It's not "officially" supported, but I hear you might be able to do it with windows emulators like "wine" Take a look here: http://www.tunngle.net/community/topic/83941-how-to-host-a-linux-dayz-server/ However you won't be able to get your server white listed as I'm pretty sure they only allow windows servers, so you'll have to host a private hive.
  2. honestly, I get the feeling that website is being run by children. I've seen some pretty immature posts from a certain admin. Another problem is. Mr. 12year old with ADD can have his mom buy him a server then he joins the forums and silently trolls, or mr. script kiddie think's he's tough shit for posting a program yet is ignorant to half the official DayZ rules. I've had one of my threads derailed from an admin getting into an argument with someone, basically it's just a smaller cluster fucked version of this forum.   3. Hello everyone. This server was provided by Host Altitude so make sure you check them out. My server is running off of a Dedicated Virtual Server, so I've tweaked it a bit to run (hopefully) smoother than normal. This is my test server for DayZ Server Suite. see HERE I'll be running some experimental features that you may run into, they will of course be within the bounds of DayZ server hosting rules but should help combat hackers and players with items that aren't allowed. Things to expect from my server: I've added some chat commands: !hack [player: reason] An example would be !hack [pepkilz: he was spawning gear] !me [message] An example would be !me [slaps you with a large trout] !info - Displays actual server time. Some future plans for the server: See my DayZ Server Suite Thread from link above. For now our website is at http://pwnsro.org but I am in the process of setting another one up.

  5. Very quick and easy to use RPT scanner I just made. Just set path to your cfgdayz folder or any folder that contains the RPT file and save/scan. It displays only hive data on character logins, which is playername/location/inventory http://www.mediafire...ggeg2g82bzwb52n (note:) Due to a limit on the ListView control most inventory read-outs will seem cut-off and incomplete. This will be fixed in an upcoming release.
  6. What Vortech said, this is probably the most simplest way so far for admins to view what players are logging in with in their inventory.. just to see if they might have any 'suspicious' items. This app will ultimately be for something far bigger, but I thought I would release this out to people to use.
  7. In theory it would be quite easy to run BEC alongside a managed server, as the schedule file is a simple xml. I bet you guys will get a great boost in value/customers if you get that working XD Good luck

  9. As this is just a "rcon tool" I doubt it will have any of that functionality, but I may be wrong... I'm curious why you don't want to use BEC. It's an extremely powerful tool for dedicated servers and would solve your restart announcement problem very simply.
  10. Normally private hives are instanced to just one server, meaning you run the hive.
  11. Just a quick update, I'm back from wedding stuff and continuing work. I see the RPT scanning is no longer functioning because of the lack of hive info saved now.   14. Well I thought I would post an update. On 1.7.2.4 where I would get stuck at the black loading screen on 1.7.2.5 I now get spawned in debug field. How would I go about running my way to the normal map?

Alpha 1.0.2 -Remember to configure all your settings correctly, and if you use BEC, my EXE needs to be in the same folder as BEC.exe (you can copy the exe and dll's out of the install directory and it will still work just fine if you have your own BEC already set up) -I've temporarily packaged BEC along with this install with default settings so you'll have to configure them manually until I finish my settings system. -You can now "READ" the schedule system for BEC -tweaked chat commands, should be a bit more stable and such. http://www.mediafire...m38kog73sqka8pv

It's not an internet issue, explain to me then why I can use my friends steam account and play just fine because it's tied to different hive data, but when I use my steam account to play I get stuck at loading.. It's already been confirmed to be corrupt hive data.. we're now just trying to get a dev's attention so they can reset us. Perhaps I shall make a new thread for those that specifically have just the corrupt hive data stuck at loading issue.

  22. Sorry to keep you FTP dudes waiting... but for the dedicated peoples you'll like this: Today I got working scheduled restarts of the server and BEC and crash detection for both. I've also added a few more chat commands for players to use and I'm implementing a vote kick feature which after X amount of votes (at least 10 for trolls sake) within a minute will kick a player. <- you can choose to disable this command.
