  1. It can't be that hard to make a script that prevents player vs player damage. If you can't do it yourself, find someone who can. Why not contact the developers of the private hives and ask for such a feature? Rocket is certainly not going to add it, he said so himself.
  2. And I want people to use the search, tag their posts properly and don't make new threads about ideas that have been beaten to death. We don't always get what we want.
  3. The Private Hive's are frequently updated, might take a while once a new update come out for it to reach private hives but just a few days at maximum.
  4. Some of those things are already planned for the standalone, some are impossible due to engine limitations and some are just stupid. Try filling gasoline from a jerrycan into a bottle... good luck.
  5. Are you people seriously retarded? With the creation of the Private Hive, no one is stopping anyone from making a freakin PvE Server. So what the hell is your problem?

    Notches and ears.

I can very well life with out being able to defile player corpses. Rocket said there would be a sort of Diary where your stats are recorded and other people will be able to pick it up, that's trophy enough for me. No need to cut up peoples bodies. On the note of Notches on weapons, I like the idea of being able to scratch something into the side of your gun. It would really make you feel attached to your gun in a way. It's could be a very creative tool to draw you further into the game immersion wise. Obviously prone to abuse, what isn't these dayz?
  7. Swim, or... just google yourself a teleport script. I mean no one can blame you for that I think.

    Over Eating

As long as eating is the only way to restore your blood without another persons help, this is a bad idea. I can see this for the standalone when the health system got an overhaul.
  9. Okay, so I've seen a few ideas pop up now and then about 'Events' like the Helicopter Crashsite. I myself would like a lot more of such 'events' within the game as they could bring much more dynamic into the game and add a lot of immersion. I'm not necessarily talking about big loot spots like the Heli Crash, but even subtle things. Like a random dead body within the woods with a handgun and a note on him suggesting he killed himself. There should be plenty of these Events and at each Server Restart or after a certain amount of time a number of them would be placed on the map at random. What I would like to do with this Thread is collect all the ideas the people on this Forum can come up with to make it more accessible for the Development Team to overlook, maybe help curb all those threads on the same topic popping up all the time and create a huge list of 'events' to choose from. So please fell free to post your ideas down below and I'll add them to this post and give you credit. How to Post your Idea: Name Description -Loot/Items to be found Random Events: Car Crash: A car crashed against a tree with a dead person inside. -repairable car -handgun -jerrycan Dead Man: A dead body, somewhere within the wood or in a remote location. Maybe next to a tent and a fireplace. The body should contain a handgun and a note suggestion the person killed himself out of despair or addressing a loved one. -handgun -note -tent -food/drink -backpack Abandoned Campsite A small group of tents and a fireplace, with dead bodies and a very small zed spawn. Would also have some small loot piles in the tents, giving the impression that the survivors there were happened on by some zeds, and fled. -Loot piles contain chances for some civilian weaponry + ammunition. -Food/Drink -Basic Medical Supplies (Bandages, painkillers, smaller chance for morphine, and very rarely antibiotics.) -Perhaps some diaries, notes, with entries from survivors.

  11. Right... small. lolThe Zombie mechanics will be changed in the standalone, the spawning will be one of those, I'm quite sure. With the mod I don't think you can do much more at the moment.

    MAP REDESIGN!

    Sense, you make none.

    dayz is ruined

U mad bro? But seriously, your post is neither a suggestion nor in anyway construcitve. Hacking is a known problem and is a problem inherent to Arma, which is a very trusting game and open to modding. The problem will be solved in the standalone. Until then, I suggest you look for a well moderated Private Hive, they usually have higher security measures in place and allow the admins to kick and ban people. But you will have to deal with abusive admins and the like, but there are a few good servers out there.
  14. Wow... no. This isn't some MMORPG with bosses.
  15. What? You're not making any sense. No one's talking about the current nametag feature here. What he suggested would only be 'Line of Sight'. So ther wouldn't be any 'oh that bush has a name'.
  16. That's a lie! Every woman on the internet is a fat guy in his mothers basement and every kid on the internet is an FBI Agent.Have you not read the rules of the Internet???
  17. *cough*private hive*cough*
  18. I think it mechanic is really stupid. Has killed me a couple of times lately while playing on private hives. I really don't see how this adds anything to the game, execpt an unpredictable way to die. Without the debug monitor you can't even really tell when you're in the 'danger zone'. To all those people talking about getting knocked out being realistic... uhm... lol Seriously, I'm running at full speed a zombie running after me, gets in a hit randomly scratching my back and I fall unconcious. Totaly realistic this situation. You people really got to stop with the realism argument. If anything this game tries to be authentic and this mechanic is anything but that. I'm sure this problem will be gone with the standalone though, so I really don't care if they change it in the mod anytime soon.
  19. Yes, there is a whole section for Private Hives on this Forum.http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/forum/64-private-hive-discussion/
  20. lol, I thought everyone would know by now.A private hive is a private Server that is not connected to the acutal DayZ hive and uses its own databases and so is not bound to server regulations and rules. They can basically do whatever they want, in your case prohibit PvP.
  21. Did you read the OP? He siad, those 'dots' would only appear after you've 'shaken hands' and introduced yourself. All I was saying is that instead of those weird 'dots' it should simply display the names.Besides, if you read my whole post you'd know that I said that I don't like the idea and think the only clues as to who is who should be clothing and faces. No nametags and that sort of stuff.
  22. Not really a big fan of this really, instead of this weird dot I'd rather just have peoples names appear when I look at them. Hopefully the recognition will become more easy once they have added character customization in the staandalone, but I actually think it should be hard to tell firends from strangers and that there shouldn't be any indicators other than clothing and faces.
  23. The Idea is that within towns and maybe by a rare chance even in the woods, dead bodies should be spawned in more or less random places. For example, within a house sitting in a chair or in cars on the drivers seat. With this in place you could add the so called 'dormant' Zombies/Infected. Dormant Zombies are Zombies that stay in place until they are prompted to move by a certain trigger like if you get to close to it, or stay in it's reach for too long. Now by an small chance one of the dead bodies will be spawned as a dormant zombie. So for example, you go looting in a town and go into this house, there are a few dead bodies spread across a few of the rooms. One of them is lying in the bath tub with a gun in his arms. You think 'Jackpot' and go grab it. Now that guy was a dormant Zombie and starts to move as you try to grab the gun. Another example, you find a car with two 'dead bodies' in it. One's in the drivers seat the other on one of the back seats. You drag out the one in the drivers seat and get in his place to see if the car's got any fuel and is still operational. As you start up the car, the body in the bacl starts moving and tries to kill you. This is just a small suggestion to further immersion and briing in a little 'fear factor'. You never know who of these 'dead bodies' might just get up and try to kill you.
