The 7000 series of AMD just got price reduction. A 7850 is around 200 now which is a great choice.

I got my last sniper rifle at a heli crash. After going to numerous deer stands and raiding stary sober and the NW airfield multiple times. I got really lucky though because I found a heli crash and while I was sneaking up to it I must have aggro'd and while I was killing the zeds arma crashed on me. I couldn't remember the server I was on so I got into a random one and there was another heli crash about 500 meters away. The sniper I had before this I found at the very first deer stand that I visited then a few days later I spawned in passed out with broken bones and bleeding.
-
I've seen 2 on a server at the same time as well. Both were over elektro and one of them had a pretty terrible pilot because he crashed into the hillside probably 30 feet from us.
-
This has happened to me quite a few times. And every single time it happens I disconnect immediately and join another server and I'll be back to where I was before with all of my gear. It's spawned me at the coast a few times as well with all of my gear too.

All servers have yellow question mark
Shikhee replied to crybllrd's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
For some reason most of my server list is missing. Right now for me there are 5 US servers and all of them are locked, is this happening to anyone else? Never mind, it fixed itself after relaunching the game. Sorry I couldn't help with your problem. -
The best sniper rifle in the game?
Shikhee replied to Inception.'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'd say the DMR during night and the AS50 during the day. I can fairly easily get 1 shot kills with the DMR at ranges nearing 800 meters. Yesterday I had 3 kills at 700+ meters in just a short while. The AS50 gets it during the day because of range and damage. -
Just a few high populated servers on my list.

It may not be the full list, refresh a couple of times and you might be able to find more. When I was trying to play with a friend last night neither of our server lists matched up. -
New Players Important Information on Cheating
Shikhee replied to Sula's topic in New Player Discussion
Is it ok to server hop to try and get a server without graphical glitches? I'm at the NW airfield and can't even get close without being blinded by them. So i have to hop about 10 times before I find a server that's actually playable in that area. -
Bulldozer is pretty bad. Either a Phenom II X4 965 or an i3 2120 perform better in games. Besides Hexa cores aren't very good for games since most games won't use the cores.

PLEASE. bring the starting gun back for use new players.
Shikhee replied to blaxar's topic in New Player Discussion
I play solo and can usually get a rifle within 20 minutes and raid a supermarket shortly after. Look in fire stations and deer stands if you need a weapon. I've found so many AKM's and such it's not even funny. -
HA. No. The hawk version just has a better cooler than other 560's. Besides the Twin Frozr on the 7850 is better anyways.
-
They are not the same performance. The 7850 is also more power efficient and overclocks better.
-
Then go with a 6870
-
Why should he get that 560ti when the 7850 is priced the same and performs better, has less power draw, and overclocks better?
-
AMD 7850 if you can afford it. Might have to drop down to a 6870. MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, and XFX are good brands.
-
Personal experience with Coolermaster PSU's. Had 2 of them die on me, 1 died in 3 weeks the other died in 5. Picked up a nice Seasonic and haven't had any problems since.
-
Most of cooler masters line isn't very good at all. They have 1 decent series of PSU's and that's it. And cheiftek is adequate.
-
The only good PSU manufacturers are Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, and XFX. There are a few decent PSU's from other brands but overall their not as good.
-
AMD is more the budget market even though the i3-2120 performs the same in games.
-
Sound cards aren't needed as motherboards have integrated sound on them. The GPU you selected is the major drawback. I recommend something like this. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/dPIp
-
The last heli I was at had no loot whatsoever. I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything. Before that I raided the tents at stary and found nothing worth taking except for a few AKM mags. I have terrible luck.

Looking at building my computer for gaming on Day Z.
Shikhee replied to Skaterkidd92's topic in New Player Discussion
If your on a budget you probably don't need an SSD. I would drop that and put the money in a better GPU. Also not only are power supplies that come with cases usually bad but rosewill isn't exactly known for reliability. For PSU's I'd recommend Antec, corsair, seasonic, or XFX. Oh and you could slightly cheaper RAM. The speed of it barely makes a difference. After a bit of looking I'd recommend this GPU over your current one. http://www.newegg.co...ID=3938566&SID= Of course if you were to drop the SSD you could upgrade either the GPU or CPU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115077 Is slightly more expensive than your current CPU but if you drop the unnecessary SSD you can easily afford it. -
If you were going to spend this much, what would you change?
Shikhee replied to William_Munny's topic in New Player Discussion
An i7 is probably overkill unless you need hyperthreading. Drop the soundcard, Most mobo's onboard sound is more than sufficient. Get a 670 instead of a 680 because they perform very similarly and the 670 can easily be overclocked to past 680 performance. With the saved money get a nice SSD. Samsung 830, Intel 520, and Crucial M4's are reliable and fast. -
You can lose zombies fairly easily. I managed to run straight through elektro and get a huge train on me then lose then by turning a few corners. If you being chased by them just run backwards and shoot them. Some of the easiest places to gear up is deer stands. They don't spawn too many zombies and they can be avoided completely by just letting them walk away.

Killed on Loading Screen, but still have gear?
Shikhee replied to torph (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I've had weird things like this happen as well. Last night I logged into a server with a friend and as soon as we connected we were passed out with broken bones and bleeding. I bled out from 10k blood because I was passed out so long. Earlier today I logged onto a server and was in the debug plain with nothing, I logged on to another server and I was teleported from where I was before to the coast with all of my stuff. A while before that I logged onto a server and immediately was greeted with the "you are dead" screen, I played a bit and found a few things then logged off. The next time I logged on I was at where I was before I "Died" with all of my previous stuff.
