiniest posts I've seen yet. It's in A-L-P-H-A. Give them some time to work on it man, jeez.
