I thank the modders for a great job at making this free to people and a different experience than most games. I've been playing ARMA2 since it was released and still get annoyed at engine glitches that I know aren't the fault of DayZ devs. Firstly alot of attention was brought onto DayZ during 1.5.6 which had the lowest Zed and loot spawns I've seen. The unfortunate side effect of the patch was that it promoted a style of play that should be less common, the "solo bandit". There were more "shoot first" and loot gear survivors than ever which allowed bandits to kill without agro of zombies. Now 1.5.7 has raised those Zed numbers (I have yet to log on and play 1.5.7), I hope it promotes more co-operation. Need the good gear? grab a group of friends and raid the town. Unfortunately 1.5.6 allowed too much soloing for areas that should be densely populated with Zeds. My friends and I discussed that we would like to see areas where you needed help to clear it out. This is the "big prize loots" where going in solo is virtual suicide and co-operation with survivors is essential. Again we'll see how the next patch goes but good work DayZ devs :)

If you already own ARMA2 then just get Operation Arrowhead and patch it to Combined Ops. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?101214-ARMA-2-CO-%28how-to-combine-ARMA-2-into-ARMA-2-OA-and-use-together%29 For steam version I would suggest you get the Combined Ops pack as ARMA2 through Steam is a right pain.

Last night I spawned near one building ..... spotted someone in it and moved towards a wall to stay out of view ..... then I noticed someone else prone in the grass to my left. I did a dance to the left and he started firing. Managed to avoid all bullets coming my way but in self defence I killed the guy (I didn't fire first and I ain't going to stop to type when I can die). Went from humanity of 2560 down to 80 just trying to save my own skin, this has annoyed the hell out of me :dodgy: With the scarce loot since 1.5.6, alot of ppl are shooting first without provocation. Maybe it adds atmosphere but I think the humanity rating needs to be looked at in cases like these where you had to defend yourself but your were lucky (or unlucky) to have the other guy miss you.
