Combat worries from a fellow survivor.
[email protected] replied to SquadMATE (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Dude, this is a MOD for ArmA 2 there are limitations to modding a game. The 'death animations' are like that because the movement speed of the zombies was increased and that breaks the animations - which is also the reason for the 'teleporting' issue with the zombies. Weapon damage is being discussed all the time, everyone thinks they know how it should be. But honestly, if you can't get a headshot you really don't deserve to get that kill anyway and how can you let someone kill you with a crowbar? That thing does so little damage. -
Am I the only one annoyed that this keeps coming up? The Zombie spawn mechanics will be changed in the Standalone, with the Mod there really isn't that much they can do about it. The Engine ArmA 2 uses isn't made to do stuff like that.

Suggestion: Details in Houses -> Atmosphere
[email protected] replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's great idea, though a huge task. I hope they do add some more detail to the map in the future but I kinda doubt it'll happen to the detail you're describing, it's just too much work that could be spent otherwise. -
Learning how to play in a 'real' enviroment without savety is half the fun DayZ can provide in my opinion, so I don't think this is a good idea.

probably bad ideas but i will give it a shot...........

Apache... have you not learned anything from your past experiences of posting suggestions? -
Fix the Blood Bag/Transfuse Glitch

That's a bug report and not a suggestion. <.< -
Level/map Progression "Story Mode"
[email protected] replied to PsychoGuz's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I was going to read your suggestion but that colour hurts my eyes so I'm not going to read it. Why would you even change the colour, especially to such a stupid one? -

Reworking Sniping for realism and gameplay
[email protected] replied to Nasakenai's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Weapon handling in games is mostly ridiculous. I really hope they do something about that in the standalone, though I'm not holding my breath. -
At least watch a few interviews or read a few articles about the standalone, everything you're adressing is already being worked on for the standalone. I can't belive how uninformed some people are when they post on these forums.

Chernarus Plus; climate, vegetation and ground variety
[email protected] replied to Septimus's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
A big 'No, no' on the different terrain idea. A lush forrest area like chernarus is right now next to a desert terrain? Just doesn't make sense. I guess mountains could be featuring snow terrain up top, though I doubt that any of the 'mountains' on chernarus would be high enough for that to be plausible. I much prefer Zappa's suggestion about adding seasons. It's much more authentic and you wouldn't be able to escape the climate by simply walking a few miles, you'd actually have to deal with it. That would also bring more value to different clothing. You might not be needing that big ass jacket now, but summer's coming to an end and you could be needing it in a few days. Also, a mirage is not a hallucination and is not dependent on your state of mind or how thirsty you are. -

Small but usefull suggestions
[email protected] replied to Epic-KilL's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The second idea is actually not that bad and rolling a car is not that hard either. As long as it's on the street you could very well do it on your own but not off road. -
Stay around this froum section a while and try tp be actually constructive, you'll be just as annoyed by people like you who come here claim to be 'sorry'(Which is of course utter bullshit because you're obviously not) and post suggestions that have been posted a million times over and in the act killing of threads that actually have some proper value to them and could very well be adding to the game experience.Besides, telling someone on the interwebs that he should get a life is so freaking ironic it's not even funny anymore. Just sad. Now go back to that hole you crawled out of and never show your face here again. Thank you.

Third person and first person - you decide
[email protected] replied to Bombolz (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's acutally not that hard to hit something while fireing from the hip, as long as it's not more than let's say 15 to 20 metres away. I'd suggest reducing the accuracy drastically while shooting from the hip. Besides, melee weapons without crosshair is a pain in the ass. Currently using the axe on servers without crosshairs is sooo much harder even though it shouldn't. I mean I should know where I'm swining my axe, I shouldn't have to guess. On the matter of Thrid Person being removed, there are so many freakin threads about this I won't bother posting my opinion about it here yet again for the millionth time. -

Short Campaign, Single Player Free Roam
[email protected] replied to Holliday (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Not going to happen. Rocket has stated that they will NOT do it. There will be clues as to what happend in the game, but only for those who look for them, they will not force a story down your throat. You can already play DayZ as a singleplayer game, there are so many empty servers around and with the private hive's you can just lock your server and simply play with a few friends. So I really don't see what the problem is. -
Increasing the depth of experience within DayZ
[email protected] replied to seizethedayz's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Some nice ideas, though I'd say most have been suggested before. -
I think it was mentioned that there will be more towns added to the north and more buildings will be enterable. I think I saw an interview with Rocket somewhere where he said they wish to make the hospital more enterable for example.
-
lol, I prefer playing on Night time servers because Zombies can't see as good as they do at day, so I have no clue what you're talking about.
-
It does. Though maybe not as much as it should.
-
I don't like the idea of experience or skill points at all. There are so many other good ideas out there to make you feel attached to your character without resorting to such artificial means.

Make zombies Randomly Kill in 1 Hit
[email protected] replied to Drew1231's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The amount of fail by people who only read the thread title is seriously making me sad that these people are considered the same species as me. The health system will be overhauled in the standalone anyway, no longer will the blood count be your health bar. Instead of 'bitching' about how bad the health system is right now, how 'bout making some constructive suggestions what could be done differently? -
water from the sea
[email protected] replied to ghillie gang johansen's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I really can't see why this would be useful. It's not worth the time put into it. There are so many wells and water pumps spread around the map, it just wouldn't make sense to go through all the trouble that comes with it do be a viable alternative.
