yea I highly recommend the wiki as it will walk your through everything regardless of your setup. The guy above is correct in that it just cannot find the files. i believe heli crash sites are different per server

1.) depends on where you go 2.) no. direct is proximity based 3.) about 40m 4.) idk you probably put it on the ground. 5.) icons are body temp, thirst, blood amount, and hunger 6.) the zombie knocked you unconscious. its rare, but it happens. 7.) only legs get broken. fixed with morphine auto injector (looks like a stick). there is a broken bone icon that appears (not to be confused with the shock icon) cheers :) use the wiki.

ALT + ENTER its a convention in just about every game to use that. make sure you press that when the game is accepting input (not while loading) like on the main menu.

DayZ is in Alpha. the beta patch is for Operation Arrowhead.

One time payment. Monthly fees could work, but I think it would epic to see an mmo with a 5 or 10 dollar sub instead of the 15 bucks we always see. If it fights hackers and adds content, I'm down for a sub fee even if it is 15. Community and developer run servers. Could be beneficial as an experiment. idk I'd say developed professionally. I just don't want to see it fall into the wrong hands. Lead us, icemotoboy.

It sounds like you are referring to the LOD "popping". The game swaps out higher or lower detailed images and models depending on a couple factors like distance from your viewing plane or even how close it is to the center of your screen (your look vector). Unfortunately, I do not believe that Level Of Detail rendering mechanics have any settings that the user can modify. You could try tinkering with different advanced graphics settings, but to be honest I'm pretty sure that LOD is independent of all the graphics options since it is generally needed to keep a 3D environment running smoothly... especially in outdoor environments where objects can be at great distances. The Arma engine's LOD pops like crazy; I know. Let me know if you have any luck with graphical setting combinations :)

I was on two different servers, us 104 and us 2XX today (maybe us 244 not sure), and suddenly all the players on the server were simultaneously warped to one area. The first time we all got warped to cherno (us 104 some time around 1-3am est). Most people just logged but I know a bunch of people died in the fray. The second time we were warped, it was to the beach; looked like a spawn location. Maybe Kamenka, but not really sure since that was when my friend and I decided it was best to call it a night. It was freaky xD Not long after the first mass warp, I also got warped to debug sans gear. Possibly related. Who knows :)

your just missing a semi colon ";" between "ca" and @dayz" should look like this: :run call "%_ARMA2OAPATH%\Expansion\beta\ARMA2OA.exe" "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca;@dayz" if its not that then double check that you have 14 files in your @dayz/addons/ folder. (.pbo and .bisign file extensions)

ok so most likely its just a launch thing at this point. now for me... I bought both on steam so i just follow the "steam beta patch installation" where it says to add ";@dayz" to one of the lines of text in a file called _runA2CO_beta.cmd. some times i have to double check that file when i install new beta patches. you run that .cmd to launch the game. you can make a shortcut to it if you want for your desktop. dont bother trying to launch it from steam :) make sure you join servers that are up to date

plus you may need to manually update battleye. http://www.battleye.com/download.html if you still can't figure it out, it may do you well to just troubleshoot six updater or follow the wiki's six updater links/instructions. it will handle everything if you can get it to work.

http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php you want the one in green 95168. it doesn't matter where you put it. you just run it. then if you make sure you have the .rar files in place and uncompressed, all you have left to do is edit the launch shortcut i think. and its good to have ran arma at least once. and ran OA at least once to init some stuff.
