  1. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/97659-consolidated-weaponsequipment-suggestions/ That's where you should be posting that suggestion.
  2. Apache... really? Those ideas are all just taken from other threads on this forum... AGAIN. You don't learn, do you?
  3. Zombie animals is the worst idea ever, in my opinion. I never liked them in Resident Evil either.
  4. Has been suggested before and it's a really neat idea. I hope they implement it.
  5. That's where the faces come into play? How do you recognice people in real life? By their voice and their face I would assume, another factor might be size and body structure(fat/slim) but that's about it and you really shouldn't have more than that in game either. It should be hard to coordinate such a big group, because it surely isn't easy in real life either.
  6. I like the idea that you could drag dead bodies. Might be a nice way to sort of lay out 'decoys' for zombies, that is if zombies would react to dead bodies.
  7. I'm all for more features for survivor groups, or any at all as there currently really aren't any in place. But there have been a lot of other, better ideas on how to handle this(in my opinion). For example the 'clan' armbands, a more in-depth character customization will also help. If you want to be able to recognize eachother, dress similar. Of course for that to work there would have to be a very wide varity of clothing so no one looks alike unless they intend to. At the moment you can already choose 'faces' that have facepaint on them, that might be another way to help with the whole recognition problem. But to some extent it is even supposed to be hard to tell your friends apart from strangers, surely not in close quarters but definitly when further apart than let's say 20 to 30 metres(i grabbed that number from a hat so don't nail me on that). And for that 'lemme just change my clothes to look like you' surely it shouldn't be that easy to switch but it should be possible, it provides a whole new tactical approach for infiltrating an enemy group. Which I can imagine to be quite fun, at least for the one doing the infiltrating probably not so much for the 'victims'.
  8. Rocket already said they're reworking the inventory system. Not much sense in suggesting anything until we see what they have come up with. Besides there are already a lot of suggestions about it anyway. If you bother to check the sticky in this section you could see one that's a lot more detailed and fleshed out that yours, even with some nice pictures.
  9. I still think there should be less military grade weaponry and more civilian weapons. I guess in that region Ak's could count as civilian weapons but most of the other stuff you currently find in DayZ seems out of place.
  10. It would be cool to have a choice but you should have to live with the consequences that have been mentioned in this thread. But I guess that'd be too much work for something only a handful of people would be using.
  11. Seriously though, choosing a 'faction' at character creation is just dumb and destroyes the freedom DayZ provides. If anything we should go with what orlok suggested, mechanics for creating and managing factions after you spawned. When you spawn in DayZ you spawn into a new world whatever life you might have had before you left behind. You're a new person in a new world.

    addiction

Not really. I'm sorry to tell you(actually I'm not but whatever) but the game is only going to get more diffcult with time, you really should think about joining The War Z they like it easy over there I heard.
  13. starwarsfan@gmx.de

    addiction

As long as you don't get addicted after the first shot, maybe. But addiction is not a simple thing and some are more suscebtible to it than others.
  14. People are constantly demanding it should be like it is in the ACRE mod for ArmA 2 and I think Rocket said it would be similar but not quite as complex.
  15. I was wondering when you'd show up again. I can see you have not learned anything from your past experiences on this forum. We have a word for that in german we call it... Bildungsresistent.
  16. starwarsfan@gmx.de

    Return of Global Chat

Not. Going. To. Happen. Global chat is simply a huge immersion breaker. Besides, Radios have already been confirmed as a desired feature by rocket and they will most definitaly make an appearance in the standalone game sooner or later.

    Footsteps

Might sound like a good idea at first but if you put anymore thought into it, it really doesn't hold up. There are so few occasions on which you'd be leaving footprints, it really wouldn't be worth the time it would take them to implement it. Unless you're wading through mud or walking on a sand beach you're not going to leave any lasting footprints. Even if you get your shoes wet you only leave footprints for your next ten steps maximum. It'd be nowhere near as useful as you're making it out to be. Leaving footprints after you stepped into something wet(a pool of water, blood or mud), I can see the sense in that but other than that I think it wouldn't be worth the effort.
  18. Might make sense for Private Servers, if there is going to be any for the Standalone. I could see people do youtube series with DayZ similar to what the Yogscast did with Minecraft or for things like the Survival GameZ.
  19. At the very least the gps device should require batteries, same as any other electronic devices and I'm pretty sure that's going to be the case in the standalone.
  20. Actually The War Z is probably more like to implement this than DayZ, so maybe you should go there? The whole point of having 'zombies/infected' is that they don't require a lot of AI programming and don't take up a lot of resources, so I'm pretty confident in saying they are meant to be dumb.
  21. I actually dislike the crashed helicopters anyway, and think they should be removed. Though at any rate they should at least be more rare. It just doesn't make any sense to me that there should be so many crashed helicopters around.
  22. Most of those problems will be solved with the standalone, I'm sure. As for the whole 'atmosphere' thing, I think you might like a suggestion I made: Dead Bodies and Dormant Zeds
  23. Oh my god... you cannot be serious. Why don't you just play ArmA 2, they have that kind of stuff. There really is no point in having this sort of vehicle in a Zombie Survival Game. It'd be nothing else but a major trolling tool and would not add anything to the acutal game experience.
  24. No they're not. Archievements are stupid, especially the ones you're suggesting. DayZ isn't about getting some dumb achivement, it's about survival. Besides, Rockets goal is it to make the game immersive and authentic, I'm not sure about you but I haven't noticed any 'achivements' or guns appearing out of thing air in real life and even though DayZ is just a game it'd still be quite the immersion breaker. If you're looking for a more casual and relaxed Zombie Survival Game that doesn't give a dime about immersion and authenticity I heard a game called 'The War Z' will provide exactly what you are looking for. Maybe your suggestions will find more appeal there.
