Bandit Diaires CANCELLED
*Regulator* Curt replied to rhinocrunch's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You know what's really funny? People make fun of people who play games and take them too seriously. You know what the truth is? Gaming can be the most destructive thing in your life, or it can really change your life for the better. In reality, as this demonstrates, games can help us learn more about ourselves -- and teach us lessons that will be with us for the rest of our lives. Anyways, +1 to you OP, welcome to the light side! -
Was that really necessary? Anyways, I can't speak to whether or not War Z will be a good game. What I can say is there are now two separate gameplay videos out involving it, and it doesn't look too bad. You be the judge.

You could try the Regulators. We're a group of friendly players who deal in assisting survivors in all ways we can (especially by killing Bandits). We're not like an ordinary clan/group however. We don't want to force people to play in a way that they don't want to. We let people decide whether they want to group up, or fly solo. This does not mean we don't have groups going -- on the contrary, we have over 160 registered forum members, and (especially in the EU/east coast) you're able to get a group fairly easily. But if you're looking for super a super professional group where you'll always be able to find another player to play with, we're probably not for you. If you're looking for a group that allows you to play the way you want to, that also can offer a group experience, we're exactly what you're looking for. If you're interested, you can sign up and read more here: http://regulators.freeforums.org/index.php

Feel free to give us any specific information you can. Our group does not condone killing, but it is important to realize that we have hundreds of members. It's impossible for us to ensure that there never will be pking -- though if there is we punish it swiftly and immediately. -
Ban under 18s and third party programs from the standalone

Kids will play it anyways, pretty much the only ones you'll keep out are the honest ones. More than that, a lot of kids are more mature that a lot of adults. Sure, their voice is squeaky, but character is more important than how deep your voice is. That's how it is for me anyways. -

Very cool, I too (prior to joining) had a similar playstyle. It's great to have you, if you haven't already, sign up on our forums where you can more easily get together with other Regulators. -

We didn't do it to brag, we did it to show the style of game we play -- protecting others. So what is comical exactly? Your post confuses me on so many levels. We hunt lone wolf bandits and bandit clans, we also search for hacker camps and such. We protect survivors and provide medical assistance. Most of us got our loot by raiding NW airfield, we didn't just get everything in Elektro... why would you think you got all of it in Elektro? -
The Coalition - Changing the Culture of DayZ
*Regulator* Curt replied to Dr Wasteland MD's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Very cool, very good answers. We're definitely (for the majority) a lone wolf group, so long as we can maintain that with the option to assist you guys directly if we choose, then we'd seriously consider joining the Coalition. We have nothing but the highest respect for what The Coalition is trying to do here, I'd just like to let you guys know that. -
The Coalition - Changing the Culture of DayZ
*Regulator* Curt replied to Dr Wasteland MD's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hey, I'm a Regional Coordinator (top rank) in the Regulators, a group of now 100+ friendly survivors who offer all forms of aid (medical assistance and protection mainly). We were offered a position early on, before The Coalition was properly announced. We decided to turn it down at that time, because we felt we needed to grow before we made any big choices like this. We're fairly large now, would we still be welcome? If we are, then I'd like to ask, are there any obligations of any kind (other than being friendly and so on)? It's important to note that we're mostly Lone Wolves and we have a nomadic playstyle. While some of us may be fine settling down on a server, or at least contributing somewhat to your group, we don't want any form of obligation (e.g. having to do patrols or something). What would be required of us? Also, do you condone behavior such as alt+f4ing in a legit fight? Or any other form of cheap gameplay/cheating? I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I've seen the occasional thread denouncing the CQF (perhaps wrongly) for doing/allowing this, so I'd just like to be sure. Note, even if both of your answers to my questions are positive, I can't promise we'll join. I'd just like as much info as possible so we can discuss it among ourselves. Anyways, thanks for your time. -

Would you like to point out my "hate" for the rest of us? I never said one hateful thing -- just that you were being immature. You were trying to demean someone else, and make yourself seam awesome, I called you out. Don't be a jerk to my friends, and I will be the nicest person you've ever seen. I love bandits, they're awesome. I hate jerks, I do not like it when people feel the need to call everyone else bad (especially when they're my friends). Lonewarrior is a very cool and nice person, he spends most of his time in game trying to help other people. Whatever you think about that, or him, at least try to recognize that and treat him well. He's done nothing to you, so why be a jerk to him and those with him? People may not need our help, that doesn't mean we won't offer it. We're not like you, we don't just jump on the train with everyone else. We go against the flow, and try to make a more fun gaming experience for everyone. We love bandits, we love killing them even more, the game would be nothing without them. We're nice, polite people and I don't think we deserve to be treated so poorly by people like you :P. And I'm sorry bro, but you were acting very immaturely. Bragging about your skill in a video game, and demeaning others just makes you like like a two year old. And as a continuation from my previous post, bragging about banging your GF is not very mature either. Not only have the vast majority of adults done it, nobody cares about your sexual practices. Yet again, you're just trying to brag >.>. No problem, I probably made a few typos myself. We don't work like that. We protect everyone from everyone. We kill noobs who ruin people's days, and we kill pros who ruin people's days. We could have gone to NW airfield and pretty much only fought other groups (and we have, by the way), but we're primarily in this to help others. That's why they're in Elektro. We're not here to impress you, this is not meant to be an awe inspiring video. We're just trying to get the point across, if you want a new and different gaming experience, give us a shot. If you're tired of being just like every other mindless clone, give us a shot. -

Yeah, some of us aren't pro. We let anyone and everyone with similar goals in our group. And about the kid, he's one of the most mature people I've met. He's really kind, really helpful, very proper, and a great guy. I personally don't judge people based on their voice, rather their character. -

Wow! Someone has serious video game skills. You are the coolest player I've ever seen on this game. Everybody should just quit now because there's no use playing with someone as hardcore as you around. Wow! Do you feel ridiculous when you say these kinds of things, or does it only sound ridiculous to those reading it? Do you realize how immature you sound? "Wow! I'm cool. I can kill like four people in a video game, at the same time!". P.S. Dallas 129 - Far South-West I have every tool, L85 with 6 clips, a DMR with 7 clips, medical supplies, food/drink... If you want or need any of those things come kill me and take them. Aren't I hardcore as well? Wow! Wow! Look I am tough. Mister tough guy is what I'm called. Oh wait! Was that your name? And be sure to leave your ign here on the forums that way we'll be able to confirm that it was you that killed me in a totally hardcore way. See you around ... if you show up, Mister tough guy with 1337 gaming skills. : P -

You must have 1337 gaming skills bro, you're better at a video game (you think) than other people! You can kill people in a video game! Seriously dude, chill out and grow up. And what tells you we're not "as good"? Was there some sort of grave error they made? -

*Regulator* Curt replied to thelonewarrior's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In order to do something bad, you first have to be trying to do it well. At that point in time, the goal was to have fun, and as such it wasn't "terribad". The game is about having fun, not make sure you're playing in the most maximally safe way as you can. They were all doing that sort of stuff because it's fun. Those of us who don't run around willy nilly murdering other players have to find some way to compensate, we don't get into as many interesting/enjoyable encounters so we try to have fun in other ways. Hate to dump on you bro, but I think you need to remember it's a game, not real life. @Lone Great vids as always, ignore the haters, they just be hating yo. -

*Regulator* Curt replied to flat1820's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
We don't allow any form of exploitation, and we recently turned down an alliance with the CQF (read on our forums about it). So your entire post makes no sense. But please, good sir, use our forum list, hunt us down. Do you want my current location? I only have a Winchester, but you're more than welcome to hunt me down. I'm around Kamenka, I frequent Dallas servers (US 49 Dallas, Dallas 129 IIRC). -

I don't know, there's over 70 of us now, not including those who haven't signed up on the forums but joined anyways. I have no clue if anyone has been in Guglovo. But anyways, thanks for saving or helping whoever that was. I can say though, that most Regulators are fairly skilled. While we do have a couple of newer players, most of our players are older and a lot of them come from PvP intense Day Z backgrounds. So don't worry about us, we usually kill the bandits before they kill us. -
Okay so... You were on a server that highlighted zombies and nameplates. You learned where he was using zombie indicators. You then proceeded to keep track of him by moving your cursor to highlight his name. Then, you waited for him, knowing his distance, shot him twice, and killed him for no reason when you could have very easily avoided him. Congratulations? No offense but everyone does this, and they do it without aids like nameplates and those zombie indicator things. And they do it to people who are actually armed. And when the person is standing still at a known distance, they usually don't take two shots. Sorry but, it seemed kind of like just another unnecessary murder of an unarmed person that could have easily been avoided. To each his own though, so congratulations on killing a guy.

No requirements except for following the code. I play on my own and I don't have a mic. But if you want, you can always opt-in to play with other Regulators. The Regulators are about options and freedom, so long as you don't break our primary rule (basically be friendly), you are free to do whatever you want however you want. Want to just survive, no PvP? Okay, go for it. Want to hunt down and murder the murderers that are making life miserable on pretty much everyone? Go for it! In fact, you don't even have to let us know you've joined. We have quite a few Regulators that have never reported the fact that they've joined, and that don't do anything on the forums. This is perfectly casual, but at the same time has the squad-oriented gameplay that a regular clan has if you want to participate in it. P.S. We now have over 60 confirmed Regulators, over 1,000 posts on our private forums, and now a dedicated channel on a TS3 server, and medical service for other Regulators. We're growing quite fast. -

http://regulators.freeforums.org/regulator-roster-t4.html I don't think there is a way to keep track of or add friends. Also yeah, we have quite a few American Regulators. I myself am American.
