currency and gun dealer idea (not finished)

Things like these have been suggested a million times before and a million times they get shot down in the replies. If you want NPC's selling guns and save zones, please go play WarZ I heard they will have that kind of stuff.

    Hero spawn benefits.

No, that's where you're wrong. Being a 'Hero' in a post apocalyptic world should be hard and there shouldn't be any artificial reward. The only reward you should get is the gratitude of the people you have helped and the satisfaction you get from being the good guy despite what the world has turned into.
  8. 1. You should stop spamming. 2. Advertising starting gear like that and that many vehicles like it'S a good thing? What the hell?

Lock sniper rifles in first person?

All this 'it's not realistic' stuff is bullcrap. Third person is there to compensate for the fact that first person is in fact not realistic at all either. If you watch a few interviews with the people from bohemia about Arma 3 they explain why third person is in the game pretty well. Also, I hate running in first person. The way the screen shakes makes me feel sick. I like to look at my character too.

Add Lingor Island in the South

AS interesting as Lingor Island might be, in my opinion it just simply doesn't catch the post apocalyptic feel quite as good as Chernarus does. So, no I wouldn't like that. Besides, no it wouldn't make sense, Lingor Island is a tropical climate. That being off the coast of Chernarus with its mild climate would be simply idiotic. While I agree that the maps should be bigger and maybe there should even be a possibility of multiple maps on one server with some sort of transitioning between them, it should make at least some sense and not be just implemented without putting much thought into it.

    More Practical Updates

lol, that makes me laugh so hard each time someone gets on these forums and posts something like this. It's your own god damned fault. Buying a game for a MOD and expecting it to be free of bugs and completly accessible is just idiotic, sorry. Just got to WarZ please, we'd be well rid of you Sir.

I'm sure they will add custom weapon attachments in the standalone.

    GETTING. INFECTED.

The problem with this is that these arent Zombies per se. They are infected, as Rocket himself has pointed out many times in interviews. Which means they aren't dead, so the whole 'reanimation' thing is of the table. Though that doens't mean there couldn't be some sort of infection turnin you into one of those things, just it couldn't involve your death. What I think might be possible is that the current survivors have been immune to the virus so far, but viruses can mutate and become more deadly and agressive. So maybe this Virus went from being ariborn, to being transfered from human to human through the blood of the infected(28 Day Later anyone?). When you get infected you then start to notice some spasms that keep getting worse the more time passes, you get a fever, blurry vision and eventually you pass out. Once you pass out you're basically 'dead' or rather turned. After a few minutes you wake up and no longer have control over your character, at this point all you can do is abort. My two cents.

    Arma 3 - Standalone Features

Rocket himself said the DayZ standalone will use a '2.5' Version of Arma's engine. Many of the features from Arma 3 will make it into the standalone but the engine will be tweaked especially for this game as to fit DayZ. Just watch some interviews with Rocket and you'll get what I mean.

    Gangsters in DayZ

Next thing you want to shoot your gun sideways. lol But on a serious note: I've got to agree with Warped_Jack here. Just sounds like some sort of Team Deathmatch, Blue vs Red you're suggesting here and that is not something I'd like to see within DayZ.

Just put a full bandit skin

I actually have to agree with this. If the Hero gets complete new set of clothes then the bandit should too.

    A static skill system.

As this is a game, not the real world and it would keep 'lon wolf' players from accessing certain aspects of the game, yes it would be punishment for playing on your own. I agree that this should be tested and I think this is the best plausible mechanic for adding such a 'skill system' to the game. Wether it is truly good or bad and actually would change anything can only be decided once it has been implemented and actually play tested.

Salvaging my DayZ ideas from June 2011 and March 2012

Mostly quite valid suggestions you make. But most of all I like the Romero/Walking Dead type zombies, they are just simply better in my opinion. Especially because of the whole getting infected part you describe and the tension it could create within a group.

More choice on where to spawn.

    This.

    To Stop Hackers

I think what you're looking for are official servers, hosted and administraded by the DayZ Staff or Bohemia(standalone).
  22. starwarsfan@gmx.de

    A static skill system.

My problem with idea is that it would, unlike you're suggesting punish 'lone wolf' players. They wouldn't be able to do many things because they simply wouldn't have the right 'skill' or 'profession' choosen. I agree that it might bring a need for group play, but I think this would only help organised groups like clans to get an even bigger advantage over the casual player as they could just coordinate who takes what skill and they will most likely have at least one player for each skill making other players useless again. The casual group on the other hand might always be lacking that one guy with that skill they need. Also, I feel that this might take away too much of the freedom this game provides you where you can really do whatever you want to do and are not bound by any sort of required skill to do so. I apprechiate the idea but don't think it would add enough to the game to be worth what it takes away.
