I'd be happy to run it through it's paces on Server 2012. I run a VMware environment and Server 2012 is now VM-aware and runs so much better than Server 2008 R2 in a VM. Download link? -
I also would love to know if it is possible to run DayZ on a linux server. To my knowledge, it was still only for Windows environment.

I'm interested in trying this out on my server, but the link on the OP just links to the thread, no download. Also, has this been tested with Windows Server 2012? I have already moved my DayZ server over to it. -

A good place to go is the DayZ Community Banlist. http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/source/browse/#git You can update all of your scripts.txt, etc from there which are much more thorough. -
I think I'll just wait it out this time. It's a major bug with all the vehicles that needs to be addressed by the devs.

That didn't take long. I can see in my logs that a player has crashed the helicopter and it is blowing up on spawn every reboot. Since I have no idea who crashed it and where, I cannot attempt another recovery. Guess we'll be waiting till 1.7.3 or whenever the vehicle spawn problem gets fixed!

In an incredible turn of events and much thanks to the collaborative effort from a group of regular players on my server, we managed to save the helicopter from an eternal loop of exploding into oblivion with each server restart. We located another bus on the server, moved it all the way across the map and brought it to the heli spawn / destruction site. I replayed the videos I've captured over and over of the previous attempts at saving the helicopter to pinpoint exactly where I thought it should go to give us the best shot at cushioning the helicopters drop. I decided on setting up the second bus in a "plus" layout with the original bus and aligning it so that it would be lined up at the same angle lengthwise to the helicopter's orientation. As you can see in the video, I got really lucky and the bus managed to break the fall of the helicopter enough to avoid explosion. In addition to this, after confirming we could repair / refuel the helicopter we moved the remaining bus and the helicopter and then performed another sever restart. Once back up again, we confirmed that the original bus was able to spawn again without any interference so we lost none of the vehicles in the end. Enjoy the video. It's a sight to see.

When you go to battleye.com the front page at the top indicates what version they are up to for the client dll and the server dll. On the download page, yes, you want to download from under the Arma 2 OA 1.62 section also at the top.

All I need now is you and another bus to set it up right! ** Or for vehicle spawns to be fixed so when they blow up they reset to a spawn point.

Well, I tried the trick with putting the bus under the helicopter to break it's fall, but as you can see here, it did not work and blew the bus up with it. Guess my server will be short of a bus and the helicopter now since they will both explode each time the server is restarted.

The A2 OA Beta build patch you listed there was never supported by BattlEye and will caused you to be kicked from any server. You need to update to the latest build; 97127 which is supported by BE. Additionally, be sure you update your battleye as well. Today alone they released 3 updates to the client DLL. Version 1.173 is the newest and you also need the server DLL 1.163.

Chopper Crashing on each restart

I get pretty much the same thing in my log files as well, except for I figured out what is happening to the helicopter on my server. This could possibly be a systemic problem with the helicopter spawns right now. Take a look at the bug report I posted and the corresponding video. Helicopter Spawn Bug Report -
We are having the same issue with the helicopter not spawning on our server. It has been 7 days and still nothing. When I start the server up with a clean log file, this is what is at the end of the startup. I have one to add from today. This user was teleporting to try and kill me with an AS50 while I was driving in the URAL. He would pop up in the road, take a few shots before I reached him and I tried to hit him once, he got out of the way. He teleported a little further down the road, took more shots, but this time I managed to run him over and find out who he was by the "Venctum has died" message. Then immediately banned him using BE Rcon. 10 96.19.54.144:2304 47 0187b22be9c3ce65688cf4e887f4d73e(OK) Venctum ban 10 teleporting Player #10 Venctum (0187b22be9c3ce65688cf4e887f4d73e) has been kicked by BattlEye: Admin Ban Unfortunately, he must have been bypassing Battleye as NONE of his activity was showing up in the logs.

Message about server being locked.

The correct approach and one that I personally used is to simply shut your server down. I kept mine down for about a month because of business and personal obligations. I did not (and still don't) have all day long to scour server logs looking for cheaters. Battleye has made some good improvements over that time and I have changed networks I run my servers on so I brought mine back online again. If you simply don't want anyone accessing your server for a period of time, shut it down. This is perfectly acceptable practice and you won't wind up in hot water over locking which is expressly forbidden in the server host guidelines. -
Dayz update 1.7.2.6 Cars and heli still respawns after restart

There seems to be some bugs with respawns right now. I have witnessed players respawning right next to their dead bodies after being killed (not on the coast) and destroyed vehicles respawning right where they were wrecked. Zombie spawns are also somewhat bugged right now as well. At spawn points you will see them flash as though to spawn, but then they just disappear and never fully materialize. -
Helicopter spawn points & frequency

Thank you for all the replies. I traveled around to I think all of the spawn points on the dayzdb map and did not find it. I guess now it's just a waiting game to see if if spawns again in a few more days. -
I just updated my server to the 96836 beta patch, but Batlteye does not recognize it yet and will kick you off the server if you install it. ** BE has updated and beta now works **
