Has anyone else come across players using aimbots?I don’t really know much about hacks etc, but I’m pretty sure I got shot by someone using some kind of aim assist. I’d logged in 400m from my clans base (we use the factory near Dolina).I was prone in the shade next to bush, wearing a ghillie suit.As soon as I logged in I scoped out the factory and sure enough there was someone in there running away from me behind a wall.2 seconds later he leans out and instantly takes a shot with one hit kills me. Now, I try not to cry hacks, but getting a shot on a prone person at 400m that quickly from behind cover when I’d only just logged in seems fairly suspect. Any thoughts?

I suppose what surprised me was how quickly he took the shot from leaning out behind cover. Keep in mind he'd just moved into cover so it wasn't a care of him lining up the shot of where I was and then only needing to lean out and fire, he didn't have the time or space. It appeared to me like he didn't aim at all, that was how quick his shot was. I'm not crying hacker though, we've all had lucky shots...it just seemed slightly suspect. Thanks for the responses, I'd forgotten about the standing up thing at login. -
Most people advertising a server would include some specifics, like crosshairs on, 3rd person etc etc.

I cannot give credit to people who put themselves and others around them at greater risk. Not only are they more likely to get shot for not responding instantly over direct chat using voice, but in any kind of group situation they are a massive danger to their allies. Dayz should not be played without a mic. -

Kudos to you for an original idea, though I think it needs some work. Hopefully this kind of thing will be included in the standalone with underground bases that require a massive group effort to repair and maintain. Have some beans to making the effort and ignore the tards.

Do you have proof? Get fraps and go back there. If you can show you weren't hacking and they kicked you for no good reason, you have a case. -
I'm calling setup. No way anyone who had gone to the trouble of getting a helicopter would sit there and let you shoot them so much, unless this was a hacked in chopper. I think it was one of your mates just before a server reset ate up everything anyway.

A possible comprimise to this issue would be for players to have the ability to drag dead players (just as they can with unconscious players) around and hide their body somewhere else. However, their body wouldn't be hidden in the sense it would vanish into the ground, it would just be somewhere nearby. Combine this with a 15-30 minute timer until the corpse really does vanish and you have a fair system. If a player kills you and wants to stop you getting back to your body, they have to physically move your dead body to somewhere you won't find it, which is a fairly risky venture given you can't shoot whilst dragging.

You are feeding the trolls. If you don't understand this you perhaps need to go look at any video on youtube. Doesn't matter if it is some innocent kids party, or even just paint drying for 10 minutes. Trolls will find someone to annoy in the comments section. ps, grammar is your friend.

I agree there should be 3 Helicopters but they should not spawn in airfields, as these locations are already camped by snipers (or they will be once tents and duping is fixed) and the best loot in the game should not be in the same place as the best vehicles. Skalinksy Island is a good location for one, as there isn't any other reason to go there and getting there is a risky venture that usually requires a team effort (you can solo repair the chopper but it takes serious prep). Make the other spawn points random or so dangerous you'd need backup. So I think there is a spawn on top of the hospital in Cherno, and that is a good call because you stand a very good chance of being shot trying for that chopper. Also, we don't need new weapons to deal with helicopters. One good headshot on the pilot and everyone in the chopper is dead, plus they can be shot to pieces quiet easily with an enfield, or one shot from a .50 cal. I would say the chopper should not be able to fly without being fully repaired. This would mean you'd need a team to repair it.

Some players run faster due to lower Ping. I have seen this time and time again with my buddies (I usually play on a US server despite being from Scotland and they all are able to run faster than my character). Someone already said the game files don't have any evidence of these perks. Stay classy darlings. -
Making a base, how stable can it be?

My experience is that when you drop a tent and put stuff in it, then save it...after a server restart that stuff is now always going to be there, every reset and you won't be able to change its contents in a way that will save. So basically you can drop a tent, put a bunch of stuff there and that is all that tent will ever hold. -

More risk in being a hero character because in order to get that status you need to actually help people or shoot many zombies. Why should electro and cherno sniper campers get perks? For sitting in one spot and server hopping? Piss off. -

I've found one before. They are going to be used to power radio jammers which will stop anyone logging in within 1000m of the location the jammer is placed, IE..your camp. Probably for the standalone though. -

It should only work for bandits, as in the dog would sense their dangerous attitude. -
I wanna see the crossboy get upgraded with scope and the bolts come in 5 shot quivers, each quiver taking up one inventory slot. You'd still need to reload after every shot. Either that or let us stack the bolts manually. Blow dart/sleeping dart sniper rifle/pistol. Some weapon that can incapacitate a player almost instantly without killing them. This would let players defend themselves against potentially dangerous players without killing everyone and possibly ending the life of a fellow hero. Max range would be 100m.

I would like to see a flare gun of the kind you see in many movies. Pistol weapon that fires one flare high into the sky, then it sparks up and floats down on a little parachute, illuminating everything below. If shot at a player would hit for about 2k and possibly blind them akin to a flashbang. I wanna see more traps in this game. Tripwires that set of explosives (or just a trip wire that breaks a leg if you run past it) Proximity Mines (very rare)
