Op, you missed the boat. Mod's been riding on the Hype it received 2 months ago. Unfortunately virtually nothings been done to address the fact that the player base has changed dramatically. For me this mod is like a relationship formed on lust. After a while you realise there is nothing underneath.

People saying all gaming communities/forums are this bad so deal with it, are simply wrong. I regularly post on forums where none of this daily crap goes on. It all comes down to the 'type' of 'gamer' this mod has attracted, and appalling forum moderation.

Hey op my specs are i5-2500 , 8 gb 1333, gtx 460 1gb overclocked. I run Arma 2 everything on very high 1920 x 1080, apart from post processing turned off cause i don't like it, with the view distance set to 6km and have no problems at all. Same in all current games pretty much. The 460 will do you fine in all games that are out right now as long as you aren't expecting to be able to run 3 screens at 5200 x 2600 and everything on ultra for all games.

Don't know how you are launching Arma Oa so no specific help can be given. But like people have said you need to launch Arma without dayz or the beta (in certain circumstances). Using six or arma launcher etc you can tell it what mods to load or not load each time you start arma. Just set up different launch profiles for each, 1 profile to launch with dayz + beta, 1 for ArmaOa + beta, 1 for just vanilla etc etc.

+1 for it being an option for server admins to enable or not. As there is no other easy ingame option for meeting up and forming a group, you're forced to leave the game and come to places to like this to find groups, can't get much more 'immersion' breaking than that.

So you're complaining about people reporting suspected cheaters in a section of the forum which accepts reports about cheating? If you actually look up some of the servers this guys reported there are actually some which are suspicious so i wouldn't say this is a dud topic, he most certainly could of done some better research first which is why i posted the link. I'm pretty sure the 'dayz team' doesn't have a 24 hour surveilance team constantly monitoring each individual server and what the owners are doing with it, want to know why i 'know' this, because 3 servers i have been monitoring because they have been locked 8 hours a day with the same 1-4 people on them for 5 weeks haven't been removed from the hive, simply based on my own observations i would say having users reporting is a good thing, no matter what other server owners wish to say on the subject. But negating all i've just said really, if you want to complain about these sorts of reports you've been barking up the wrong tree. Surely it would be better to complain to the mods of this forum to have a stricter set of guidelines and enforcement of posts in relation to what can and can't be posted when it comes to reporting 'admin abuse'. Then you wouldn't have to waste your time by reading these posts....

The link i provided right above your post shows the op that another of the servers in his list hasn't been constantly locked as he claimed, and that was the first and only one i bothered to check. I thought if i phrase it like i did it would be a nice way of pointing out that maybe he was wrong in his assumptions and he and others should make posts like this only after doing some proper checking. The general tone on this forum is appalling and your response while not offensive is laced with the usual disregard for others that most other people on here seem to be 'infected' with. If some of the people on this forum are truly representative of the playerbase then i wonder what hope there is for this mod.

This site would be useful for you OP and anyone else who is thinking of reporting or tracking locked servers, so you can actually check whether the server really only ever has the same 3 people on it or not. Thats why my references to his developer status were in 'quotes'. Its just annoying seeing him and others trolling sometimes in threads related to this kind of subject, then when its a thread about him he lies about it and then attempts to hide behind some magical 'developer' status which doesn't exist.

You can't have a clear set of rules for ALL server owners, which according to Dante-shawn et al is enforced with no exceptions....Oh well wait a minute no we'll make an exception here because its Dizzy.......err no I'm afraid not. How far does it go? How far has it gone with Dizzymagoo? Spawning in buildings and defences...err wait it was a 'developer' test. Having side chat enabled when alot of other server owners want side chat enabled but because of threats of blacklisting have disabled it.... oh but im Dizzymagoo and when i've got side chat enabled im not acting as a 'dayz developer' im acting as Dizzymagoo so just ignore me....err no i'm afraid not. Like i say its about trust pure and simple, should i be waiting for a thread asking why there are ammo crates in Dizzymagoos camp on Colorado 1 in a few weeks? or should i just trust him for the upstanding guy he's shown himself to be so far....
