Does DayZ Commander wreck your internet too?
disorder replied to Scorned's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Even though I'm a fairly smart programmer, learn fast and have played games since DOS (yes I had to run setblaster) I still didn't know that slider feature existed because it is really new and I didn't see it until recently, So you see not everyone knows everything. Also don't be a jerk. -
To open the inventory is simple all you have to do is stand on one leg, flail your arms uncontrollably and sing an optimisitic, upbeat Disney song about princesses. Then a sprite will deliver you a backpack before disappearing in a cloud of sparkles. Don't forget to tickle the backpack and say the magic phase 3 times or you won't be able to open it. It's G if you have default key bindings, otherwise check your settings.

I may have a arma 2 key stealer on my pc HELP
disorder replied to exomonkeyman's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
900k and nothing? Try opening it with notepad++ or a hex editor. If they also show nothing the file might be 900k of spaces /CR's Try compressing it with 7zip, if it squeezes down to a few bytes, then it is just empty space. Test example with 38k of spaces gives a 209 byte 7z file If you are unsure send me the zipped file and I will analyse it. -
The giving of a title to the one they call "OrLok"
disorder replied to TheDesigner's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have no idea what that even means. -
mklink uses junctions and yes they are very useful. Did you know windows uses junctions whenever you install new updates that have the same version/data in them? Instead of duplicating files it makes a junction back to the original file. For example direct X and visual C runtime having lots of different editions, some files are the same and some are different. So if you install a copy of VC redist 2010 over another copy, only the files which are different are created and the ones that are the same are linked via junction to the previous copy.

New to DayZ, What to do? [The Newbie Experience]
disorder replied to TheKidCommentaries's topic in New Player Discussion
Electro and Cherno are fine on any servers under 15 players. Just make sure there are no zombies already walking around when you approach. -
I have been getting tech problems since around November, pretty much replaced my whole pc and only have the PSU left. I know this probably sounds daft to most people but I think its solar winds or some kind of sun activity. It is peaking around this time according to some science types and I've heard it has an effect on electronics and old wiring. I have also noticed blurry/laggy LCD's on at least 3 different computers so I believe something is up atm. There have been lots of bad fps threads too, so they must be connected.

Try turning off your User Account Control (under users in control panel) and running it only from its default/recommended install folder.

Dear Rocket... - "different temperature zones" clothing etc.
disorder replied to timedance's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
There is always a temperature differential in my pants whenever I eat beans! :o I'm kidding hehe. Realistically it would be easy to trigger a temperature change when going up mountains, pik kozlova is one example. In fact any elevation in the game could lower temperature. As for different areas of cherno, I think the average temp on the ground would probably stay the same. -
Here's an original idea! What if you could turn into a zombie after a zombie kills you?
disorder replied to kasigawa's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
What if you ate a hamburger and turned into a cow, perhaps being slaughtered for your juicy meat might make you realise it was a stupid idea the whole time. -
What is your Dream Vision for Dayz - 2 Years from now?
disorder replied to rassad's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think the future of this game is wearing VR headsets while running on a treadmill for ultimate immersion. -
Change your server name to stop confusing people then, US xxx is a public style name. Also, having no proof and banning anyway is a lame excuse. Your server is managed poorly and if anyone can be banned at any time simply because you assume something I don't think your server would be very fun to play on.

Every time someone buys WarZ, the Titov Demon slays 100 newborns. Do you want to be labeled an accomplice in mass genocide? Didn't think so..

You're right, Razor can do whatever he wishes it isn't really hurting anyone. Why are we here talking about it? And is that going to make the slightest bit of difference?

Constant Fps drop to about 5 with stutter
disorder replied to Dizzykillz's topic in Technology/Programming
Graphics cards on some laptops are not for serious gaming, as mentioned above post full specs. -
No of course not, but most developers don't second guess themselves and make posts about it. I got the impression Razor was unsure/unhappy because other people didn't like the named goods. I have no issue with it personally, but I suggested a compromise. The fact that he made a post, means he wanted community feedback and if he did want that feedback, why didn't he just ask for community input first. It's quite logical when you think about it.
-
I think you'll find its a community driven mod. The game hasn't come out yet :P
-
Depends if they are running a dictatorship or a democracy, I like to think the latter. If it is a community project, why are the community hardly involved at all until it's already been done. Basically the community don't help with the mod at all, they're just a bunch of 'yes men'. I have no idea what you're on about, but you can't deny there are people more deserving than a moderator that showed up in the last couple of weeks, compared to one who has been around since the beginning. Just taking names of all moderators is unfair to the regular forum members who have put a lot of effort into helping people too. Also I don't think it is called envy when I'd like to see the same level playing field for everyone here.
-
It's ok for some mods to be given respect, but most of us don't know any of them and we certainly didn't vote for them. A lot were probably picked by Rocket personally and many others have just shown up more recently. Myself and many others have helped this community just as much as any mods, so why are we not recognised? What about the designer of Dayz commander? If anything there should have been a vote to see who the community thought was the most helpful or dedicated.

I don't think they should have any pistols, or if they did they should keep them at the original damage when you didn't have to unload a 3 full clips to take an enemy out.
