Beast rig, very similar to mine. For reference, on max everything 1920x1080, I'm getting 70-80fps in forests, fields etc, and 40-60 in towns and cities.

They took 2 weeks off over christmas and new years after a year of hard work. They would have only got got back stuck into it a week ago. That's barely enough time to add anything at all. Be patient young one.

I don't like the sound of the idea, the game is already copping flack due to them spending so much time on fiddly little details like this. Can you imagine? "Hey, hey guy! Wait up! I've got to brush my teeth real quick!"

Because Arma and DayZ are poorly optimized, and don't fully utilize any CPU or GPU, no matter how good they are

Personally, I wouldn't want any more than 70-80 on a map the size of Chernarus. Maybe in the future we'll see larger maps that can accommodate more players, and have large northern cities that entice players to actually roam the map instead of sticking to the coast.

There's no cheat system in place yet. Not much we can do at the moment, hackers will have their fun for awhile, and then when Rocket sneaks in a cheat system without the hackers realising, hopefully they'll all be banned, and laughter ensues.

This is the most overkill PC I've ever seen for someone that appears to have very little knowledge of PC Gaming (no offense). I hope no one is screwing you over here, and making you pay like $5k

I'd either go with an i3 3240, or an AMD 6300 along with a 7870 or a 650ti Boost. A compatible motherboard for under $90, 8gb of cheap ram, 1tb HDD, a 500w-600w PSU and a case is defintely do-able for $600.

That's a PC streaming DayZ to an Android. The Android tablet is not running the game, it is just recieving it via Wifi from a beefy PC

Air cooling is absolutely fine for the standard out of the box CPU, but not for overclocking. It just means you'll need to go a while without overclocking, and honestly, the i7 4770k is way out of the 8350's league, even when it isn't overclocked.

I voted yes, but it doesn't really worry me that much. The only issue I have with mouse movement is the god damned mouse acceleration.

Downgrade that 250gb SSD to a 120gb or 60gb. With the money you save, look at a better GPU, 650ti, 660, or even 670/760 (they are the same card, look for the cheapest one) if you can squeeze it in there

AMD Processors are running like shit at the moment in the SA. I can confirm this, because In have an AMD, and an Intel build. Although I agree with you on bang for buck. Personally though, anything about $180 is Intel territory.

When you have to jog several k's with over 30kgs of gear, a rifle and a chest rig that restricts the capacity of your lungs, it sure as fuck feels like you've got asthma!

I love my Alt+tabbing, maybe you should just try a different combination of key bindings. Obviously you've been running along holding down Alt and pressing tab to check your inventory like I have so many times before. Just change one of your keys, like your inventory, to another button. Problem solved! :D

Am I the only one that thinks this just looks like it makes everything lighter?

Everyone's used to DayZ Mod where when you eat or drink once, it fills the entire bar. DayZ is clearly different, it only fills a small portion of your hunger or thirst

I agree with you to be honest. Bohemia's idea of recommended graphics is like 20fps average which is crazy, and a minimum PC would struggle to run it at 15 fps. That's far from ideal, and often unplayable. My backup PC, which I've been using due to the fact that I'm away from home for 2 weeks, is well above the recommended, with a FX-6100, 8gb 1600mhz memory and a GTX 560ti OC'd. Yet I get about 20fps average in cities, sometimes dropping to 15, and about 30-35 in fields and forests all on very low-normal graphics. Not to say I'm complaining, because I'm used to it after years of Arma now, but I'd personally say that it's borderline minimum for DayZ

Seems like a placebo effect, because there is nothing in the notes about changes to loot and zombies. I haven't noticed a change since yesterday either. Maybe you just got unlucky yesterday?

At the moment, everyone is struggling to get off the coast because they die of thirst within 10 minutes. Wait until everyone realises that you actually need to head north to get good gear, then gear like this will be much less common as it only spawns once. People will get in firefights over M4's and larger backpacks. The game's barely been out for over a day yet.
