Hey everyone, I have had a few players on my public hive server receive the "You Are Banned" message and I cannot find any solid reasons for it. I have searched the forums here, on BI and Google trying to find the reasons, but have not found anything definitive. Recently I put together a new, custom server to increase performance and again, I have another player that has received this error since the completely fresh install of the OS, ArmA 2 CO, the 1.8.0.3 DayZ files, server files, etc. The reasons I have found range from having corrupted DayZ files to changing your CD key causing this or using hacks. Can any of the devs speak on this matter or any of the seasoned server operators? I would love to figure this out and resolve it if possible or at least have an answer to give to any players that encounter this. Thanks all!

His ban is not a global ban or an admin ban. Arma 2 just gives you a rectangular window in the middle of your screen that reads, "You Are Banned". I've never had it happen, but I have seen a screen shot of it. Whiskeytango - can you get a screen shot of it and post it so others will see exactly what the ban message looks like?

Honestly, I'm not sure what causes some players to get that "You Are Banned" message. It happens very rarely and you are the first one it has happened to since the server was loaded completely fresh on the new server hardware. I have not been able to find any solid reason for it in the forums or using Google. If anyone else might have an idea of what causes this to happen to random players I would love to find out why!

It seems this problem with the public hive database server has come back again or the problem has taken on a new form. I have started receiving the "Hive Error: Unknown Internal Error" crashes again as well as a host of other issues. I have tried to contact R4Z0R about it, but his inbox is full again and I have also messaged Matt Lightfoot regarding this. My server is running on 1.8. The big problems are the tents are not saving the inventory you put in them and save. I have even experimented with moving items from one tent to another empty tent and after a server restart, the items are back in the previous tent and the other is empty again. Also, vehicles are not saving their positions. They continue to reset back to their spawn point regardless of whether you save the vehicle location or not. I have also been having a lot of desync chains lately (maybe the two are related) and the time on the server does not stay synced. (even with a empty/low pop server) It ends up drifting 2 or more hours behind the correct time by the time the server restarts every 4 hours. I applied the code fix to the server to correct the static time issue, but now it has this drift problem. Yes, fixed. I'll have to track down the syntax change in server_updateObject.sqf that ended up breaking something with my admin tools. A big thanks to R4Z0R49 for taking the time to help troubleshoot my server instance.

Same problem with 1.8.0.2. Really wish someone could look into this and fix it. No one wants to play on a server that does not save their tent items or vehicles.

I updated to 1.8.0.1 today and this problem STILL exists. Did all of the same tests. Put up a new tent, put loot in it, save it and moved a vehicle again, saved it. After a server restart, the tent is still there but the loot is gone. The vehicle resets right back to the spawn point it was removed from.

I just tried again to set up a new tent, put in a bunch of looted items into it, saved it and then also moved an ATV from Clen, but after a server restart, the tent is empty and the ATV reset back to Clen.

I think something must have been done on the public hive DB since some tents disappeared from the server, but the problem still persists. I still see the hive db server dropping connections in the logs. I tested setting up a new tent and moving items from an existing tent into the new tent. After a server restart, the new tent was empty and the items were back in the first tent. Vehicles still do not save positions either. After a restart they continue to return to their spawn points.

Kerbo - I figured out that you have the same file named twice in your directions. The one in step 3 should be server_cleanup.fsm.

I don't have these lines in my server_monitor.fsm. Instead, 328 is blank, 329 is "//sleep 0.01;" and 331 is "};"

Are any server operators having issues with time not being correct on their servers with 1.8? Mine is always running way off correct time (+7 hours) and no matter what I set in the hive.ini file, the time is always the same on the server.

Hey everyone, I updated my public hive server today to 1.8 and I am using Facoptere's latest filters, but I have a number of players getting kicked for this. In the filter file, this is the line causing the kicks: 5 world_surfacenoise That is on line 329. If anyone else is experiencing this, how did you correct it? Simply change the '5' to a '1'?

I have not been able to find a good explanation for why this happens. I found one thread that partially addresses it stating that it can be caused by a hacker making false ban messages come up. Thread Here I have also seen this explained as a result of having corrupt dayz files and also from changing your CD key. I didn't ban you and if it's not a global ban message, maybe it's just a fluke. Have you tried to join the server again?
