    AMD Vs Intel/NVIDIA CPU/GPU's

CPU; Both are perfectly fine. AMD will be cheaper, Intel will perform faster in most cases. Don't let anyone tell you either one sucks, it's pure and utter lies. GPU; AMD > Intel for 1 simple reason. Intel does not make Gaming video cards. Intel is purely integrated graphics for basic functional use of a computer, not really a competition when someone isn't competing!

    How to clean PC screen?

As mentioned, soap/water or a specific monitor cleaner ($5 from Wal-Mart) will work fine with a soft non-abrasive cloth. Just never use any kind of Window Cleaner (Lysol wipes, Windex, etc) or harsh chemicals on a monitor, the chemicals in those will ruin the monitor image over time (unless you use a CRT).

    Help me build a pc

The same reason some people are overly obsessive about audio quality, some people are just (category)-philes....if it's not "perfect" they want nothing to do with it. An audiophile would never recommended a Logitech G35 for instance, but I love em. There is a certain degree that should be used for judging though, but as ya mention a model that got good ratings (and a good brand) on something like Newegg is just fine for most. :) Now if you are into professional graphic design/work....

What does your setup look like?

    I cleaned the Biohazard waste away for people's sake (just got over a cold....);
  5. In that case you'll need to go into Catalyst Control (right click desktop and it should be the top option) and change under-scan. Once in CC go to "My Digital Flat-Panels" > "HDTV support" > "Scaling" (under HDTV) > and turn the scaling down til the screen is fully used. It's likely gonna be 0% to use the full screen at 1080p.
  6. Typically monitors max res is its native res and should be run as such. By chance, do you use HDMI? If so AMD has a setting for running in HDMI in Vision Center you'll need to play around with. DVI doesn't have the issue though. If it's truely the monitor (would need to know the monitor model to know) then sadly not much can be done, but that seems unlikely.

    Thinking of upgrading(ish)

if you have an FX-8320 already, don't waste $200 on an 8350. You're already running one, just downclocked. You may not get the same OC potential, or it may take higher voltage, but it's the same damn chip. Save money for either an Intel i5 or i7 or get a good cooler and Overclock that FX. I run mine at 4.5-4.8GHz (depends on the week) and it is perfectly stable and cool with a Corsair H80i cooler. It scores just like an equal clocked 8350 in tests. As for the "higher-end" 9xxx series AMD, it's just a factory-assured overclock really. If you have the cooling it's possible to get an 8350 to 5GHz (will vary per chip) so it's not worth the 3-600$ for 2FPS more. Edit; I just compared my 8320 @ 4.8GHz to a friends i7 950 @ 3.8GHz and in 3DMark benchmarks at least they are damn near identical. He got 29.6FPS (Physics) vs my 29.9FPS; 9315points vs 9425points. We can't fairly compared in DayZ due to GPU differences (7970 in mine, 2x 580s in his) but I know we both get around 60FPS outside cities and 45 in cities with V-sync on. In single-threaded games (WoT) we perform almost identical as well.

    Can I run DayZ?

You'll be directed to the thread for this (In Newcomers forum I think?) in a short bit, but it should run a mix of high with 30-60fps with Vsync on. I have an 8320 @ 8350 speeds + 7970 (1 step-up from 7950) and on High/Very High get 60 outside of cities with drops to 30 in Cherno, though that is server dependent.
  9. Well you linked to a system, it's gotten to the point my initial reaction is people wondering how well will it run, kind of an auto-pilot response. :P As to "the risk", there really is none. To "mess up" a build is damn near impossible unless you're, for lack of a better term, mentally retarded. I have done so many things when putting mine together that some would consider "bad" and yet to break anything that it's just such a low risk. Unless you're extremely worried about it, it's always worth building it.
  10. ~£800 and it only has a 7750? What a rip-off... As to the OP, your linked system is good, the only thing I'd worry about is brands. I don't know that site's rep to know if they use good or bad brands but if someone knows what they use that'd be nice. The PSU brand in particular is the biggest concern. 4th Gen i5 will be perfect for DayZ, GTX 760 should run high easily enough (very high would be pushing your luck), 8GB is plenty, Windows 8 is...eeeh. If you feel comfortable building your own you should be able to save some money and ensure good brands (and upgrade some bits, £900 is enough for a very nice system), but obviously not everyone is comfortable with that.

    The worlds most powerful GPU

2x top-end chips do tend to be powerful. :P However, where the friggin' hell are you seeing it for $2K?! The thing isn't even half that on Newegg. The Sapphire is only $700, and Sapphire is great quality.

    New PC Time!

Also, Shade, the RAM you linked to is 204-pin Laptop RAM. Though in the finalized list you do have 240-pin selected. Just a bit of a mix up with links is all. :) As to Max, the only possible change I could see is the Hard-Drive to a Western Digital Black, but that is purely a personal preference. The list looks very nice eitherway! Though, if you need one, a DVD drive is missing. Can just pick the highest rated one on Newegg and be set (think it's an ASUS one atm).

    New PC Time!

You could easily save close on to $100 on the case alone if you're going off the list above (using the Thermaltake). Unless you plan to full-circuit Liquid Cool, or add 3-4 way SLI/Xfire, or 5+ HDDs then you don't need Full ATX for one. Eamples; NZXT M59 for $39 or Phantom for $100 or HAF 922 for $100 or Carbide 400R for $80 and so on and so on. I use the M59 and there is more than enough room for a normal set-up (I use an oversized 7970 and H80i and still have room). The PSU could be dropped a bit to something like the Seasonic X650 for $140 or Seasonic SSR-650 for $100. Though dropping to 650w will limit you should you want to add a new/second GPU later on. The PSU are a bit expensive compared to most 650w ones due to Seasonic being the best PSU maker atm.

    New PC Time!

"Better" is relative. For Large Video Editing, sure, but anything over 2x 4GB or 2x 8GB (for the people who 'think' they need it) is overkill. :) As for the OP, define "crazy expensive" for 3gb cards. Personally I use a Sapphire 7970 3gb. Sitting right around ~$300 for it, and I'd hardly call that expensive, at least compared to what it was and what top-end cards are going for now (GTX 780 for example is ~$700+). I personally use AMD but if your budget allows $1K then I'd say a 4th gen Intel i5 unless you really want something else that Intel would cause an over-budget cost. As for the list above, I'd personally say switch the PSU to an AX750 if sticking with Corsair. Personally just say that since it's only a 10w difference but it's made by SeaSonic vs the 760i byFlextronics.

    Freaking RAZER sadface :(

Had the same thing happen to my G700 (Logitech) after about 1 1/2 years of use. Thumb button was PTT and eventually wore out a little, it still worked but I couldn't "feel" the push of the button which bugged me. Asked for an RMA and they sent me a new one, so now I have 2x G700s for the price of 1/2 of one. :)
  16. After almost a year of hosting a Server, the Bearcats DayZ Server is shutting down. Due to financial issues and lack of population we have decided it's time to shut it down until stand-alone. We will continue to be around in DayZ however it will not be on our own Server. The Server will be going down on the 12th of July 2013. We may host other smaller games locally in the meantime should we get a good response. To everyone who made it possible we Thank You. The hundreds we have seen make a home here, no matter how temporary, made it well worth it. Regards, Xcel Contact Links! If you have any questions, comments, or other, please contact an admin! Help With First Boot-Up

This is why they label USB 3.0, it's bitchy on a new install like that. :P That has absolutely nothing to do with whether it's intel or not...

    CPUs and DayZ.

The 8320 being only 1 "step down" from the 8350 is easier to find a good sale on and performs identical to an 8350. It "might" not be able to overlock as well as the 8350, but I've been able to push mine to 4.8GHz without issue which is more than enough in normal usage. I got mine from Amazon for $150. Being that you asked for specs I guess I can fill in a few things; I haven't done a DayZ Benchmark in a long time so I don't have results. May sign on to some populated server at some point to test it...assuming I don't get insta-killed.

    Motherboard help?

High-end Motherboards are for extreme Overclockers and the likes, there is a very noticable difference for the users who make use of them. For most people though, no, they aren't worth it. If there are plans to push the CPU to its limits then it'd be well worth the price of the extra cooling on the Mobo (VRMs can get nice and toasty). That and high-end ones typically have better support for SLI/CrossX...it's all about making use of the thing, which again, many won't. To the OP though, as said above, all things have bad reviews, people are stupid and will find a way to word it so it wasn't their fault. That and a good many will be people complaining about a DOA board (how many didn't review it that got a working one? 100? 1,000? 100,000?). The Sabertooth boards are very reliable if you're willing to spend that kind of money, if not the Gigabyte UD# (UD3, UD5) are quality boards as well. UD3 will be cheaper and have slightly less "features" but is still rugged. UD3 on socket 1155 is ~$140 USD. If you don't plan to do anything serious with the set-up then most anything from ASUS, Gigabyte, or ASRock would work fine though. I personally use the AMD Sabertooth and it's a very high quality board, If the Intel version was equally cheap it'd be hard to recc anything else.

Need someone to look over my build...

It's not really a good idea to use only an SSD in place of a HDD. In conjunction with, yes, in place of, no. Though on the topic of HDD, would suggest swapping to a Black edition WD drive, they're typically a little bit faster. Only other thing worth noting, if you're willing to spend the extra bit on a mobo (seemingly price is a small concern), something along the lines of an ASUS Sabertooth/ROG, or Gigabyte GA-xxxx-xx5 would be top of the line.

    What would you upgrade next?

Apologies if this posts twice, hit Enter and the page went all whacky... Looks good for the most part. Though I would highly suggest a different PSU, that Thermaltake one is horrid according to reviews. SeaSonic, Corsair, something along those lines would be best. Also, I'm assuming you own this already? Or is it a "going to order"? If you haven't actually bought it, I'd say switch to a single powerful GPU to avoid headaches, but if you already have them....

    Overclocking my processor

Technically the "limits" that Intel and AMD state aren't limits per-say in regards to Voltage. The "limit" of a Phenom or FX CPU according to AMD is 1.4v; The "safe" voltage & that which they cover in warranty (if it hits that voltage of its own accord). The "max" for any average person is 1.55v under Liquid or high-end-Air Cooling systems. Each CPU will have its own limit though as no two are alike. Certainly advised though if you can get a good speed on stated limits then call it a day. Temps though, most certainly listen to AMD/Intel about the limits. Hell, always watch temps no matter what to be safe, but most certianly when overclocking. Running near the Thermal Limit is risky, even more so if it goes over it for extended periods. Not sure on Intel, but with AMD it's not advised to go past 55c Overall & 60c cores; I think Intel is ~70c?

    Building a new rig...need advice

Sabertooth motherboards are just that great. :D Personally own the Sabertooth 990FX r2.0. Well worth the money to splurge on Sabertooth, both AMD and Intel versions. The cooling ability, power delivery, overclocking abilities, plus a good warranty (and nice color scheme!) are just too good to pass up.
