Is having hacked weaponry bannable?
suspense replied to Charlizard's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I did, and i am telling you, its not a script thats running. Its a response from the hive, which you cannot alter. I already told you this. Unless you have specific code in your logs with keywords such as spawnvehicle, spawnweapon, player add, outside of hive syncs, then its not a hack in use. -

You shouldnt. Its against the Day Z rules, as a server admin, you should have read those. -

How do you explain my friends, that only just started playing the game. A dad, and his son, coworkers being introduced, a random guy just stumbling over the game. These people have no idea whats in the game and what isnt. If you are oblivious to this, then i dont know, somethings not clicking right in the upper apartment. You are breaking Day Z rules, you are not any better then people using a hacked weapon. -

If everyone did what you did, we would have a problem, would we not? Why dont you link the thread? I looked through all rockets posts, and i dont see it. The official server rules and guidelines on the knowledge base is what counts, as those are official. They clearly states No kicking and no banning unless you can prove said person was hacking, or using racist remarks. Any kicks or bans outside of this, can result in ID being revoked. The rules are there for a reason, and you are breaking them because why not.... Its not up to us. -

The general consensus of NON day z staff i suppose, they have no say in this. I agree that kicking them after warning them about the weapon is fine, but banning i dont agree with. There could be several reasons why someone having a "hacked" weapon, wouldnt be able to see the message or understand it. -

No it cant, read the battleye website http://www.battleye.com/support.html Clearly states you wont be banned for using hacked items or vehicles, only for spawning them. Thats just a completely wrong attitude towards it. Day Z stated the rules, you dont have the right to take away the ability for anyone to play, unless they are clearly hacking. If everyone did as you did, a lot of people would have trouble playing because hackers spawn weapons on everyone on the server. Its not up to you or any other admin to bend the rules Rocket put in place. -

Correct, and at that point, you do not have sufficient evidence that he did in fact spawn the weapon, thus you should not be banning or kicking him. Its clearly in the guidelines in the Day Z rules. -

You realise that a huge amount of the playerbase, are new players that dont even know what weapons are in the game right? This is the exact problem with player hosted servers lol. Follow the Day Z rules, DO NOT BAN OR KICK people for anything except hacking, and racism. -

You arent allowed to kick or ban for picking up "hacked" weapons -

You wouldnt be getting hive messages, if someone was spawning weapons. Look for the actual script itself, this looks more like saves to the hive, or relogs. -
Adding Arma II OA Objects to DayZ on Private Server?
suspense replied to Thiefnuker's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
No, they cant. They are running emulated hives which are based on rockets code, and rocket never gave consent to use it. He said he MIGHT in the future, right now its not allowed. Its stupid to come here openly asking for help to run one. -
Adding Arma II OA Objects to DayZ on Private Server?
suspense replied to Thiefnuker's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Private servers are not allowed by the Day Z staff, you shouldnt be posting here. -
Not exactly. Its very likely that a year old bypass is detected, so no that would not work. In ArmA 2s case, a year old "script" would work in the game with a new "bypass" because scripts dont really change, bohemia created them so events can happen during a multiplayer game. An example, when you log in to the game with your DayZ char, you actually run a script to spawn your inventory.

suspense replied to Dirty Rotten Scoundrel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is not exactly correct. The methods of executing scripts are not complicated, no. But bypasses are, and these are made by more experienced people, and then run by "script kiddies" so that they can run scripts through cheatengine/executers etc. -
Standalone by September? No chance
suspense replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Actually, what he said was "I dont see why it wont be standalone by the end of the year, if not by me, then by someone else" Hint hint, War Z. He was very smart using that set of words ;) -

No, you dont know how game development works and anti cheat security. You have clearly showed this in this thread. I honestly wonder how you are employed doing what you do, if in fact you are doing what you say you are. Theres no reason to release any statements, like is this your first PC game? What are you even trying to say... Battlefield 2, ancient game, still hacks for it, no changes in source, no "statements" Call of Duty, ancient game(s) still hacks for it, no changes in source, no "statements" Crysis, ancient game(s) still hacks for it, no changes in source, no statements. Battlefield 3, year old game soon, still hacks for it, no changes in source, no statements. Anti-cheat systems works on the side, doing what they can with what they have. Its how it works, its how its always worked. -

Thats not the point. You are in the first place, comparing 2 completely different form of systems, that in no way relates. In the video game industry, anti cheat systems are contracted to handle a mandatory peice of software on the side, to look for memory injections, manipulation, altering of game files etc etc. They do this mostly seperate from the company that contracted them, unless something big happens. They do not have access to change game mechanics, rewrite code, remove features, add features or anything within the game. They are solely developing the anti cheat client. It is like this with all anti-cheat systems. The core of the problem, as the battleye representitive said, lies with Bohemia and their very open multiplayer engine which worked FINE until Day Z. Battleye is doing what they can, with what they have got, and its definatly not an easy job. You just have no understanding of how these systems work, and your absurd childish behaviour here on the forums leads me to believe, you wont ever get educated in regards to these things in the gaming industry, and you probably wont listen to reasoning and facts either. -

They are "somewhat" responsible for security, they work alongside bohemia. But, a security company can only do so much with what they are given. Let me elaborate on your example If your medical software company hired EMC with the task of securing your 50 computers which are stored in a shed, outside the business, with no lock on the doorhandle and only a simple windows login to access all the files, EMC has no way of changing "source" in this case, move the computers to a safer location, putting a lock on the door, and increasing the login on the computers. All they can do, is try and make sure no one gets away, once they have breached. Who would you be mad at, if you wer breached? http://i.imgur.com/JaQsJ.png http://i.imgur.com/gtEAA.png http://i.imgur.com/vH5ji.png Please stop being stupid -

What he is saying is completely right, and you are an absolute retard for writing such email to battleye. They have done several banwaves, they are doing what they can. But the ultimate blame for the abilities and ways of completely ruining servers, are the fault of bohemia, NOT BATTLEYE. -
No, if you load the game through the steam account that had the game license that was banned, it will overwrite the registry and load the "banned" cd key. You need to create a new steam account, and buy the game with that account, and also launch it with that account.
-
Global bans are issued on cd keys. Buying a new game and installing with a new cd key will allow you to play again

how do priv hives work?
suspense replied to john@thesmileyone.co.uk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Private hives are altered and changed, theres no way to say what it spawns. It could spawn jack shit, it could spawn tanks and jets. You shouldnt come here to try and get support, private hives are not condoned by the Day Z team, which is obvious. -
Global Ban again in the right Forum
suspense replied to ramazoti's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Please read the sticky... Global bans are NOT supposed to be posted on the dayZ forums.
