Re-opening via Bearcats & SurvivalServers coming!

Never posted for a ban appeal before, in any game, due to not being the kind to cause issues. However, tonight 9/7/12 at around 9:30PM EDT I was banned by the admin of US 3040 DayZ Rangerz hosted by SurvivalServers.com for "Vehicle Creation". I think I know the issue but I have no way of contacting the admin ([DRZ] Maximus?) to attempt to get an appeal. Potential issue: Friend and I were fixing up a vehicle and I had just put a tire on it, as I went to get our scrap metal I lagged out. After several attempts of apparent "kicked from game" messages (was being broadcast via chat according to friend) I finally logged in and suddenly got a message saying: You were kicked off the game. (BattlEye: Admin Ban (Vehicle Creation)) I noticed in my gear right before that I had a tire again. I am guessing it lagged and thought I "created" a tire because I had already used it but still had one. I didn't "create" a tire, but I can see how it thought I did. If I was really a person able to "create vehicles" and things of that sort I likely wouldn't have been so nice as to let you all fly away with a perfect Heli while we spent hours fixing 2 vehicles, would I? You all scared the hell out of us while you were refueling that Heli btw. :P With any luck someone knows how to contact the admin of the server, or the admin sees this. Would love to get back to what little gear we had on the vehicles. <S> X

Thanks again for the appeal, Maximus. :) Always a nice change of pace to find a server with great admins! Now to just find a vehicle to fix up again, leggin' it can be a bit tiresome.

Been such a hectic past few days with fixing and losing about 10 vehicles (never trust Anarchy to drive on a beach btw) now it'll just be nice to find a relable server with good admins. :) I'm fine with finding/fixing another vehicle but certainly a Big Thanks for your offer ya mentioned. :thumbsup:

If no one shows up before I run there (needed to stop in a city anyways) I can try to help, Reaper. About 2.5-3Km East of Zeleno though so if someone is closer it'd likely be best.

Ride would been fun but at the same time I likely woulda missed the loot I got. :) Hit up the Balota Airfield despite artifacting out the wazoo, not much worth while, but still some things. In particular, found a nice little ol' backpack. Being that I dislike big bags for the most part though (doesn't fit my style), if any medics are in need of a Coyote Bag (24 slot) I can donate one. Gave a medic (Askar) one of these bags before but we all died to a sniper 20 minutes later, annoyingly. I know Medics need plenty of room to store meds, partly why I'm willing to donate it.

Just finished a Med Supply run. If any Medics or other needs supplies feel free to contact me. 4x Blood, 4x Morphine, 4x Bandages, Epi-Pen. Sitting on the East side of Elektro, heading Balota then Berezino soon.

Current? M4A3 CCO Revolver Alice Pack Plenty of Med Supplies Starter Toolbelt items Civ/Hero Clothing What I prefer? Anything I can get my hands on basically anymore. Changed my game-style to a "Live off what I can find, kill all zombies in the way". If I run out of ammo for something and find a new gun before ammo, I pick that up. Even if it's something "rare" I drop it (dropped a few FALs, L85, AS50, M107). Died enough I don't care about loot anymore, just run around helping and killing zombies. I prefer: Primary: Shotgun, or civilian looking guns, ex. CZ-550, Crossbow. Secondary: Revolver or G17 (for the flashlight) Assault Bag (12 slot) Civ Clothing and then whatever else I pick up along the way.

I would like to start off saying, I did search but saw nothing about it, so sorry if it's a duplicate. Now, the suggestion to tweak, sound effects levels. If a person is to survive a place such as Chernarus what is one of the main ways to survive? Situational Awareness, know what's going on around you. How does one go about this? Primarily Sight and Hearing. As it stands right now though, one of those is difficult to make use of. We can see just fine, but due to the levels at which sound effects are set, it makes hearing your surroundings a bit of a trick. Most people have heard all the sounds in-game in real life. The ocean, flies, someone running, footsteps in general, doors opening/closing, gunshots, etc. Right now several of these sounds are far overpowering, and others a bit low or even non-existant. The ocean, for example, is extremely loud. I use to live near an ocean, a bay, and a river, and unless it's a really windy day you won't hear the water that well, especially several hundred feet in-land, or even indoors. Flies, unless Russia/Czech have the loudest flies known to mankind, it's a bit too loud. Now a whole swarm of flies can make a good bit of noise, but it would a lot of them, something a fresh body wouldn't create. I think (far from sure), that a dead body takes a few days to attract that kind of insect attention. Now that is a little much for this game, but a ~10 minute or more delay would likely be a little better. Unless I'm gitched, but I hear them instantly when someone dies. Footsteps, a bit too low in comparison to other sounds. I can hear someone walking up the driveway from a decent distance away, or someone walking up/down the stairs with music on. If that person was running up my driveway I'd hear them from about halfway (~1/4mile driveway total). Obviously other sounds will drown out footsteps easily depending on how fast the person is moving, but not sure how that would work in-game. Doors, seems to have no sound. Now, if anyone has been to a big old building with large metal doors they know that those are anything but quiet. Small wooden doors would be plausible to open quietly, but things like Warehouse/Firehouse doors would make some noise, espesically if they have been sitting there a while rusting. Gunshots, while they travel decently, are a bit low. Take the Revolver for example, can fire it and attract very little attention. Has anyone here fired a .45 Revolver? (honest question) I've only personally fired a .357 without ear protection (bad move btw), and that left me nearly deaf for the next ~2 minutes. With ear protection I've fired 30-06, Glock 40 and 12ga. All of them with ear protection (just simple plugs) were still loud enough to get plenty of attention and would have left me with limited hearing if not for the ear plugs. Someone with plenty of gun experience may be able to adapt better, but our survivor doesn't seem like a gun master. Maybe make them slightly louder, or leave a ringing in the ears after a certain caliber? 9mm wouldn't leave much of a ring if any, but firing a Lee Enfield or M107 without some kind of protection? Ouch. Hit tab/enter too son, woops. Anyways, not sure how much can be edited sound wise, but just some thoughts about the effects levels.

Well it seems I'm a psychic. Died just as I predicted, Anarchy. :( Not 2 hours after the trade, I logged in, went up the lighthouse ladder and BAM! Glitched out and died instantly upon falling 10ft (think taking a screenshot may have been the cause of falling). Spawned in Kamenka and couldn't get back in time to loot. On a plus side, I don't have to find a replacement Civy Clothing...altough I did find a spare set in Elektro not 10mins after getting back to my body.... So if someone needs a new Civ Clothing set I got a spare one! :lol:

Glad I could help, and always willing to help anytime. :) Was some obvious caution at first but Anarchy is certainly trustworthy! Also, Mad Z, The gun setup isn't that uncommon even for a hero. I was carrying an AS50 with my Hero Skin because I am a Sniper by nature (not a front lines guy). I never did harm to another user with it, also had an L85 for a while but alas...that was short lived. I carry lower-end guns anymore because it fits my character style, but those guns are great even for a Hero. Even Heros have to shoot people from time to time sadly.

Wasn't really a trade so much as I was willing to offer up some items for free, but: Anarchyihdi +1 Gave him my Civ Clothing (have spare Ghillies with me to wear) since he wanted his Hero Skin and lost his Civ Clothing. Met up on TeamSpeak and in-game and we got the items sorted with 0 issues. Nice simple trade with a nice fellow hero. :)

Only thing I got to vouch for myself is from a Medic: If I can't get the spare civy clothing (my walking spare set went "busy"!) I can still offer up a some ghillies so ya can trade with someone else later. Or even offer up my civy but I'd personally prefer not to as I like my "hero" skin. :)

May be able to get a spare Civy Clothing off a friend who kinda stopped playing if ya haven't/don't find a better solution. Would take about an hour to get him updated/online/meet/swap.

If you have someone willing to give ya civy clothing for a Ghillie I can provide ya with some spare Ghillies for usage in clothes swapping. Could give that person a spare ghillie, have em change, give you the civy clothing and voila! Been trying to offload these Ghillies for a while but I don't like throwing things away, although I did throw away my AS50 for an M1014, then an M16....fits my "hero" better. :)

I'm just South-West of Berezino if any Medics nearby need to re-stock. Sitting with 4 Blood Bags, 3 Morphine, Epi-Pen and some Bandages I don't need. Can raid a Hospital to get more as needed. Can get anywhere on the map quickly enough if ya needs the supps somewhere else. :) Do note, I'm kind of a Combat Medic Assistant (Is that a thing?), not a Medic, so my gun stays in my hands, but it doesn't get used.

Well, was short lived, but alas. Thanks to Askar and group for helping re-gear after we lost our lives to snipers the first go around. Lost internet right as we landed/saved so gonna be an interesting log back in! If a medic ever needs help or overwatch, I'm always happy to help if I can. :)

Can't help much in meds, only got 2 bloods and 2 morphines and far too many bandages, but if our Medics are having a rough time gearing back up I'm willing to help. :) Not an amazing playter, die a lot, only 5600 humanity (lifetime "murders" is annoyingly high for me, 4-6), but geared up and willing to help in whatever way since I've become a bit bored as of late. Got a spare weapon, ammo, some meds (as listed), food, and a backpack I could be willing to offer up as needed.

Personally use a Logitech G700 with 4 Thumb buttons as follows: Front Top: Free Look Toggle Front Bottom: Push to Talk on Vent/Mumble/TS Back Top: 3rd Person toggle Back Bottom: Binocs/Range-Finder Have Weapon Switch, Auto-Run, Flashlight and some harder to reach keys tied to the G-keys on keyboard as well. Useful to tie those G-L type keys to something closer. :) All about personal prefrence though. A squaddie uses his mouse buttons for croutch/stand/run type things.

Seem to see that issue with every ImageShack Photo Insertion attempt. I'd assume the forums don't support imageshack for whatever reason as Photobucket works just fine. Tried every possible thing I could think of but it just seems to be imageshack and the forums not playing nice.
