The gear you pick up determines your "level" and with that comes increased risk/paranoia. Unless someone belongs to a clan with stockpiles of high end weaponry.

Framerate also effects it. Low FPS will drastically reduce movement speed.

I think the idea could work as long as we modify it to fit the infected type. Like someone mentioned earlier about PCP, the infection could possibly give the host some kind of superhuman characteristic. Certainly not immortality though. I think rocket said in an interview that he wasn't very fond of paranormal phenomena in some games.

Great suggestion OP, but make it so they eventually go down after like 3 to 4 high caliber or 5 to 6 low caliber shots to keep it semi realistic. After watching some interviews it seems realism is quite important to the project.

I simply can't fire the first shot. Have only done it once, a guy was carrying around an Enfield at the firestation and my buddy told me to shoot him for fear he was a bandit. Ended up getting a murder not a bandit kill. I still remember his name, RangerDan,

Yeah I think it's caused by low framerate. My friend has this problem with an old laptop and I can always tell when his framerate drops . Sometimes he gets so slow that I'm walking while he's running and we have to server hop to find one with better performance.

Yeah, the problem is not bandits. It's the kill on sight mentality that people adapt because of them. I think maybe we do need a reliable way tell who is a bandit.

In situations like that, disconnect and find a different server. Don't bother with feeding the trolls. Rocket said disconnecting to avoid death should be forbidden. Not disconnecting to avoid ego driven douche bags.
