  1. It's cool getting to know some of the forum members on here. If that was the first day of the chat though, I'm frightened of what is to come in the future,

    Just saw Rocket again.

Not sure if this has been done yet, but oh well.
  3. The idea is great, but I feel it wouldn't work so well. We all have completely different music tastes, and there is only a very very small amount of info you can talk about each day. The interviews and information about the game would be relatively interesting, but I'm not going to listen to 2 hours of music I dislike in order to hear what day Dean is updating the dev blog. Sounds harsh, but it's the reality really. I'll stick to my pandora radio.

What are the best alternative maps?

How does Taviana feel dayzish and panthera doesn't? I just don't understand this love for taviana, it's too happy and lovely, there's flowers and pretty tree's everywhere, and it's snowing. It's also just one huge PvP and hackfest. Namalsk is a good map, but too many military loot spawns, so it's too easy to get good gear.

    The Black Lake Monster (footage)

There is more than 1 bunny in dayz. I can assure you that the devs would not be wasting their time making stupid monsters for a lake that hardly anyone visits, when they could be making the game better.

DayZ starting to pop up on steam

Yeah, that's what they do for me. Can anyone provide the exact name of the group, or whatever it is?

DayZ Recording with Dxtory, bad FPS

What codec are you using? Codec has a big effect on how your game runs while recording. Best one's I've heard so far are the x264 codec and the Lagarith codec which is what JackFrags uses, and I now use. It's a very good quality and you don't lose many frames either. Moving dayz and arma 2 over to your SSD won't do much, but recording onto your SSD will do. Having a fast hard drive is key to recording at a high frame rate.

    DayZ Standalone - Infected Movement

Hmm, this 'flailing' idea brings me to the idea of missing limbs? How cool would it be if the crawling zombies were crawling because it was missing 1 or possibly both of it's legs. Or imagine a zombie running towards you flinging it's one and only arm around in the air. Maybe a bit violent or extreme for dayz, but still an idea.

    DayZ Standalone - Infected Movement

They should run straight, but faster, so you have minimal time to turn around and shoot them.
  14. i-i'm not quite sure this is relevant to the "Christmas BBQ" that happened 6 weeks ago in any way.
  15. I'm afraid that having lots of players, and few hackers are not something that go together. Hackers target big servers, and all anti-hax do nothing until the damage is done, ie. the whole server being killed. Balota Buddies was probably the best I've been on so far though. I only played on there for a few weeks because most of the admins need a reality check, but I encountered a hacker only once in the weeks I was on there. The server was always at atleast 50 players when I was on as well.

Nice way to change the words that came out of his mouth, jerk. Giving you my beans just so I can take them away again.

I just had a look at your MOHW video again, and you clearly stated at the start is that you're struggling with commentating itself. I think you should talk about what's happening in game, what you're doing, why you're doing it, what you did wrong etc. My favourite youtube currently and has been for about 2 years now is THERUSSIANBADGER, what he manages to do is upload average everyday gameplay footage and make it interesting by talking about it in a certain way, and keeping it funny. Try not to force anything, just talk like it's normal. You'll get used to it eventually, and it will come naturally.

    Knocked out.. forever. Help?

Tell one of your friends where you are, then have them come kill you and watch your gear while you come back to get it.

    DayZ Let's Play

NOELonPC? Really? Do you do it in 1080p as well? How unoriginal.

One simple question Helo vs Heli

'Helo' is slang for helicopter in the military. It is pronounced 'he-low'.

I said this on another thread yesterday, but I'll say it again. When you're recording for video's, don't get very engaged in the game. You can laugh and stuff like that, but when you're 100% focused on the game you're playing you tend to start to say things like "umm, errrm, come on!, yess! uggggh" and shit like that. Try to do regular uploads, and do longer video's. Try to make a series if possible on something you enjoy doing. Maybe it's a certain type of dayz, for example you might want to do a DayZ Panthera series where all you do is play dayz panthera. Make sure the video's are entertaining. If you haven't already, make sure you get a good quality desk mic, you'll be surprised how much it improves the quality of your voice. Make sure you're always confident with your voice too, don't be quiet.

    DayZ at "149 FPS"

"GUYS I PUT MY VIEW DISTANCE AT 10,000 CAUSE I'M A REAL PLAYER EVEN THOUGH CHANGING YOUR VIEW DISTANCE DOES NOTHING AT ALL IN DAYZ BECAUSE IT'S SET SERVER SIDE" This is you right now.

    Is Cherno based on Chernobyl?

Chernarus is based on a real place, only in real life it's on a much larger scale. Namalsk on the other hand, in vorkuta it really does feel like your in Chernobyl.

    High performance private hives

If the whole purpose is to get excellent frame rates, you're going to get a heap of players. A heap of players = bad performance. But it's not just down to the fact there are 50 players on the server, it's the dead players, dead zombies, and also the amount of zombies around the map ie. if there is one player on a server in elektro, there will probably be max 70 zombies on the whole server, but if there are 50 players in most of the towns on the map, that's a whole load of zombies. tl;dr performance is more relative to the amount of people playing than anything else.
