Just listened to Rocket's interview with Sidestrafe and thought on an idea for some sort of diary mechanic where you could document your survival. The diary could be kept in your backpack, taken out when required to write down some random events or your feelings at any given moment. I also think that if you were to be killed or die through illness, starvation, thirst etc, your personal diary could be found on your body by other survivors, this would leave some legacy for your time in the game world.

I think some news from the DayzDev team on this issue would help, patch has been out for a few days now, they must be aware of the issues but no comms.

What is the point in playing the game like this, your not "Robbing Noobs" your just killing for fun. Go away and play GTA asshole.

I'm sure a mechanic like this could be implemented, it could draw on elements from Celery's "Chernarus Apocalypse" mod. In the map menu of said mod you can read a letter which is in your inventory intended for your nearest and dearest in the event of your untimely death. Some of the best movies have been made on the strength of a fallen hero's Journal.

Hey People, i'm unable to launch Dayz today through six launcher, it says it "can't connect to remote server". Anybody having similar issues?

I purchased Arma2 CO just for the Dayz experience and have found how fantastic the original game is as well, if i have to pay for standalone Dayz so be it, i will still have a great time playing Arma2 CO.

Go to player profiles menu and then edit your name, you can also change the appearance of your player within this menu...hope this helps.

I've updated to 12.6 with my hd 6970 and not had any issues to report......so far!

I spawned in 'the wilderness' earlier tonight was promptly told 'i was killed' and that was that, my character had survived for 9 days,had pretty decent gear to, was devestated for a few moments then remembered games in Alpha.......shit happens life goes on... but i will return.....

All the Arma games are more demanding on your CPU rather than purely your graphics card, although a decent graphics card won't hurt

As it's supposed to be a realistic survival game there should be no difficulty levels to choose from, it's either one way or the highway!

Maybe the implementation of bear traps would create a similar scenario, i.e. you set a trap, you snare a survivor, you then could loot without killing.

My feeling is that the Infected should be of a shambling,walking variety. If we go on the premise that they were humans who have become 'infected' by a virus, surely this would make them feel a little 'under the weather'. We, in real life are usually laid low if we develop a viral infection. If you feel like shit the last thing you'd want to do is chase somebody down, even if you did want to eat there brains!

I believe you click on the mouse wheel next to your tent and it it should give some options i.e. save on old camping tent etc.

You can use the free version of Arma2 on steam(i believe it's the demo} and use that with Operation Arrowhead.

You can also try the benchmark tools within the Arma 2 game itself.

My suggestion to anyone starting out in Dayz is to try out the armory mode or boot camp to get a feel for the controls and enviroment before unleashing yourself into such a brutal world!
