Looking for a partner/small team (No Clans or Private-Hives)
oldenworld posted a topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Add toml.1993 on Skype or PM me! I can send you my TeamSpeak details in a Private Message. Thanks guys. Hey guys, a bit about me: 19 years old From the UK Got a microphone I have my own Skype/TeamSpeak Server Online regularly (I have a week off work, so I'll be on loads) I'm only looking for a partner or a small team, I'm really not into clans, I'm more into actually getting to know individuals as opposed to being part of something 'bigger' I'm not a huge fan of Private Hives. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a hacker or anything, but Private Hives tend to give me less FPS as there's usually tons of players, and I can't be bothered waiting several hours to be accepted into one. There's plenty of Public Hives with anti-hack tools anyway. I only like playing the Chernarus server, possibly more in the future, but preferably Chernarus A bit about my playstyle: I'm neither overly friendly, nor a bandit. I'll be friendly to people, and get backstabbed; then when I try to be a bandit I'll end up finding decent people to play with - It's a vicious circle, haha Depending on the circumstances, I will shoot on sight. If they're armed and they notice me, I will usually fire unless they call out 'friendly!' on microphone/chat. I love getting into trouble. Sniping over Sniper Hill - Check. Stealing people's vehicles - Check. Stalking people and waiting for the right moment to attack - Check. Pretending to be friendly and then backstabbing people - Check (don't worry, I won't do it to anyone here!) I can be incredibly patient when necessary. I can happily sit in the same spot for hours, waiting for people to come into my line-of-fire. I find that just as fun as mass shootouts, etc; potentially more-so. I find it incredibly exciting to observe a location, just waiting for an unsuspecting target to grab my attention. I have a Bandit Skin, with -50,000 humanity (or at least that's what it said before they removed the overlay) I mainly stick to cities, though I love exploring, too. It's even more suspenseful when you see another player out in the middle of nowhere. You start to question why they're there, whether they're a threat, etc. I'm naturally the leader-type. I'm quite shy to begin with, though I feel I can lead a team quite well. Not even necessarily a team, but if I'm playing with another person/small group of people, I naturally just become the guy who says what we should do next. I'm more than happy for someone else to be leader. It's not like I crave leadership or anything like that, I don't even think there should be a leader; but most people I play with just seem to be happy for doing whatever. They don't really have much incentive to do anything, they just do whatever I'm doing. I'm really looking for people who have set goals in mind, however psychopathic they may be. :P What I'm looking for: A partner or a small team People with microphones People with Skype/TeamSpeak/Mumble (I don't own a Mumble server, but it's installed if you Host one) I'm looking for players who are outgoing and confident. Not overly confident, but I hate awkward silences, I want us to be able to have a laugh. I'm kinda looking for players who don't have much of a conscience. I'm not looking to be a Hero anytime soon. The more psychopathic, the better. I don't mind teaming up with random people we find in-game, but if I have some decent weapons, I don't want to risk it. Looking for someone who's quite patient. If you like sniping, sneaking up behind people, stealing vehicles, all the better. If we see a group of people who we want to kill, I'm looking for people who know about different tactics, such as flanking, etc. I'm looking for someone who doesn't hesitate under pressure. Sometimes people tend to make mistakes when they get fired at. If you can remain confident in extreme circumstances, that's ideal. Apologies if I seem a little needy, I like being immersed into games, and I'd love to find like-minded players who are looking to explore, talk and have a fun time. If you've got a different approach to what I have, that's not necessarily a bad thing at all. I'm up for anything. Add toml.1993 on Skype or PM me! I can send you my TeamSpeak details in a Private Message. Thanks guys. -
Hey there, add me on Skype: toml.1993 I would like a partner(s) to group up with and kill others. I have no remorse.

My little experience at banditry
oldenworld replied to DUONGNG's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Very interesting read, you're a good writer. If you ever play on normal servers/public hives, add toml.1993 on skype. I'm not a hacker, but private hives tend to be filled to the brim with players, which simply makes me lag more. I'm neither a bandit, nor a friendly, though I would thoroughly enjoy playing as a killer. I'm good with tactics and whatnot, I look forward to hearing back from you. -
Reverence, I added you on Skype. Would be cool to play.

Skype: toml.1993 Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/OldWorldYall Hey guys, I'm looking for a Partner/Group of people who'd like to start playing together. I haven't played DayZ in quite a while, and would like to start up again. My playstyle is a mix between a friendly, and a bandit. It honestly depends on the mood I'm in. I do have a bandit-skin, but I'm trying my best to be friendly to other people. I'm quite untrustworthy to start off with, as my last attempt at being friendly resulted in two German guys going quiet, then suddenly shooting me. Every time I'm killed by a bandit, I vow to shoot on sight; but I end up feeling guilty and just teaming up with randoms I encounter in-game. I can play tactically, but equally I'm happy to go in guns-blazing if the situation arises. I sometimes act on impulse, and go wherever my mood takes me. I'll happily run around a town, potentially making myself a target in order to get to another location; though I can be smart too. I quite like immersion, and if I hear footsteps, I'll genuinely feel scared and contemplate what to do next. Without sounding egotistical, I like to think I'm quite a lot of fun to be around. I love exploring, but equally I love just staying in the towns; waiting for action. If I see someone in a car, I'll happily walk out into the open, taking fire at them. I once spawned and noticed this guy in a Ghillie Suit waiting by the ocean for his friend. He had a car, and I wanted it. I waited for the opportune moment, and stole it when he wasn't paying attention. My heart was pounding, and soon I took gunfire. He nailed me, but it wasn't a vital shot. Bullets were whizzing past my head, and I was slowly bleeding out. I drove enough distance away before I parked up and bandaged myself. I never heard from him again. It's moments like that, that I love the best. Just unexpected encounters that could finish in several different ways. Whilst I love action, I'm also incredibly patient. I will happily sit in a bush waiting to spot a hopeless target. I'm online 24/7, so add me and we'll have fun. I'm 19 and from the UK.

I really am liking the look of the clothing in the standalone. You actually look like genuine survivors now as opposed to military personnel. The hoody looks cool, the jeans look stylish, and the shoes look like Adidas shoes or something. Really cannot wait now. I wonder what other clothing items there will be?

How much more FPS will the Standalone give?
oldenworld posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hey guys, Rocket's mentioning of the Standalone yesterday looks really promising. He mentions optimizations and whatnot. To what extent do you think the FPS will be improved? I'm getting between 30-60 in Cherno, but my PC really isn't bad at all. I have no idea why it's so low. -

Bump. -
Bambi is a term coined by YouTube's most famous hacker. It's to represent either people who are new to the game, or new spawns (people who have just started a new character).
-
I've only done it once, he managed to kill me too though. I shot the guy in the leg who admitted he once hacked, he's lying there crippled. I'm laughing at him, he manages to get the drop on me and we die at the same time.
-
When I'm feeling cocky, I'll intentionally do stupid things. I'll walk into Elektro/Cherno, simply sitting by the entrance of the Church with my legs crossed, leaning left and right. Set ridiculous challenges for yourself, see how many times you can walk through an Airfield without getting killed. Get a person's/group of people's attention and simply salute at them. The better equipment you have, the more is on the line. I've done this before, and received mixed reactions. Some nice souls will salute back, to which you form a team as a result. Cripple someone and see how many times you can run around them, trolling them and laughing at them before they kill you. Literally just sit down in the street, don't respond to anyone, simply just sit there leaning left and your right, occasionally moaning through the microphone, dribbling on yourself. It's funny to see people's reactions.

Loving the clothes in the Standalone
oldenworld replied to oldenworld's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah I think there'll be some simple clothing options to choose from each time you start a new character. E.g. picking a blue hoody as opposed to a red hoody, maybe a couple of t-shirts or jackets. I reckon there'll be some better items in-game though, stuff like proper army jackets and whatnot. Ghillie suits, etc will obviously return. -
Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?

What sort of Black Viper service tweaks did you use? Does Tune-Up Utilities Turbo mode and Razer GameBooster actually make much difference? -

If nobody's seen them, go here: http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/post/39933141266/where-is-the-standalone-release-i-suppose-i I don't know why, but seeing the characters in different clothes impressed me more than anything I've seen so far. It's really starting to look like it's own game now, I cannot wait. That last shot of the guy in the hoody and jeans looks awesome, he actually looks badass. I like those jeans he's wearing, give me a pair! Cannot wait until it comes out, I'm really excited. Hopefully it's much more optimized than the DayZ mod, I'm sick of getting 30fps in Cherno. (My PC's not bad by any means) -
Right, so I was just running around Cherno with an AKM, when I notice a bandit running in front of me. I decide to open fire, firing 7 rounds at him in total. I only wanted to cripple the guy, I wasn't actually certain I even crippled him. I figured he probably went prone, so I decide to run towards him. As I do so, the poor old kid lets out this almighty scream through his microphone. I think he was so surprised to actually be shot at, he wasn't expecting me at all. The screaming only lasted for a second or two, to which he died. I've been running around Cherno for a good twenty minutes or so after this happened, and I can't stop thinking about it. It sounded so.. real. I usually play as a Bandit too, it wasn't a personal attack towards him being a Bandit, but I haven't killed anyone in quite some time, so I decided to kill him. What reactions have you had to your Banditry/generally attacking people?
-
It was only yesterday I teamed up with a new guy who had only had the game for a week, teaching him some of the ropes. I had to go for a dinner, and decided to spare him. I just told him I needed to go, good luck out there. Admittedly I did want to kill him, but I didn't. I can be nice too. ^^

Is the Standalone likely to give better performance?
oldenworld posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hey guys, currently DayZ is definitely playable, but there are times where I wish my FPS would be higher. I get 60fps+ outside of cities, and usually around 30-40fps whilst inside them. Occasionally I'll dip to around 25 if the server hasn't been reset in a while, or there are hordes upon hordes of zombies (or both). I play with my graphic settings all on low, as there really is no difference in terms of performance. With a game like DayZ, if I can increase the FPS by even a single digit due to lowering the settings, I'll be more than happy to do so. Things like Post-Processing, whilst looking nice, could potentially stop me from spotting someone due to the movement blur and whatnot. Is the Standalone likely to be optimized? I know they're removing the Solder A.I from zombies and stuff, but will this really make much difference? It annoys me how certain servers have such a vast difference in terms of FPS. If it hasn't been reset in a while, I get lower FPS than usual. Hopefully the Standalone will fix this. I have an adequate PC, but the game could definitely be optimized better. -
Looking for people to play with.

Small group looking to add more
oldenworld replied to (friendly) Jenkins's topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Banned by a hacker? I'm guessing you downloaded a program, for it to swap your CD key. -
Just got a fucking EPIC kill on DayZ. I was playing with a friend who I covered from a distance whilst he looted a deer-stand by Stary Sobor, moments later I see this bandit running across the field. I fire 5 shots at him with my DMR, one nails him right in the head, we loot his corpse to find a scoped m4 with 6 mags, and a ton of other useful shit, how he didn't see us is beyond me. So if you're reading this Mr. XY, I'm sorry for killing you. I was almost killed by a sniper with a DMR on another server moments before that, to thankfully be saved by my friend. If you'd like us to drop the loot anywhere, we'd be more than happy to. You were a Bandit, but I still feel I acted too rash. Hope everything's okay.

Looking for a partner or team (no clans please)
oldenworld posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hey guys, I'm looking for either a partner or a team, but I'm really not looking for a clan. I'm online 24/7, I have a headset, Skype, and all the other VoIP programs. I'm 19 and from the UK. I usually play as a Bandit, running around and getting myself into trouble, but I can play sneaky/tactical too. Add me for a good laugh. Tom :) Add me on Steam: http://steamcommunit...id/oldworldyall Skype ID: toml.1993 -
Ignore these clan invites, I've never understood why anyone would want to join a clan. Simply get a good group of friends, and play with them. Clans usually try to restrict you to a certain play-style, so don't do it. Add me on Steam: http://steamcommunit...id/oldworldyall Skype ID: toml.1993 I'm online 24/7, and I'd love to group up. Add me :)

Hey guys, I'm looking for either another person, or a group of people to play DayZ with. I'm from the UK, but I'm online 24/7 so time-zones don't really bother me much. I usually play as a Bandit, but I'm more than happy to team up with others if they are trustworthy. I usually hang around Elektro/Cherno getting myself into trouble, running around and whatnot, but I haven't been exploring in a while so it'd be cool to maybe head up north or something. I can be really tactical though, if someone's shooting at us, I'll do my damnedest to keep us all alive. I have a headset, and I have all the different VoIP programs too. Add me on Steam: http://steamcommunit...id/oldworldyall Skype ID: toml.1993 I'm online right now, and I look forward to playing!
