Security Vulnerabilities fixed by Patch #2 and Character wipe
[email protected] replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
Thanks for the patches and keep them coming. Character wipes doesn't really bother me, because military loot is very common and i hope its reduced later on. -

READ THIS - The truth on the hunger/thirst issue
[email protected] replied to *Exile* Sami's topic in General Discussion
I had some trouble with thirst and hunger at first day, but now its starting to feel easy to manage. When we get more character status info to the inventory screen, after that we might get less post's about these problems. Also game feels a lot different than mod, which is a good thing and i hope surviving stays challenging. -
Flight stick support in standalone
[email protected] replied to JDM (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have TM Warthog replica stick, throttle, rudder pedals, pretty amazing hardware but i play flight simulators. My first joystick was Logitech Extreme 3d pro, really good for that 40€ price and good controls for most of the games. -
DayZ SA rough release date?
[email protected] replied to lukem814's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Maybe in couple months. -
To Everyone Complaining About 1.7.7
[email protected] replied to NovaDose's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Its starting to feel again like survival game not pvp, maybe there is some tweaking with infection but direction is right. Sneaking is very effective against zombies with new character, but i see way too many people sprinting near zombies. Remember that Dayz Standalone is going to focus a lot in survival, so its more thinking than running and shooting everything that moves. -
This new patch sounds interesting, i still remember early days of dayz which was over year ago and it was really challenging.

E3 and our attendance
[email protected] replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Game definitely needs a weight system, so you can't carry big items in your pockets and multiple guns in backpack. -
I was lucky enough to interview Dean yesterday at E3 for almost 20 minutes

Nice video and thanks for it! -
E3 and our attendance
[email protected] replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Is there going to be a weight system, so you can't carry too much stuff in your pockets? Also original zombie animations look fine when comparing to new animations. I hope alpha is going to get delayed more, because its not ready for it and players will be disappointed. -
DayZ Standalone (Alpha Release Date June)
[email protected] replied to exomonkeyman's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Alpha release yeah, probably decent amount of bugs and missing a lot of content. Also its going to take at least 6-12 months to complete game, so don't expect complete game for some time. -
Imagine SA using the ArmA III engine
[email protected] replied to DayzForumer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Arma 3 has way better controls, graphics, animations and Standalone is going to be crippled by older engine. Next week i expect some SA video material from E3, i hope they are ready with latest build or its going to be delayed. -
No DevBlog this week but here is some screens
[email protected] replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Decent UI and graphics, but when we get some video material about zombies and real gameplay? -
A not-announcement announcement for the forums!
[email protected] replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Yea just wait for February at least, then we can start to test alpha! -

Any chance interiors could be interactive? Like using fireplace to cook stuff and maybe fridge/cabinets to store items?- 169 replies

I hope standalone alpha is decent, some people might get mad about bugs etc. when buying it in alpha (cheap price). I probably just keep testing alpha but not forcing myself to play it if there are serious problems. 4 months of testing mod was probably too much because it still have problems, doing it again would be just nuts if its taking long to release game.
-
Going to play both and sticking with better one!
-
Maybe alpha this year and next summer standalone release, need to fix bugs and test new features.
-
Kinda disappointed that is only 2.5 engine, arma 3 seem to have customization for gear (helmets, vests etc) which would awesome for dayz. Also Dx11 should be in every game because it supports hardware better and usually optimization is good. Underwater system could add some interesting gameplay if map is made for it, so you can search shipwrecks to get more beans or have safe house underwater cave. I hope they at least add character customization and way to get better stamina etc. when running for weeks (want to survive and its harder to get than gear)

Should we remove barbed wire in the next update

Rocket: Losing faith.
[email protected] replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have been playing this mod about 4 months and its still in alpha, lots of bugs and hackers are big problem too. Standalone needs to be really good but its going to take a lot of time, so playing alpha version again is probably too much. WarZ beta is starting in one month so going to test it and hoping Dayz will get better.
