One time when I was raiding the airfield with two friends, I was sitting north of the hangars in the bushes and waited for my buddies to come to me from the barracks on the other side. I was carrying my first L85 AWS and had thermal vision on them. I knew how audibly shocked one would be if they got shot at, so I thought I'd shoot one bullet jus above their heads to scare them. Turned out I shot one of them in the leg.....

It seems to be a bug with the zombies. If a guy spawns zombies while in the area and then dies the zombies do not shift over to your presence, because you are near aswell; they just freeze, because the dead guy is supposedly still there.

But why does the DayZDB map no longer show clothing spawns in residential spawns anymore? Haven't found one either after 3 days of searching through towns constantly for hours.

Someone killed you while you where loading in. Your character appears in the debug area while you are loading. I believe it should tell something like "A-hole killed Slyguy (friendly fire)" on your screen.

I usually just respawn and walk back where I left my body in a secure place...

For how long have you known that alt+f4ing was possible and people often server hop in the same position you sat? Right. Don't be a fucking moron and blame the game for your stupidity. You knew server hopping at the barracks is a common thing, yet you persist in your false logic only to find a way to nag about your frustrations because you lost your precious beans. Find a new game.

Nope, the ones you are talking about are not snipers. Snipers can effectively shoot targets 600+ meters away even when they are running. You just encountered a whole bunch of noobs.

Most server with less than 10 people in it are guaranteed for people with the same idea. I'd say its higher risk to do that, than to go to a semi-full night server.The best tip I can give is: scout the area first. Zombies are only spawned near people, so look at every building first and see if there are zombies walking in a wide area. You can usually tell by the way the zombies are far away from eachother or really close together, for how long that person has been looting there. But beware that you will spawn zombies aswell, unless you go from the south part and walk straight towards the runway or more to the west side of the airfield.

It happens on a game like League of Legends aswell. If you stream, you're tough enough to handle it. If not, well, then don't stream.

Haha yeah I once threw a smoke grenade while I was inside a compound and it crashed ontop of me. I got away with some broken bones and 1k health. :P

Had the same thing. Logged back in in a totally different place and only had my backpack left.

Here's my story of the day: I log in and suddenly my whole inventory was wiped. All that was left was my backpack with crap inside. So I respawned myself and somehow respawned inside the walls of a house in Novy Sobor. WTF!? Since I was close to NW airfield anyway I started walking and found myself a sweet crash site with a dmr, ammo box for sniper mags and camo. I then found a ghillie suit in a house in Grishino! I was searching for ghillie all day; nice! I arrived at the airfield and saw a person inside the control tower. As I was about 800m+ away from the person I could not find a way to shoot him and search for his loot, so going from the two factory warehouses I went south until I got scared by a person logging in right in front of me. He had a ghillie suit and a dmr, but he dropped to the floor instantly. Clearly, he must have alt+f4d out of a battle and he was still in shock. I capped the bandit in his head and found the luckiest loot ever. DMR, Ghillie, M9 SD, Coyote, GPS, NVGs, Rangefinder, Toolbox. Pretty much everything you could ask for!

I can only think of pros when implementing a 30 sec idle. No cons involved.

Today, after getting killed, I respawned at Three Valleys just south of Solnichniy. I head along the road towards the first barn that I could find. Although what I hoped to be a swift journey to stary became something totally different. Even before I went into the barn I found a guy fending off zombies with a crowbar. I leg it into the barn as I had seen a sweet winchester up for grabbing. The person I saw was nowhere to be found at that point, so I retraced my steps to the place I saw him at first. I wasn't paranoid whatsoever as I just spawned and the guy only had a crowbar with him. Nothing I couldn't handle. But all of a sudden I saw another person standing in the barn I was in just a moment ago. He, however, was carrying a gun that could potentially one shot me, a double barrel shotgun, as I was standing close to him. I quickly fired, not sure if he would do the same to me or not. Then, all of a sudden, I located the crowbar man behind me. This time I did get paranoid and shot him without hesitation, following into a horde of zombies strolling towards me and collecting themselves around the barn I had moved to. Little did I know there was another survivor unarmed trying to get rid of the zombies in the same barn. He wasn't sure if he could trust me, but after getting rid of the zombies I told him to pick up the shotgun of the other person. As paranoid as I was, the moment he picked the gun up I fled the scene in order to not get shot by a possible ungrateful bastard. I moved towards the northwest and while travelling I heard either a plane or a heli at the place I left the survivor, concluding with some shotgun shells fired. I moved away from the barn and there it was, in a little collection of houses just before Dolina, a sweet tractor ready to be driven around for fast loot collecting. It had no fuel, though, so I had to go back to 'the barn of demise' to get the fuel tank I saw there. The sky was painted crimson red by a hellish fire coming from the coast. Surely a heli crashed there. I got the fuel tank and sprinted away, being paranoid as ever. I drove my tractor to the nearby factory to refuel and stock up on supplies and hopefully find a toolbox, if lucky. Ofcourse, I hear shooting nearby and not knowing for what reason I checked it out. A person was shooting zombies along the road towards Polana. I initially thought he was returning to the factory after hearing me parking the tractor inside the fenced off area. Luckily he did not hear me, but what could have been the reason that he didn't loot the factory? He found a crashed heli site and took all the loot! Soon after looting the factory without problem I drove up to the crash site and tried to find loot that already had been looted out though. I returned to my tractor and suddenly I hear shots fired at me from one of the hills overlooking the crash site. This must have been the guy from before, I thought. He was firing either a m14, DMR or m24. I fled into the forest with my tractor and set myself up so that I wouldn't lose everything if I got killed by him. I heared many stories about snipers who didn't move position after failing their shots, so I tried to sneak behind him. With my trustworthy winchester I made it to the hill I thought the shot were coming from, and do note he shot atleast a whole DMR clip at me without success, and there he was. I found him by luck and just got off that one shot, otherwise I would have been smoked by his Bizon sd. I grab his Bizon and DMR and ofcourse do my victory dance. I'm back in the game. Someone shooting so poorly with a DMR shouldn't own one!

Where are you from and what kind of servers do you usually join? As in country and busy/quiet servers? I hardly fraps DayZ though, because it makes me lag a lot, but I wouldn't mind tagging along protecting your back. ^^

Funny... The only use for the l85 is for spotting, and spotting bandits in particular. See where I'm heading with this post? Yeah... Survivors who are looting will spawn zombies around them and thus make it easy to spot them without thermal. Snipers laying down for hours, waiting for a kill will not spawn zombies (if they place themselves well enough). They will be hard to see when they have ghillie on and are camping inside bushes. The purpose for the l85 is only to catch those bandits you all hate so much. Oh, but wait, you must be that bandit who got axe murdered from behind after sitting still for 2 hours.

Glowsticks here! I saw it all the way from the northern hills at Grishino! I actually saw another one of those fireseas at the start of my journey in that same server. Two hueys in one server?

It would also be awesome if Rocket implemented a system for the radio. So when you encounter something weird in the forest you start with weird noises coming from your radio and then suddenly you start seeing weird stuff like: cows on fire, burka woman, paracows, gun noises, zombie screeches as if they were standing next to you etc. That would make the game so awesome, but it should only be an extreme rare occassion so that you will never expect it.

Yesterday I found a tractor in the middle of nowhere, when I was looking for a crash site. I drive around with it picking up supplies everywhere and suddenly I find an old hatchback which only needed two wheels. One wheel I had found somewhere else and then I had to look for another wheel. Little did I know a tent was close by and had but one wheel and some other crap inside it. So I went for a joyride with the hatchback and trashed it in stary sobor for the heck of it. 106 km/h aw yea!
