  1. you are not banned. I don't understand the issue with player legion.
  2. I do the same thing during shutdown. I lock the servers 5 minutes before end, since it's not worth playing only for 5 minutes. Public hive admins won't blacklist for that. And I agree that the server startup is a bit cheesy.

    I wonder if dev-heaven.net is still used to post bugs and feedbacks. https://dev-heaven.net/projects/dayz/issues It is the only way for to post bugs since I can't create a ticket on github (I tried, even logged at github. Someone can explain?) A bunch of tickets are still opened on dev-heaven, without any response from devteam.

    Reasons I see: 1/ it's ugly and boring. Arma2 draws no so beautiful graphics per se. Add the color fading when your blood is missing. Add the contrast and light fading on darkness... where is the fun? 2/ more vulnerable to killers (geared up with NVG for example, or NV scope) 3/ no stake, and even drawbacks. Zombies do not change their behavior during night (someone can confirm that?). Loots are the same. Only character temperature is computed from the time of day, and you need more heatpacks. Suggestions to balance that: 1/ As stated before, add the full moon. I added some mist on Chernarus during sunset and dawn too. Make the atmosphere unique. 2/ maybe add some aggressive zombies around players with NV gear. 3/ maybe change the loot chances according to time of day. Make heli-crashes visible from several kilometers. Or more heli-crashes during night. 4/ add some street lights around enterable buildings / lit all such buildings (easier to spot from far). 5/ faster humanity increase / decrease during night (good behavior more rewarded)

    Admins want theirs servers well ranked. Players flee when the darkness comes. Put 24h daylight and the problem is solved. I found a balanced solution : set the date at a summer day with full moon. daylight from 3:30 am to 7:30pm, full moon from 7:30pm to 2:30am (and full darkness during 1 hour, arma2 bug I presume).

  9. 80 meter radius. if no safe place is found, vehicle is moved anywhere on map. An helicopter or a truck stuck by the trees is very annoying too :)
  10. yes, it's a feature. Every restart, 1/4 chance that a vehicle is moved in a safe place, if it's colliding with any object (house, smalest bush, tree...) Collision detection is based on sizeof command, which is not so accurate.
  11. multithreading is poor in arma2. I suggest you use the machine with a fastest core : the engine will use 100% of 1 core and few percent of another one. 2GB is enough for the gameserver, you have plenty of RAM here, you could use it as harddrive cache. The question is: is a 3.4 GHz core from and old Xeon faster than a 1.86 GHz core from a more recent Xeon? I would say yes, so I vote for machine #2.
  12. since hive is local, this is a private server, not a public one as you mentioned. your problem has nothing to do with public hive or whilelisting. So you have to describe what files you use (vanilla server pbo or Reality? mission file? database scheme? BE filters?) And also, check if you can see other errors in server.log and HiveExt.log.

  15. you are not in the banlist. unban occurs few minutes later /while/ the server is running.

    A player reported some problem to log in a server. I tried to join, and in parallel watched the server logs. First try: hung at the beginning of the last progress bar. In the logs : according to BE pv logs, "dayzLogin" is not even sent by the client! So the problem occurs quite early in the process (before server_playerLogin from DayZ mod is called). And in BE filter, I see that I am kicked because of the "seagull" in createVehicle. So the bug is in client side, which does not detect that it has been kicked and/or the player spawned as a seagull. If you could detect that, and display a message with a button to reconnect, it will shorten the wait and make players less disappointed. PS 1: Second try was ok. PS 2: enabling the Seagull in createVehicle filter is not an option.

    I have the same problem as MrB stated. My servers need to restart every 2 hours. I am very surprised about what RAZOR49 wrote (servers can run 6 hours, most of the devteam persons run a server, there is not such report...) Login process from fred41 worked better than this 1.7.6.1 version, I thought his code were included in this version but it seems it's not the case (I have not read/debug this part yet). Now sometime I need to restart less than 1 hour after a restart because nobody can log in.
