I don't kill unless I feel threatened. I'm not hostile, just paranoid. There were countless incidents where I watched survivors go on about their own business without attempting to stalk or kill them. I felt bad after the times I did do it.. Because at least in this mod, you're erasing someone's effort and progress when you kill them, you're not just killing them for a stat, You're literally taking what time they gave in. -
what location are you at? i'll epi-pen you, but if you're near a major city or town, then... yea :\ no.

Equip them and press B, it'll tell you the distance to an object. Btw, both Binocs and Rangefinders can be used with night vision.

Hosting a LAN server or playing Single-Player
numerics replied to DrenNZ's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Or if you want a more sandboxish type of Zombie experience that works on LAN just fine, I suggest trying out: Dynamic Zombie Sandbox http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=15778 Here's some gameplay: -
I think the overwhelming growth of this project/mod has given you and your team a great deal of stress in regards to the responsibility and future development, of course in a sense 'all eyes are on you' with this whole thing, which makes every step (especially financially) nerve wracking. But you need to realize that people have been waiting for something like this to come along, something this in-depth and almost cinematic in terms of experiences, almost every single person in this community can pretty much write a book on their in-game experiences alone. The extremes in emotion that this mod brings out in a person is like no other multiplayer game or mod available. That feeling of dread when you are uncertain of an outcome of a situation, or that feeling of despair or hopelessness when you realize you've run out of options and you're lying there bleeding out, or what about the surge of adrenaline where your heart pounds through your chest because someone starts shooting in your direction? or the realization that someone has been stalking you? This type of stuff is unique to this mod. You can't find these type of experiences in WoW, or SWtOR.. Or even Left4Dead or APB. This mod alone has boosted sales through the roof, and that in itself you should be proud of... but like you said, you're a realist, and you know with it's current rate of growth, that the current model of this mod is not practical long-term. I know you probably have a lot of doubts and uncertainties about the road ahead for this game, especially with so much at stake, but I think you know when you think about it clearly, that this will succeed, as it already has in it's early stages. We're (The community) not leaving, and I'm sure the rest can agree that we hope you're not either.

I try to only play at night as well, I feel safer during then. The street thing.. I try to stay off all streets due to the fact that they're generally in the open to undead and player alike. I stick to the woods if I have an option.

I don't like the idea of not being able to cover your tracks if you don't want to be followed, like leaving an inevitable track that there is nothing you can do about. I personally always dispose/hide any bodies of the zeds I dispatch, I don't want anyone 1. on edge due to the fact that there are corpses around and suspect there to be a hostile player around (which I am not, but understandable if they assume so), and 2. looking for me by following a trail of bodies that i carelessly left behind. Foot steps are left by Players already, audible footsteps, and pressed grass when laid down as well. If there was some way to consciously cover our own tracks, then that'd be neat.

I made this for you all. - Amnesty

I think it depends on the time of day. They seem to be more active/awake during the daytime. And players tend to be a lot more noticeable to undead during the day as well, maybe that is what wakes them?

This one time I logged off and when I logged back on, my head hurt like crazy and I was all dizzy, when I opened my eyes, I was a bird. I think someone laced the Pepsi in my inventory with peyote. My inventory was also full of bird seed and twigs, for some reason I felt thoroughly satisfied with what I had.

DE2 Madmins or cheaters?
numerics replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I was on the same server yesterday, and about 5 minutes into playing, I noticed a large amount of people dying, i.e. 10-15 people all dying at once, and then people started raging as to how it happened, I immediately exited out of the server before whatever killed them killed me. I am starting to wonder if there is some exploit since the last patch, or maybe with that specific server? -
the 870 is amazing.

You must be new here :) If you mean new as in I don't camp the shit out of the airfields like Call of Duty girls then yes I'm very new at this. Haha what??? Chill brutha! Coyote backpacks are the starting bags' date=' I thought only the ALICE backpacks were 24 slot...and comparatively common compared to the aforementioned weapons [/quote'] I think he meant the Coyote [Large] Backpacks, which are 24 slots, there are Coyote [small] which is the standard starting bag, and ALICE which is 20 slots.

I found a couple from time to time, but they're impractical to carry, they take up your backpack slot, and the ammo for it is really scarce.

wait.. respond? you mean 'respawn'? i am confused.

He mostly roleplays as a Veterinarian, here he is checking on the health of this Bovine. Apparently it wasn't doing too well.

lol I guess it depends on how you see it, it's not like you need to get it to play. I mean if they really wanted to milk money from people they could make it where you can't play the mod due to the fact that you do not even own PMC at all, but at least they allow people who don't have it to play, just not allowing them to access the bought content by masking it. So in reality, it's not that bad.
-
no, it's forced if you do not own the pmc dlc.
